Avni peered out of the window, enjoying the view as Siddharth drove home after a tiresome and joyous day. Soft music played in the background just as she desired.

"Siddharth," Avni called, turning to him, biting her nails.

Siddharth frowned in confusion, gesturing her to go on.

"Can we spend some time here? The weather is calm and soothing," Avni suggested hesitantly with her fingers crossed.

The car came to a screeching halt, and he smiled, unlocking her door.

Avni's face brightened instantly, hopping out of the car. She knocked on Siddharth's side window, noticing him not getting down. He wasn't interested but couldn't deny her hope-filled request.

"Can I sit on this?" Avni questioned, pointing to the front portion of the car.

"Anything you want," Siddharth smiled, nodding in an affirmative.

Avni struggled to climb onto the bonnet when Siddharth walked to her side. She hesitantly waited for his help, and he held her hand, placing it on his shoulder. He caught her other hand, gesturing her to put her feet on the bumper.

"Are you sure? What if the bumper breaks?" Avni pouted, thinking seriously.

"Even cheap quality bumpers won't break for your weight, Dear Wife! You'll have to eat at least ten times more to make a dent in this one," Siddharth chuckled, pulling her leg.

A shiver ran down her spine the moment he uttered, 'Dear Wife.' This is the first time he addressed her as wife in a casual conversation, and it felt nice.

Avni quickly recovered hearing his following sentence and hit him with her fists whining, "I'm not that weak!"

"That's why your punches hurt terribly," Siddharth exclaimed, not even feeling the slightest sensation.

"Yeah, I'm taking it easy as you're my husband. Otherwise, I would've hit you harder," Avni boasted, pretending to be confident.

"Alright, Now try," Siddharth helped her climb up, dropping the conversation. Avni happily settled down on the bonnet leaning against the windshield and stretching her legs.

Siddharth soon accompanied her and sat adjacent to her on her insistence.

Time passed in silence as they enjoyed the weather. Avni had no knowledge of when she clasped their hands together for warmth. His hands were warm and slightly rough against her cool soft ones.

"Close your eyes and make a wish, Siddharth," Avni blurted, cutting in through the pleasant silence.

Siddharth frowned in confusion, turning to her. "See there! A star is falling. If you wish something seeing a falling star, it'll be granted," Siddharth sighed, hearing her but anyway obliged.

"Bless Avni and Ma with loads of happiness, dear star."

Siddharth prayed silently, believing in her faith. He is a traditional person, but that's limited to offering prayers. He never went to God with a wish list trusting his hard work.

"Whatever Siddharth's wish is, please fulfill it."

Avni murmured incoherent words closing her eyes. Siddharth sighed, laughing out loud, witnessing a new adorable side of her.

"Why are you laughing?" Avni questioned as soon as she opened her eyes.

"Nothing! What did you pray for?" Siddharth asked, diverting the topic.

"Revealed wishes won't be fulfilled. You don't know?" Avni explained sincerely, earning another laughter from Siddharth.

"You believe in all this?" Siddharth couldn't stop exclaiming.

"They are nice and harmless. So what's wrong?" Avni remarked, focusing back on the sky. Siddharth smiled, nodding.

"Do you like gazing at stars?" Avni questioned out of the blue.

"No particular interest," Siddharth responded, looking away from her with his attention on their clasped hands.

"I tried counting them all numerous nights in childhood, and now I like gazing at them. It calms me," Avni spoke her heart out, focusing on another set of stairs.

"Wanna see some Constellations?" Avni nodded in excitement hearing Siddharth. The idea of learning new skills and subjects fascinated her.

Avni intently listened as he explained, pointing few stars towards the sky, "That's Orion meaning the hunter in Greek. Can you make out the belt?"

Avni pouted, unable to spot the Constellation after carefully examining it in the direction pointed by his fingers.

Siddharth helped her out by holding her hand and making the shape. She is used to holding his hand by now.

The radiant smile he was rewarded with after she successfully figured it out would remain a lifetime memory.

"That's Ursa Major, The Great Bear. Also known as Saptarshi in Indian Mythology," Siddharth continued as she enthusiastically awaited his following words.

"The one there is Vasishta, and the star blinking adjacent to it is Arundathi," He added.

Avni gasped as realization dawned upon her. She mumbled more to herself, "That means you indeed showed me Arundathi on our marriage day!" Every groom points to the sky just for the sake of ritual.

"I would never lie to you, Avni. I pointed Arundhati star that day too," Siddharth confirmed her thoughts.

Avni smiled with a pang in her heart -Smiled as she felt like the luckiest wife on earth and felt a pang as she hurt him terribly.

They randomly stared at the sky after pointing to various constellations.

------

Avni never realized when Sunday morning passed, waking up just before lunchtime. She comfortably twisted all over the king-size bed, feeling lazy, hugging something soft.

It's Sunday -Meaning no office for Siddharth -Implies Siddharth would cook -Meaning she can act all lazy.

Avni unwillingly opened her eyes, welcoming a beautiful day with a bright smile. She did consider all of it as a dream finding the Teddy Bear in her arms.

Avni enthusiastically ran downstairs, taking a quick bath and getting dressed in a lemon yellow Maxi floral printed gown.

"Did you get the Teddy for me?" Avni chirped as she undoubtedly bounced into the kitchen.

Siddharth was there cooking as anticipated, but his sharp glare was umm..... unexpected?

