Chapter 30 | A Ray of Sunshine

"You've reached the phone of the most handsome hacker. I'm not available right now, due to unforeseen reasons. If you're the police, I don't use this phone so get lost. If you're my friend, I may use this phone depending on who you are. Leave a message after the beep."

I couldn't help but chuckle at his recording. It was my first time hearing it after he got out of prison. 

It wasn't too odd that he wouldn't answer his phone. Sometimes he would purposefully leave his phone behind because according to him there were people listening through his phone and he couldn't trust the government. Other days he had his phone with him at all times claiming that it was his baby and he couldn't live a day without it.

After a while, I just learned to go along with it.

"Hey Sungjae, I got a call from Eunwoo and he said that he wanted to have a mini get-together. Just me, him, and you. Let me know what day works best for you."

As soon as I end my call, there was a knock on the door. I opened it to see a tired-looking Hoseok.

"Hoseok oppa?"

He chuckled when he saw my confusion.

"Yeah, I finished my rut before Seokjin-ie hyung," Hoseok confirmed. "You let him scent you, right?" I nodded. "That might be why his rut's lasting slightly longer than usual. I think he'll finish tomorrow along with Yoongi-hyung."

"Oh," I said with a nod.

"About that," Hoseok said looking at me with a smile. "I wanted to ask you if you were comfortable doing something."

"What is it?"

"Since tomorrow, Yoongi and Seokjin-ie hyung should be finished their ruts. I thought it might be alright to trigger the rest of the guys' ruts so that you won't be caught off guard again," Hoseok said looking carefully at me. "Of course, you won't have to scent all of them but one at a time. And since they are all Top Predator Hybrids, their ruts won't be long. Then we should be able to get all the ruts out of the way by next week."

"Sure," I said with a shrug. "That doesn't sound like a big deal."

"Really?" Hoseok asked cautiously.

"Mhm," I hummed with a smile.

"Alright," Hoseok returned with a bright smile of his own. "Jimin and Namjoon seemed to be very busy with their work right now, so maybe it'll be best to trigger Taehyung's rut first."

"Sounds good to me," I nodded. I thought that Hoseok would leave after that but he continued to look at me with a smile that was soft but I could tell that he was arguing with himself in his head. "Is there something else that you needed from me?" I asked tilting my head to the side.

"Maybe a kiss?" Hoseok said shyly. "Yoongi-hyung was bragging about kissing you. You know, during the times he wasn't clouded by his rut... And I might have slightly gotten a little jealous... But you don't-"

I went on my tiptoes and gave him a little kiss on the cheek, cutting him off from whatever he was going to say.

His cheeks flushed red as his ears and his tail twitched.

I couldn't help but let out a soft giggle as I saw how embarrassed he got. It was cute. As I leaned back, he grabbed my wrist and tugged me closer to him. I guess he thought I was stronger than I am because I ended up tumbling into his chest. My body pressed against his. This time I could feel my face heating up. I looked away.

"Don't look away," Hoseok said softly as he gently cupped my cheek and made me face him again. "You look so beautiful."

"I..." I blinked trying to find a suitable response to his compliment.

He chuckled as he gave me a small kiss on the cheek. "You're not used to getting compliments, are you?" He asked.

"Not really," I admitted. "Not when it comes to my appearance. Most of the compliments I got had to do with loyalty and my ability to throw a mean punch. But that's about it."

Hoseok laughed, causing me to laugh along with him. He really had an infectious smile and laugh.

"Then I'll make sure to shower you with compliments so that you're used to it," Hoseok said.

"I think I'll die of embarrassment," I said groaning and hiding my face in his chest.

"There, there," Hoseok chuckled as he playfully pat my back.

Instinctively, I wrapped my arms around his body in a hug. "You know, I'm really comfortable right now." I giggled.

"Me too," Hoseok nodded agreeing with me. "Maybe I can just have you for the day and we can figure out the whole Taehyung thing at a later date."

"What Taehyung thing?" A new voice rang out from the hallway.

I lifted my head from Hoseok's chest to see Taehyung looking at us with a raised eyebrow.

"Oh, sorry, did I catch you guys at a bad time?" Taehyung teased. "Wait!" He gasped as he looked at me then at Hoseok. "Did you decide to help us with our ruts?"

My face felt like it was on fire. I couldn't see my face but I was sure I was as red as a tomato.

"No, I'm done with my rut," Hoseok explained, but he made no move to get away from me, still holding on to me.

"Oh," Taehyung's voice sounded like he was disappointed. "That's too bad. I wanted to have a little one-on-one bonding time with Y/N."

"Well, you can have one tomorrow," Hoseok said with a smile. "We decided that we'll have you scent her to trigger your rut. But I'm going to have her for today."

"Oh," Taehyung sang as he wiggled his eyes playfully.

"Oh my god," I groaned as I hid my face in Hoseok's chest again.

"Well, then," Taehyung said with a happy nod. "Have fun hyung. Because tomorrow, I'm going to have her all to myself."

I could hear him skip down the hall to his room. As soon as I heard his door close, I looked up from Hoseok's chest to his face and gave him a smile when I saw that he was already looking at me.

"I think tomorrow's going to be a long day," I said thoughtfully.

"You got that right," Hoseok said with a laugh. "Taehyung's very affectionate, so you might want to be prepared for that. But, let's not think of Taehyung today. I want to cuddle with you all day today."

"I think I'm down for some cuddling," I said with a nod.
