"You're coming, and that's final, Sweetie. No excuses," Piya, Avni's best friend, declared firmly after almost an hour.

"Only if Siddharth doesn't object," Avni added.

"Yes, Ma'am. Talk to your husband and convince him. Bye, Sweetie," Piya ended the call, insisting on her presence.

Avni sighed, unable to decide. She doesn't want to leave Siddharth, but she also can't miss her friend's wedding.

The night had been long, and she hugged her Teddy waiting for Siddharth to join. He was working in the study room.

Avni started talking to the Teddy bear, pouting disappointedly. "Why are you so peach and yellow?"

"You look cute, though."

"What should I name you, cutie pie?" Avni started thinking hard to find a name.

"Barbie?"

"Pinky?"

"But what if you're a boy?"

"Ben?"

"Taylor?"

"Are you serious, Avni? Taylor to a Teddy?" Siddharth chuckled, walking into the room. He was amused by hearing voices from the bedroom and silently listened to their conversation.

"Eavesdropping is bad, Husband!" Avni chirped with a glint in her eyes, smiling brightly at the sight of Siddharth.

Siddharth took slow steps to the center of the room while Avni stared at him, mesmerized by his perfect style. His hands in his pockets, slightly messy hair and charming smile gave him an attractive boyish look.

"I'm sure my gorgeous lady won't mind," He winked.

Her stomach was in knots hearing him, and she took a few moments to form a reply, "What a sugarcoat!"

"Nah! I'm stating the truth, Baby!" Siddharth spoke in his deep husky voice.

"Suggest some nice name," Avni excitedly spoke, getting up from the bed.

"Baby, I'm a billionaire. People might consider me a little weird if I encourage these ideas," Siddharth laughed.

"Are you suggesting I'm weird?" Avni exclaimed with her mouth forming a perfect 'O'.

"I'm pretty sure it's already established," Siddharth teased, earning a fake glare from her. Avni turned around and took steps towards the bed.

He caught her hand just in time and pulled her close. She came crashing onto his chest, and he hugged her, whispering, "I'm glad you're beautifully weird making my days delightful."

Avni smiled, hugging him back and relaxing, leaning onto him. She doesn't have to worry about falling anymore.

"You smell amazing, Baby," Siddharth whispered, running his fingers through her long silky hair and holding her by her waist.

Avni enthusiastically chirped, "I bathed with Tresseme shampoo today. I sprayed the lavender perfume which you got for me too. It's nice, no?"

"And what soap did you use?" Siddharth smirked. He adores this side of her, filled with a kid's excitement.

"I used Lux International. But I like Dove more. It's so soft and moisturizing," Avni babbled, not taking the hint of playfulness in his dark chocolate brown eyes.

"You're so mean. Always teasing me," Avni whined, trying to release herself.

"Didn't I tell you there's no escape anymore, Baby?" Siddharth stated in his deep husky voice in her ear. Her stomach was in knots as his hot breath tickled her skin.

She stopped struggling and stayed there.

"Fin," Siddharth uttered, breaking the silence.

"Huh?" Avni frowned in confusion.

"How about Fin for your Teddy?" And it's officially named Fin.

Avni hesitated, playing with the buttons of his shirt as she leaned on his shoulder on the couch.

"What's it?" Siddharth questioned, wrapping his arm around her getting rid of the laptop.

"I.. My... " Avni stuttered.

"Tell me, Baby."

"It's my friend's wedding. Fifteen days from now," She finally blurted out.

"We own a chartered plane if you're asking me to grab tickets," Siddharth casually declared.

"No. That's not the matter. She wants me there tomorrow."

"For fifteen long days?" He repeated in a flat tone.

"Piya is my best friend. We practically grew old together, supporting each other in every stage of life. She wants me by her side in every moment of her important transition," Avni explained with her voice depicting her bond with Piya.

"You must go, then," Siddharth exclaimed, encouraging her.

"I have mixed feelings. I can't leave you, and I couldn't deny her. I told her I wouldn't be able to make it if you disagree." She couldn't leave him. He would miss her if she went, and she was sure of it. His happiness matters.

"Friends are important, Avni. You shouldn't let them feel insignificant in any way," Siddharth explained, bringing her closer and inhaling her fruity fragrance.

"You won't miss me?" Avni complained like a five-year-old.

"You're stuck with me for a lifetime. Let me have a break," He chuckled, lightening the atmosphere.

"You're so over, Husband," Avni swiftly picked a pillow and followed him as he started running.

They finally fell onto the bed with a thud after a long chase.

"I have to start packing then," Avni sighed, too lazy to move an inch.

"Go ahead," Siddharth nodded.

"I'm lazy. Will you do it for me?" Avni pleaded, drawing patterns on his chest with her finger. She somehow found the idea challenging.

She has never witnessed a man as full of patience as Siddharth, and her curiosity wanted to test it. One thing she was sure of was he wouldn't deny. But the actual question is how long he would withstand.

"What!" He exclaimed in surprise. Never did Avni request him for such tasks. "Alright! Tell me what you want, and I will pack," He replied after a moment. Avni raised her brows in amazement.

"Okay. I need some casuals and one dress for every occasion. Need to pack four jeans, ten tops, four salwar kameez, nightwear, and we can then decide on dresses for wedding," Avni breathed in a go.

Siddharth blinked a few times after she dictated her unending list. Little did he know she would need an entire mall to attend a simple wedding. "Why don't we purchase a mall in your hometown? I'm pretty sure I can afford it."

Avni rolled her eyes at him, whining, "It's a wedding, Siddharth, and I'm a woman. If I don't dress up well, your dignity would be at stake."

