Chapter 26 | Family Meeting

"How are you feeling bun?" Yoongi asked when Jungkook came out of his room with a trudge.

"Terrible," Jungkook answered honestly, his voice husky.

They had you wear Scent Blockers to bed, covered the space at the bottom of the door with a wet towel, and aired out the entire house so that your scent was nowhere to be found. The youngest Hybrid had calmed down, at least until the next wave of his rut.

After they were certain that you were asleep, Hoseok called a family meeting. Everyone was in the living room, waiting for Taehyung to come back from his studio.

Jungkook was understandably exhausted. Having a rut was excruciatingly painful. He lay down on the sofa, half asleep and half awake. He knew that Hoseok would never call a family meeting unless it was very important.

Seokjin was also nearly passed out on the sofa. Not that he minded, but being the only one to take of a mate during their rut was exhausting.

"I think I'm going to pass out after this meeting," Seokjin muttered as he rubbed his eyes.

"Me too," Jungkook agreed.

Finally, after what seemed like hours for Seokjin and Jungkook, Taehyung entered the home. Smiling widely and completely oblivious to the near solemn atmosphere of his mates.

"What's wrong?" Taehyung asked once he saw the completely dead look of Jungkook and Seokjin. Not to mention the very prominent smell of Jungkook which indicated that Jungkook was in his rut.

"Didn't you read the text?" Hoseok asked with a small chuckle at how carefree his mate could be.

"Maybe," Taehyung said with a sheepish smile.

"Come on, we're having a family meeting," Hoseok said as he motioned to an empty spot for Taehyung to sit.

"Sure, what about?" Taehyung asked then he turned to Jungkook and smelled the air around him. "Why's Jungkook going through his rut? Didn't he just have one?"

"That's what the meeting's for pup," Yoongi said with a smirk.

"Oh," Taehyung said with a nod. "I'm all ears." Taehyung's tiger ears flicked almost as a sign to show his mates that he was listening.

"Hyung, do you want to catch everyone up?" Hoseok asked, looking at Seokjin.

The older Hybrid sat up straighter, the sleep in his eyes completely disappearing.

"Alright, so, Jungkook has his rut because of the mental confirmation and mental stability that our pack is now complete with a female, with whom we can...well, to put it mildly, reproduce with. So all of our ruts would probably get triggered soon," Seokjin gave them the TL;DR of the situation.

Jimin and Namjoon looked worried while Taehyung and Yoongi looked shocked.

"So that's why Chief Bang looked at us weirdly when we walked into the station today," Jimin said with a gasp, as he finally understood.

Seokjin hummed. "Jungkook got his rut first because he is a Bunny Hybrid, and well, that was to be expected I guess. I'm guessing either Yoongi, Hoseok, or myself will get our ruts next."

"How can you know?" Jimin asked.

"Yoongi caught her scent first. Hoseok smelled her today as well. And I... well," Seokjin said as a blush formed on his cheek, causing Jimin, Namjoon, Yoongi, and Taehyung to look at him weirdly. "I might have scented her in the morning," Seokjin admitted shyly.

"What?!"
"You did what?!"
"I can't believe this!"
"Holy shit! When?!"

Taehyung, Jimin, Namjoon, and Yoongi all exclaimed at once, their voices getting mixed up. Hoseok immediately shushed them as you were in your room asleep and he didn't want to risk you getting up.

"As hyung was saying," Hoseok said trying to get everyone back on track. "Since our ruts might be hitting we need to establish something."

Seokjin nodded. "Normally, we would never lock ourselves in when we have our ruts but I think this time, we might need to lock ourselves in our rooms."

"Why?" Namjoon asked, his eyes flickering over to Jungkook who had a very guilty look on his face.

There was silence. The four that wasn't present looking at Hoseok, Seokjin, and Jungkook with clear confusion written on their face. They could pick up that something might have gone wrong, but no one was willing to step up and ask.

"I scared her, hyung," Jungkook said, his voice barely audible. Tears were threatening to fall from his eyes.

During the times between his waves, he would be reminded of how frightened you looked. How much fear was in your eyes when you looked at him. Any hope that he had of him having a good and happy relationship with you seemed to be ruined by his actions. He was beating himself over the fact that he got so aggressive. It made him feel like a monster.

"Namjoon-ah, remember how we thought that Y/N-ie was wearing Scent Blockers because of a trauma she had?" Hoseok asked, taking the attention away from Jungkook. Namjoon nodded. "Well, I think her trauma is because of something sexual. Either sexual harassment or sexual assault from a Hybrid, most likely during their rut."

"What?!" Jimin, Namjoon, Yoongi, and Taehyung all growled loudly at the thought of you being hurt sexually by someone. 

"Shh!" Seokjin shushed them with a glare. "Y/N-ie was struggling to fall asleep. Don't wake her."

"You should have seen her face, hyung," Jungkook said, a tear escaping from his eye. "She was so scared. She was scared of me." Jungkook buried his face into his hands.

"Bun, don't worry," Hoseok said softly. "I think she was just taken by surprise. She's not afraid of you. It was just the situation. She was worried about you."

"Really?" Jungkook asked hopefully as he looked up from his hands. Hoseok nodded with a smile, causing some of the tension in the younger Hybrid to disappear.

"Speaking of which, we need to start taking suppressants. Just to help control our rut," Seokjin announced. "We're lucky in a sense that Jungkook was the first one to have his rut. If it was any one of us Predator Hybrids, we could have done a lot more damage."

Everyone nodded in agreement.

"It'll just be until Y/N-ie is willing to take our relationship to the next level," Seokjin informed them with a smile.

"So starting from tomorrow, Seokjin-ie hyung and I will stay home," Hoseok announced. "Hopefully, we won't have multiple people in their ruts at the same time."

"I know, this might not be the right time to ask..." Taehyung said with a small and hesitant smile, "but her scent! What's her scent like?"

Yoongi, Jungkook, Seokjin, and Hoseok all exchanged knowing looks and smiles, making Jimin, Namjoon, and Taehyung grumbled in annoyance.
