Chapter 33 | Mass Grave

It truly was massive. There were dozens of unmarked graves. Each grave seemed to hold at least a few Hybrids. Altogether there were at least a hundred or so bones of Hybrids. It was quite easy to identify the bones of Hybrids because of their ears and tails. The most curious thing was that it seemed like there was at least one Bunny Hybrid in each unmarked grave.

"This is way too close to the location where Sunghee-ssi was found to be coincidental," Jimin noted.

The two detective Hybrids were under a single black umbrella. The entire sky was grey with the rain still pouring quite heavily.

"I think so, too," Namjoon nodded. "We should have searched the area more thoroughly."

"No hyung," Jimin shook his head. He could tell that Namjoon was thought that he was to blame for not being able to find the mass grave sooner.

When you had first asked to take a closer look at where Seunghee was found, the two detectives decided to take another look at the area. To see if they missed anything. They weren't able to see anything strange about the area so they called it a day and went back to the station to work on some other leads.

The very heavy rainfall of the typhoon season caused a single bone to be uncovered from the ground. They probably wouldn't have been notified for a while. But thankfully, it seemed like the heavens were trying to help the two detectives.

A car was driving down the abandoned road when his tires were punctured by some debris. The driver of the vehicle exited the vehicle to fix the problem. Since it was so dark, he had his flashlight on. As he was walking towards the back of the car, something caught his eye. It was the single bone that was sticking up from the ground.

He immediately informed the police department. The CSI descended on the crime scene. They put up a large forensic tent so that they would be able to dig up the bones away from the rain. It was then that the CSI realized that it was a mass grave of Hybrid bones. Which lead them to call the Hybrid Unit.

"That's 107 bodies we've uncovered so far," Eunwoo said with a shake of his head.

"How could this have happened?" Cheif Bang massaged his temples. "We don't even have these many Bunny Hybrids missing in our database."

"Well, if their entire pack goes missing, not a lot of people are going to report them missing. They would have just assumed that the whole pack moved to a different city or something," Namjoon guessed as he kept his eyes focused on the most recent body that the CSI team was digging up.

"And they might not have all gone missing in Seoul," Jimin also chimed in. His mind was racing. He couldn't help but think back to when Jungkook and Taehyung were almost kidnapped. If you and Yoongi didn't come across Jungkook and Taehyung... He didn't even want to think about it.

"Eunwoo, make sure they obtain the DNA of every single Hybrid," Chief Bang ordered.

"Yes, sir," Eunwoo said with a frown.

"As of this moment, this case is our main priority," Cheif Bang announced.

Jimin and Namjoon nodded along with all the other detectives in the area.

"The mole might have already informed whoever is behind this," Jimin said quietly to Namjoon.

Namjoon nodded. "This is a much bigger problem than we could have ever imagined."

"We need to find the mole," Jimin said as he began to look at the human detectives in the unit who were all busy in the field.

Jaebum was on the phone frowning as he was writing something down on his note. Rowoon was standing off to the side, seemingly deep in thought as he was looking at one of the unmarked graves. Hongseok was talking with Felix.

"What do you think?" Namjoon asked the Fox Hybrid who was observant.

"I have no idea," Jimin admitted. "We don't know the motive behind the kidnapping of Bunny Hybrids. If we can only find out why they need the Bunny Hybrids, it might help us find the mole."

"I think we might have to talk to Seunghee-ssi," Jimin said carefully. He knew fully well that you were protective over the Bunny Hybrid.

"Do you think she'll be up for it?" Namjoon asked as his eyes went on Hongseok. The only Human detective who moved from his position. While Jimin kept his eyes on the other three Human detectives who were still in their original position.

"I don't think we have much of a choice," Jimin said with a sad sigh.

"Hey," Namjoon suddenly said, as a thought popped into his head. "Did Y/N ever mention the friend who ran that license plate for her?"

"Yeah," he said after thinking. "It was that asshole who was with her in the hospital."

"Oh yeah," Namjoon said with a frown. "What was his name?"

"Seung- something," Jimin said with a scoff. "A pain in the ass, if you ask me."

"We'll have to talk to him, too. If he helped uncover the identity of Hwang Chanseong," Namjoon spat the name. "He might be able to help us find more information on him."

"That's true," Jimin nodded in agreement.

Although the Fox Hybrid didn't want to admit it, he was desperate. This case was going on for too long. And if that meant, swallowing his pride to talk to a hacker who flirted with you then so be it.

"Which reminds me," Namjoon spoke up. "I tried looking up the Leopard online."

"Did you find anything?" Jimin asked as he hoped for good news.

Namjoon frowned shaking his head. "His entire case file is classified. You can't open it unless you have direct permission from someone higher up."

"What?" Jimin frowned at the information.

"You know what that means, right?" Namjoon said in a very serious tone. "The Human mole either has a higher position in the department or has help from someone higher up."

"You're not implying that Chief Bang is involved, are you?" Jimin asked shocked.

"No," Namjoon quickly replied. "He wouldn't do that to Y/N-ie. He treats her like his daughter. All I'm saying is that we have to be very careful who we give out information to."

"I agree," Jimin nodded.