"How many times do I wake you up in the morning for breakfast, Avni? It's a terrible habit to skip the first meal," Siddharth spoke in a frustrated tone, sighing heavily.

"You sound like Amma," Avni chuckled, settling down on the kitchen counter watching him cook.

"Amma pampered you a lot," Siddharth whined, continuing to cook. Only he knew how difficult it was not to take a glance at her. He was, in a way, yearning for her presence too.

"Says the one who pampers me by buying Teddy Bear?" Avni giggled, twisting his words.

"That's different," Siddharth couldn't defend himself as what she spoke was the absolute truth. Cooking for her, buying lots of dresses, taking her out, and gifting her everything she desires are his ways of pampering her for now. The list is unending, though.

"The Teddy is adorable. I always wanted a teddy to cuddle but was sceptical of purchasing it. Thank you very much," Avni excitedly rambled on while Siddharth enjoyed her company.

The silence was never a problem for him before. He didn't have a 'Something is missing' feeling of being alone too. That's changing of late... Symptoms to be noted!

Avni breathed a sigh of relief, settling on the couch in front of the Television after long lunch.

Eating was the most challenging work in her dictionary, which now got promoted to Mount Everest Task. Yeah! Finishing her plate has become at least as complex as climbing Everest -All Thanks to Siddharth.

Siddharth laughed hard, amused by her expressions as she sulked, shuffling through the channels. He was about to climb upstairs when Avni questioned hesitantly, "Do you have work?"

Siddharth understood what she was trying to indicate. He learned reading her eyes in the past one month of their togetherness.

Siddharth quickly texted his PA to postpone the virtual meetings scheduled for the next two hours.

"What shall we watch?" Avni asked, turning to Siddharth, who sat next to her.

Siddharth did hesitate before sitting beside her, but Avni shifted slightly, making space for him without knowledge. These small gestures gave him hope of a happy life with her.

"Anything," Siddharth replied, taking a glance at her and returned to typing away on his phone.

Avni snatched the phone from his hand, whining, "This is not done! You cannot sit with me and browse. You did the same while we watched the movie too."

She expected him to yell, argue, knock some sense into her head, or silently glare at her like a particular someone would have done.

Siddharth made no efforts to grab his phone, to her surprise. He instead relaxed on the couch, suggesting, "How about a football match?"

"Football? Then I will start browsing," Avni giggled, expressing her disinterest. She thought for a while before coming up with an idea, "How about cricket?"

"Perfect! I forgot there's a match today -India Vs. Australia," Siddharth exclaimed enthusiastically, changing the channel and questioned, "Do you watch cricket?"

"Not really, except for World Cup! But I enjoy watching," Avni admitted. Every guy on her friends' list is a huge fan of cricket. She chuckled, recalling how none replied to her texts when a match was scheduled.

"The guys never reply when I text during a match! Every one of my friends is a cricket fan," Avni explained as Siddharth seemed confused by her sudden laughter.

"Your friends included boys?" Siddharth blurted out, surprised by the new revelation.

Avni took a moment to answer, not expecting the question. "Yes. There were way more boys in my friends than girls."

"I never thought you were the one to converse with guys considering how uncomfortable you felt with my closeness in the initial days," Siddharth expressed his analysis.

"Mmmmm... Talking doesn't make me awkward. Proximity does. To be frank, I feel uncomfortable even if the guy is my best friend," Avni tried answering as clearly as she could. One thing she sucks at is conveying her opinions.

She continued, "It's different with you, and I never felt uncomfortable. It was all new in the beginning, and I'm getting used to it." She could witness Siddharth smiling at the end.

It might lead anyone to a false impression that Siddharth is jealous of her relationship with the guys, but she knew better. He is only trying to know her.

"Who's your favorite player?" Siddharth questioned, playing the match. He didn't want her to stop talking, and this was his perfect opportunity to know her a little more.

"Ben Stokes from the minimal names I know! He fought till the last moment without giving up during the last world cup."

They finished watching the match talking about random topics, and Siddharth was happy for too many reasons -Avni requested him to stay; They spent quality time together; He got to know her a bit more.

Just when Avni was about to get up, her phone popped up with a Facebook Notification. An exciting idea crossed her mind.

"Do you have Instagram account?" Avni eyed him curiously.

"There was one during college days. I'm not active now."

"Because you lost interest?"

"No. Work keeps me busy. Moreover, I prefer calls and direct meetings. Friends ring me when they're here, and we catch up."

"Understandable."

"What?"

"Billionaire Siddharth Malhotra, The Owner of SM Automation, is a busy man to indulge in useless timepass activities," Avni dramatically chirped, earning laughter and a hit by a pillow from him.

"That was indeed the case when I established SM but not anymore. I landed in a comfortable zone where I could balance my personal and professional lives well after around two years of only professional life," Siddharth explained, recalling the days he started.

Avni got up, hearing a knock on the door.

"Should I water the plants, Didi?" The guard queried as she occasionally enjoyed doing it.

Avni glanced at Siddharth before replying, "We'll do it."

Siddharth settled on a bench in the middle of the lawn while Avni enthusiastically ran from one corner to the other, watering the newly planted saplings.

The trance was broken when he was drenched all of a sudden. Avni laughed hard from a distance witnessing him all wet.

Is he the one to keep quiet? Of course Not!

Siddharth grabbed a pipe and sprinkled water on her as she began running away with him following.

The day had been great so far -Peaceful, Relaxing, and Fun-filled.
