Chapter one hundred seven: "A Point"

My heart dropped and my eyes widened in shock
Is this a common marriage due to business? I've heard that it's normal for rich people with businesses to do it so their business would expand

But come on, this is not old style way of expanding business here

Harold sets down a pen and a piece of paper that looks like a contract
These people are thick-skinned

Theo eyes the contract that was given to him by Harold while Bianca eagerly waits at her father's side like things are starting to go her way. Sophia narrowed her eyes at the paper Theo now holds in his hands and read it thoroughly

I could feel Cloud's pulse go fast when we held hands since our wrists are near too. Bianca gave me a dirty look once she saw our hands were intertwined together

"Aren't you guys a bit too touchy?" Bianca asked us out loud while pointing her long nail at us with judging eyes

"My son and my future daughter-in-law are allowed to be touchy and loving, I don't see nothing wrong with it"

Bianca turned up her nose at Sophia "It will be a problem if he becomes my fiancè"
It would be very funny to know that Theo was watching Bianca's stinky attitude directed toward his wife

I furrowed my brows "Bianca this is getting ridiculous, you're wasting time here"

She scoffed at me "No Penelope, you're wasting time here, what's the point of being all lovey-dovey with Cloud? It's not like you guys are gonna end up together forever"

Sophia sets her hand down on Theo's shoulder "Honey I don't think this is a good idea-" "SHUT UP BITCH, NOBODY NEEDS YOUR STUPID OPINION!!" Bianca yelled at her because Sophia was starting to get annoyed that she is ruining her plans

I gasped in shock "Bianca why are you doing this?"

She raised a brow and crossed her legs "Easy, I want to get married to Cloud. I don't think it's that hard to get your stupid little brain around"

My left eye twitched

"Aww, did I strike a sensitive nerve? Well you should've known if you were unaware of rumors about you being stupid back then" she started insulting me in a lot of ways while her father laughs a little along with her

I just finished graduating from college and hearing her say that as a person who didn't manage to graduate due to poor grades is astounding enough as it is

Not only she was chasing Cloud for his body and face, but she was also chasing his family's money that could give her a filthy rich future without working hard for it

Cloud didn't decide to let his anger get the best of him, mischief sparkled in his eyes before he started hugging me sideways right in front of them. Ava chuckled quietly at us while the few maids giggled behind her

This made Bianca even more furious that she was turning red from jealousy "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU ARE DOING?!"

Cloud ignored her then rested his chin on my shoulder "Do you hear something?"

A smile formed on my lips as I shook my head while playing along with his mischief "No, I think it's some fly"

Harold loves his daughter but he spoiled her rotten which was bad too, which means he is also not a good father "Boy I suggest you stop that" he spoke in an authoritative tone

"I suggest you teach your daughter with some respect, she's insulting my lover"
He didn't say girlfriend, no, he said lover. It's almost as if he wanted to be direct as possible with only a few words

Theo finished reading the contract and then have his hand reach for his coat pocket, this made Bianca give us a smug look of victory

"Can someone bring me a lighter, please? I think I need a cig" Theo asked one of the maids but Harold immediately brought one out of his pocket and was glad I handed it to him

Greed showed within Harold's eyes but it vanished immediately once he saw Theo folding the contract to make it smaller "Uh Theo what are you doing?"

He didn't give Harold any eye contact whilst starting to burn the corner of the folded contract "Lighting up for my cigarette"

"But that's the contract"

With cold eyes, he looks at Harold which made him and his daughter frozen at their spot

Cloud and I have the same wide grin when we realized that Theo is siding with us the moment he asked for a cigarette, Sophia gave a proud look at her husband which made Theo feel overjoyed seeing his wife proud of him

I could almost see a black panther wagging its tail which was Theo right in front of his wife. It was almost like how I see Cloud as a golden retrieved wagging its tail at me whenever he is excited to see me proud of him

Harold stood up in rage "ARE YOU CRAZY?! A FUTURE THAT CAN GIVE YOU THE UPPER HAND THAT EVEN THE RICHEST COULDN'T HAVE AND YOU'RE JUST GONNA BURN IT?!"
He was confused but overall the burning of the contract was like stepping on their pride and family name

Theo leaned back and pulled out a cigar in his pocket and used the burning contract to light it up, he puffed out smoke right in front of Harold's face

"I just want to get this straight, I, have a life to live and besides, the Marshall's are one of the richest families close to royalty, and thinking of having this" he held up the contract that only has a small piece burning left "Little money can make me waver is not gonna cut it" then he blew on the burning paper

All that was left of the contract was a small corner that was the size of a thumb

His hand went to hold Sophia's hand rested on his left shoulder and he kissed the back of her hand "I also need to mention that if it weren't for the fact that my wife is here, I would've ended your wealth the moment your bitchy daughter started insulting my wife"

Fear was the only emotion in Harold and Bianca's eyes, their situation is a huge problem. Bianca never got to graduate due to her poor grades and she only managed to enter college because of Harold's money

From my point of view, they look like they lived a lavish lifestyle so their money runs into luxury items they buy
Looks like no matter if you are wealthy, you can't buy class

At least Sophia, Theo, and the Marshall brothers never wore something so flashy

If Theo managed to let his anger control him then we could've seen Bianca and her Dad on the streets

"One last thing" Theo's eyes landed on me "I already have a demon getting ready to enter my family in a few years, I don't want to meet another one" he pointed at me

Cloud snorted, while both Ava and Sophia laughed at my shocked expression
Why am I offended more by what Theo said than Bianca did?

Harold refused to give up because Bianca was furious at him "Now what just a second, why on earth would you choose her over my daughter?"

It was Cloud's time to shine because this is where he was best at, he cleared his throat "First off she is respectable to strangers" Theo had to clear his throat on this one

"Second she speaks multiple languages which is the most beneficial for me" Theo added
When Theo needed someone to translate something for him I was his speed dial which was a great improvement from the awkward talk we have before

Of course, he does pay me with free meals so it's a win-win for both of us

"And third, I'm all set to have my future with her and you want me to start square one with some chick who has a princess attitude?" Cloud raised a brow at Harold

"He does seem to make a point" Harold mumbled but was hit in the arm by Bianca
