Fiery energy raced across the sky, corners of the symbol forming.

The Black Knight stepped away from the scepter, and a force field shimmered into existence around it. He then held his hand out, and his sword flew into his hands. Callum jumped up with Excalibur, charging him.

He tried using his shield and the blunt end of his sword, not wanting to injure his friend. The Black Knight took this as an advantage, blasting Callum with his sword.

The White Knight was thrown through the air, landing across the courtyard. Excalibur slid across the pavement.

Jupiter glared at the Black Knight,"Alright, you just made a big mistake. That was the nice guy. I'm not him."

Jupiter sent a powerful lightning bolt into the Black Knight, and he flew toward him. Their swords clashed against each other, and Jupiter sent an electrified punch into his face. He knocked him back with a swift kick, and he raised his sword, causing his own lightning bolts to crack across the black clouds.

The Black Knight melted into shadows, reappearing behind him. He struck Jupiter with a furious sphere of midnight energy, and he too was sent across the courtyard.

Jupiter landed a few feet from Callum, and he sighed,"Your friend's a jerk."

Above them, the symbol was being drawn by flame-like energy. Half the pentagram was formed, and its missing corners were quickly materializing.

Fletcher released a wave of arrows at the Black Knight, which he split in half with his sword. Fletcher threw a hand out,"C'mon!"

Kaia began to move her hands, and from a container on her side streamed out water. She constructed a spear of ice, and launched it toward the Black Knight.

The Cyclopean shot a beam that destroyed the spear, and Kaia dashed behind the tree flanking the rock Ezra was taking shelter from. She frowned,"A dragon would be extremely helpful right now."

Ezra looked up from the EMP device he was tinkering with,"If I can't amplify this device's range, we won't be able to disrupt that portal!"

Kaia ducked as the robot cleared the trees with a wave of its super-powered eye. The trees were left smoldering stumps, and ash flurried through the air like snow.

"I'm really beginning to hate that robot," Kaia huffed.

The sky boomed as the storm intensified, the symbol above almost completely formed. The clouds were rotating in a reverse funnel cloud, a whirlpool of darkness threatening to open.

From the street came an uproar of wind, and Wren flew into the courtyard on a tornado. She flung her hand out, and vehicles carried by the wind began to hurl toward the Black Knight.

The Cyclopean began targeting the airborne cars, exploding them in explosive blasts.

Vera ran into the park, helping Callum and Jupiter to their feet.

Wren entrapped the Black Knight in a vortex, and threw him across the park. She then threw her hands out at the Cyclopean, and the earth ripped apart from under it. A chunk of rock shot up from under the robot, flinging it into the nearby street in a mighty crash.

She dropped to the ground as her twister spun away, and the Sentinels gathered together. Ezra grinned as he put the device back together,"I think the EMP is strong enough. Now we just have to..."

The symbol above them fully formed, the unholy energy constructing a blazing pentagram over the sky. A ring of energy encircled the magic circle in the air, sealing the symbol. From the center of the pentagram opened up a vortex of darkness.

Plumes of black mist began to spew out from the portal, flying to the ground where they began to materialize. Dark smoke solidified into monsters with pitch-black skin, the Fomorians freed from their imprisonment after thousands of years. From the creatures' eyes sparked orbs of ghoulish green flames, their mouths opening to reveal rows of jagged teeth.

Ezra frowned,"Guys..."

Callum's face hardened,"Until we can close that portal, our job is to protect the innocent. Contain the battle. Don't let them spread into the city. Ezra, if any leave the danger zone, turn them to ash."

"Jupiter, you got to stop up that portal, keep it from spitting out monsters. Strike them down before they can touch the ground." Callum assigned.

Callum looked to Fletcher,"Hood, get somewhere high. You'll be our eyes in the sky. Take out any strays or outliers."

"Wren, I need you to evacuate the rest of the civilians," Callum instructed,"Protect them at all costs."

"Vera, Kaia," Callum stated firmly,"We're on the ground. Keep the Fomorians inside the defense perimeter."

The group took out their weapons.

Callum held Excalibur and his shield.

Vera's gloves hissed with energy.

Jupiter's sword crackled with electricity.

Ezra transformed into a dragon.

Kaia held her hands out, water swirling around her.

Wren's raised into the air, her hands glowing with light.

Fletcher nocked an arrow, aiming.

Callum grinned,"Sentinels, let's save the world."
