Chapter 32 | Truth Revealed

To say you were surprised was an understatement. For the past few days, it was nearly impossible to see the two detectives that you lived with. They usually went to work before you woke up and came home very late at night.

So to see the two detectives waiting for your return was a strange sight to see.

"Y/N-ah!" Jimin exclaimed as he rushed over to where you were. He hugged you tightly.

"Yah!" Taehyung pouted. "It's my day with Y/N-ie, don't steal her away!"

"Yeah, I know," Jimin rolled his eyes but made no move to release you from his arms.

"You're home early," you pointed out.

"Why, don't you want us around?" Jimin asked, mocking hurt.

"No," you chuckled. "It's nice. I'm just surprised."

"Uh, Y/N-ah, we need to talk to you," Namjoon spoke up, choosing his words very carefully.

"Sure, what's up?" You asked.

"Taehyung-ah, do you mind giving us a few minutes?" Namjoon asked, looking at Taehyung.

Taehyung opened his mouth to protest but once he saw the stern and serious look of Namjoon, he just nodded.

"Fine," he pouted again. "Y/N-ah, I'll be in my room. You can come in when you're done talking with them." Then he gave you a sly wink before walking off into the direction of his room.

Your mind was racing. Jimin and Namjoon wanted to talk to you alone. You could only think of one thing.

"Is Seunghee okay?" You asked, nervously.

"Yeah, it's nothing to do with Seunghee, you don't have to worry about her," Jimin reassured you.

"Oh, thank god," you breathed. The tension in your body going away quickly. "Then what did you want to talk to me about?"

Jimin and Namjoon looked at each other. Silently pressing the other to talk. In the end, it seemed like Jimin won.

"We found out something about your assault case, and we wanted to ask you a few questions about it," Namjoon spoke carefully.

"Okay." Against your will, the tension returned to your body. "What about it?"

"Well, we have reason to believe that there is a mole in the Hybrid Unit," Namjoon admitted.

"What?!" You exclaimed. That was the last thing you expected to hear. "A mole? Are you sure?"

Jimin nodded rather firmly. "We went to interview the Hybrids you saved from being kidnaped a few days ago. We heard some new information that indicated that there was a mole in the unit," Jimin told you.

"In the case file, there wasn't anything specific written about the night the attempted kidnapping was taking place," Namjoon filled in.

"And there was no mention of the detective in charge," Jimin piped up again. "We have no idea who the mole might be, but the Hybrids told us that the detective in charge was a human."

"That is weird," you admitted.

"We tried to find the mole ourselves but nothing was panning out," Jimin explained.

"Do you know who was in charge of the case?" Namjoon asked, hopeful that you will be able to point them in the direction of the mole.

"No, I only know who was in charge of my part of the case," you told them with a frown. "Hongseok was the one in charge of my case. Unless he was in charge of my assault case and the attempted kidnapping case, I don't think the mole would be him."

"I see," Namjoon hummed.

It wasn't much, but it was something. Namjoon and Jimin were satisfied. Sure you didn't know a lot about the mole, but they had expected it. But still, with you clearing one of the humans, they were one step closer to finding out the mole.

You, on the other hand, were at war with yourself. Should you tell them? What you know?

The reason you were at war with yourself, is because you knew that the information you knew would practically blow the case wide open. You knew who the Leopard Hybrid was. The only thing stopping you? Your trauma.

But the mate bond was a curious thing. You felt more open to the 7 Hybrids than you did to the therapist that you had to see for a couple of months. You felt comfortable with them. You didn't feel the need to worry about how they'll see you once they knew the truth.

The trusting feeling grew in the days you spent with the entire pack. Getting to know everyone personally really helped that feeling of warmth and belonging grow.

"Um," you spoke up. You hadn't realized that Namjoon and Jimin were talking to each other. They looked up to see you. You were nervously picking at your fingernails. "I need to tell you something."

"What is it?" Namjoon asked worriedly.

(Warning: Mention of Sexual Assault)

They were all seated in the living room. Seokjin and Yoongi were already home, sleeping off the rut that ended just that morning so it wasn't difficult getting them to come to the living room. Taehyung was worried slightly that you called your first pack meeting before you scented him. But putting that fear aside, he hurried to the living room. Hoseok and Jungkook were at work but quickly returned once they heard that you had something important to tell everyone.

You were nervous. Very nervous.

"If it's too much for you, you don't have to force yourself to tell us," Jimin said softly.

Jimin was sitting right next to you, on your left. He rubbed your arm, trying to get you to relax.

You shook your head. Your mind was made up. Besides, you were afraid that if you didn't tell them that night, you might never get the confidence to tell them at all.

"Do you remember, when I moved in I told you that I figured out who tried to kidnap Jungkook-ie and Taehyung-ie?" You asked after taking in a deep breath.

Everyone nodded.

"Well, his name..." you took in a deep breath. "His name is Hwang Chanseong," you told everyone, but mostly to Jimin and Namjoon. They nodded. Burning that name into their memory. "I know it's Chanseong because..." you paused, slightly shaking at the memory that was creeping up. "I knew him. But I didn't recognize him until Sungjae told me his identity."

You heard gasps from around the room.

"He used to be a friend of Minho oppa. He was a year older than Minho oppa but he had to retake a year in middle school, so he ended up in the same class as Minho oppa," you began telling your story. "They became really close friends really quickly. So C-Chanseong came over to our house a couple of times."

You closed your eyes trying to disassociate yourself from the incident. "He always used to say how much he liked my scent. I just thought he was complimenting me and I think Minho oppa also just saw it like that too." You swallowed hard and Jimin and Seokjin immediately reacted by squeezing your hand. Almost a way to silently tell you that it was alright. "W-When I turned 14, I was home alone. Mom and dad were out working and Minho oppa was out with his girlfriend at the time. W-When Chanseong came over."

At that, the 7 Hybrids took a sharp breath in. They had a feeling of where your story was going to go and they didn't like it. Not at all.

"I-I thought that he was just coming over to see Minho oppa, so I just o-opened the door. I-I didn't know h-he was in h-his r-rut," you told them. Your eyes were already closed but you shut them even tighter. "As soon as I-I o-opened the door, he pushed me to the ground and s-started kissing my neck. I-I tried to get him off of me but he was too strong. T-There was something next to my head so I h-hit him with it. That seemed to make him release me, so I ran to my room and locked it."

There were growls coming from all the Hybrids. They wanted to find this Chanseong and rip him to shreds.

"B-But h-he b-broke down my d-door and he b-began to--" you couldn't continue.

"Oh, sweetheart," Seokjin said as softly as he could manage. "It's okay." He pulled you into his embrace and calmly rubbed your back.

And as if the universe could feel your pain and hurt, the thunder struck as the rain began to pour.