Siddharth's jaw dropped, unable to comprehend how his dignity is related to her dressing. "I don't understand a word."

"Let me explain," Avni seriously began. "If I don't dress up well, What will people say?"

Siddharth kept a blank face, not understanding where this discussion was leading. "That Avni didn't dress up?" He tried responding in a haze.

"No. Old ladies don't talk that way. They would happily spread gossips on how Billionaire Siddharth Malhotra's wife can't even afford attractive clothes."

"Eh?" Siddharth still couldn't understand a bit.

"Let's start," He gulped down his throat, imagining the amount of work. He is used to constantly keeping himself busy, but this kind of work is something he never did.

"You'll have to start by descending three trolleys from the loft in the storeroom," Avni instructed, giggling quietly. His shocked face amused her.

Siddharth was getting up from the bed before he felt her hand holding him back.

"I was joking. You don't have to do this," Avni exclaimed as he indeed planned on packing her stuff.

"You'll do it if I don't. Trust me, that's the last thing I want," Siddharth said, releasing his hand from her hold. He was back with trolleys in a few minutes.

"What clay are you made of, Siddharth?"

Avni observed as he patiently pulled them into the walk-in closet with her jaw dropped. She was blank.

"How could someone be this patient and sweet?"

Siddharth carried her into the enormous walk-in closet and settled her on a rotating chair in the center. He opened and placed the trolley on the table across her that was almost at her waist level. She was still blank.

Siddharth slid the glass partition of casuals' wardrobe and glanced at her. She was about to get up when he strictly gestured her to sit, and she obliged like an obedient kid.

"Ten tops and four jeans, right?" He confirmed. Astonished! That's her expression at how perfectly he remembered. She nodded.

He picked out most of her choice of dresses. Two tops and a salwar kameez were his choices, and the rest were packed as she instructed.

"How many dresses for wedding occasions?"

"Haldi, Mehendi, Pooja, Roka, Sangeet, Wedding. That's all, I guess."

Siddharth picked out every costume along with matching accessories after she carefully examined and he approved. It took not less than three hours.

Avni grew impatient by sitting at the same place. Still, he displayed no signs of frustration even after standing continuously for three hours.

"Done," Avni exclaimed cheerfully, sucking in a deep breath.

"Are you sure you don't need anything else, Baby?" Siddharth chuckled.

"What else?" Avni frowned.

"Who will pack your lingerie?" Siddharth whispered in his deep husky voice as she was about to get up.

Avni blushed a deep shade of crimson red at his bold words, ducking her head. This man is not leaving a chance to tease her, and she enjoyed it.

"I'm leaving just to give you space."

Avni followed him to the door to close it, and he swiftly turned around. He pulled her in a second, and she came crashing onto his chest.

"I would love the red lacy one on your milky skin," Siddharth whispered in her ear as his hot breath tickled her. The voice gave her goosebumps.

Her heart beat like she had just run a marathon, and she leaned against the door after locking it. How could she forget the fact that he was the one who bought all her dresses, including lingerie!

Avni walked out of the closet after almost an hour, sneaking glances to spot him. She was too shy to face him.

He sat on his knees, picking out a few books on the other side of the bed.

"What are you doing?" Avni asked, forgetting the previous incident.

"I know you read at night when you can't fall asleep. The phone is harmful. Take these novels with you."

Pride & Prejudice, The Notebook, One Indian Girl, and The Monk who sold his Ferrari. All were her favorites.

"How did you know I like them?" Avni couldn't hide the surprise in her voice.

"Smart guesses. I notice, Baby." He chuckled.

She was about to thank him but Nope! He is too close to do that.

"Let's not sleep tonight," Siddharth declared all of a sudden.

"Huh?"

"You can sleep on the plane tomorrow," Siddharth suggested.

"What shall we do then?"

"It's almost 3 am. Let's sit by the balcony and relish the moonlight."

They settled on a swing as planned and stared at the new moon while Avni hugged Siddharth's arm, leaning onto his shoulder. The moon felt left out as the couple enjoyed each other's presence.

Siddharth casually stretched his legs, resting them on a nearby chair. Avni gently massaged his feet, relieving his pain though he tried protesting. It was a moment of bliss for Siddharth as her soft hands grazed across his feet.

The morning was dim and cold as the sun snuggled more into the clouds.

Avni's eyes wandered to the door every two minutes hoping Siddharth would arrive sooner. He went out two hours ago, and it was slightly past nine then.

Avni breathed a sigh of relief and her face beamed as she spotted him. She found him handsome even in his casuals, sweating after a workout.

"It's almost time. Where were you stuck?" Avni looked behind as a guard appeared with a few bags in his hands.

Siddharth soon descended the stairs after a quick bath, ready for office. He stood by her side as she prayed.

"There are diabetes medicines in one bag for Papa. And another has fruits." He always sent medicines by courier to Avni's father from the past few months as it would be difficult to travel to a nearby town and fetch them.

"Nothing for me?" Avni pouted.

"Be a good girl. Don't annoy Amma and help her," Siddharth instructed. She couldn't figure if they were her parents or his for a while as his voice screamed affection for them.

"Nothing else?" Avni let out a disappointed sigh before her eyes twinkled in excitement.

Siddharth forwarded a blue box of chocolates tied by a golden ribbon along with a bouquet of white roses and blue orchids.

He whispered, hugging her, "Use your credit card and enjoy a little. Be safe, Baby." and her heart melted at the sweet gesture. No one ever did that for her. And he stole a tiny part of her with his forehead kiss that tickled her.

Leaving him hasn't been easy for Avni. Her heart carried an unknown burden she is yet to realize. She always knew he would miss her if she left but didn't know it would be difficult for her too until his image faded.
