*13 years later*
Corpse's POV

"Come on Alex you are going to be late to school." I tell my son. You heard me. son.

"Five more minutes dad.."

"No Alex. Now. Come on." He sighs and gets up. I hear him shuffle through his closet. He comes out of his room 5 minutes later with a Nirvana t-shirt on, ripped skinny jeans, black converse and a beanie.

"Can I hang out with Ryan after school?" He asks me.

"Ryan can come here." I say. No special kissing on my watch.

"But dad.."

"Nope. He can come here. And the bedroom door stays open." His face turns a bright red.

I give Alex his breakfast before he runs out the door. I assume Ryan is outside. He's a year older than Alex and can drive.

I feel a pair of arms wrap around my waist and a chin on my shoulder.

"Can't shelter him forever. He's trying to figure himself out." Sykkuno tells me and I just nod. Who knows what else the future will bring us?

He's so grown up and all I can do is think back to the day I found him in the grocery store.
