Chapter 4 | Bangtan Restaurant and Cafe

Humming a simple tune, a Samoyed Hybrid was washing the dishes. It was one of the busiest times at the small and quaint Restaurant and Cafe. He didn't mind though. Seeing his restaurant doing well was a dream come true for the Hybrid.

"Seokjin-ah?" A Labrador Hybrid said in a questioning tone when he saw the Samoyed in the kitchen. Seokjin turned around and smiled at the Labrador Hybrid. "I didn't think you were going to come in today," the Labrador said with a warm smile. "Did something happen at home?"

Seokjin shook his head as he dried his hands. "Jimin and Namjoon wanted to come and have dinner here, so I thought I'd come in," Seokjin explained giving the Labrador a hug. "Sandeul-ah, can you look after the kitchen? I'm going to put a reserved plaque on one of the tables." The Labrador nodded as he rolled up his sleeves. "Thanks," Seokjin said thankfully.

Seokjin left the kitchen and headed to the hall. The restaurant was nearly full. He quickly grabbed a reserve plaque and set it on a small two-person booth. As he was heading back to the kitchen, he noticed a familiar face. With a smile on his face, he went to the table. He noticed that she was sitting with three others that he had never seen before. One male, one Bunny Hybrid, and another female.

[Y/N]

We were sitting at one of the tables near the window of a place called Bangtan Restaurant and Cafe. Apparently, it opened while I was in prison. Hyojung told me a lot about this Restaurant, all good things. According to Hyojung, the owner of the restaurant was good-looking and very gentlemanly. And the food was top quality for a simple and quaint establishment. So when my brother called to meet up for dinner to celebrate the fact that I got out of prison, we decided on the Restaurant and Cafe.

"There's so much food!" I exclaimed looking over the menu.

"You can order two if you want," Minho said with a shrug. "I did want to take you to a more expensive place."

"Oppa, the food here tastes a lot better than those five-star restaurants you wanted to take us to," Hyojung said with a giggle.

Minho rolled his eyes. "Come on, Hyojung, you need to understand. If I have any reason to spoil my baby sister, I will. It's not every day she gets released from prison," he said in a teasing tone.

"I'm not your baby sister. I'm your younger sister," I said glaring at Minho. I always hated that he called me his 'baby' sister.

"Oh come on, I basically raised you when you were a baby," Minho chuckled as he dramatically wiped a nonexistent tear from his eyes. "Those were the good old days. When my baby sister was an innocent little thing." I rolled my eyes with a laugh. Yeah, dramatic tendencies run in the family.

"Seunghee-ah, what do you want to eat?" I asked the quiet Bunny.

"Um... maybe just... salad?" Seunghee said in a questioning tone.

I knew she was uncomfortable around men. But when we told her about Minho, she was willing to come out and spend time with us. I smiled and nodded.

"Hyojung-ssi," a voice called out to my cousin. I looked up to see a very handsome Hybrid looking at my cousin with a smile. He looked to be very tall, not as tall as Minho, but still tall. "It's nice to see you here again. You haven't come for a few days, I was worried that you found yourself another restaurant."

Hyojung laughed as she shook her head. "I could never," she said with a giggle. "Seokjin-ssi, meet my family. These are my cousins, Minho and Y/N. And this is Seunghee, she's staying at my place for the time being." Then she turned to Minho and me. "This is Seokjin-ssi, he's the owner of the restaurant."

"Did you order yet?" Seokjin asked.

"No, not yet," Hyojung said as she turned to face me. "Did you manage to pick something?"

I pouted and looked at her with my puppy-dog eyes. "No, I'm having trouble picking. Why do all of these look so good?" I frowned as I looked back down at the menu.

Minho playfully rolled his eyes at me. "Good to see that your indecisiveness didn't go anywhere."

"Shut up," I said not even bothering to look up at him.

Seokjin lightly chuckled. "Do you mind if I surprise you with a dish?" Seokjin asked with a gentle smile. I looked up at him with surprise but then quickly smiled.

"Sure! That sounds good," I said with a nod. I was excited about the dish the owner of the restaurant was going to suggest.

"Great," Seokjin said with a firm nod. He received the order from Hyojung (since Seunghee was too uncomfortable to order on her own) and Minho and walked back into the kitchen.

As we waited for the food, Hyojung and Seunghee were talking quietly amongst themselves giggling together. Minho and I were caught up in our own conversation.

"So, how's umma and appa?" I asked. Although I knew that I was disowned and my parents didn't like me anywhere near them, I still cared for their well-being.

"Well, appa opened his eyes to the world of gambling," Minho said with a frown. "I've been trying to get him to stop, but he won't listen to me."

"Ha! And they think I'm the bad influence," I said with a laugh.

Minho rolled his eyes. "You are a bad influence."

"Oh come on."

Minho chuckled. "Alright." Then his demeanour suddenly changed to something more serious. "I really respect you, do you know that?"

I looked up at Minho. "Oh please, don't make this into another lecture," I groaned.

"Really," Minho said rather firmly. "You fight for the little guy. So often, society tells us to be weaker to the strong and stronger to the weak. But you don't. You're strong to the strong and weak to the weak. You know? It's rather commendable. It's a trait that you should be proud of. Of course, hitting someone to the point of them nearly dying is something you need to work on, but other than that, I have no problem with your little vigilantism."

Minho is a very passionate person. He will always turn something into a teachable moment. It's something that I love and hate about him.

Suddenly, Seunghee's ears twitched and she became visibly uncomfortable. She quickly shifted into a small white bunny. She was shivering. I looked to Hyojung, she was at a loss for words. Looking at me completely lost.

"She must have been triggered by something," Minho said very seriously.

I looked out of the booth, scanning the restaurant for anything that could have triggered Seunghee. Anger was rising in me, slowly but steadily. I didn't know much about Hybrids but I knew one thing. Hybrids only shifted into their animal form when something was horribly wrong.

My eyes narrowed at the sight in front of me. There was a female Hybrid. Who looked to be fresh out of high school. She was probably a worker at the restaurant, seeing her outfit. She had tears in her eyes, and she was shaking. She was standing behind Seokjin, who appeared out from the kitchen.

"It's just that I think of you as my own daughter," a man who looked to be in his mid-forties said with a slur. Pushing Seokjin aside and grabbing the female Hybrid's wrist. "Why don't you come and sit on my lap?"

I stood up from my seat, anger rising in me quicker than before. I was so close to snapping. I didn't need to be a genius to put two and two together. A Hybrid was being sexually harassed. The Hybrid's fear was probably radiating out of her as a warning to other prey Hybrids in the area, which in turn triggered Seunghee into her animal state.

So I knew two things. One, Seunghee was most likely sexually assaulted by a man. And, two, I was probably going to go back to prison, this time for killing a man.

I stomped over to the man. Without missing a single beat, I immediately threw a punch. Hitting him square in the jaw.

I could hear loud gasps from the restaurant. I grabbed the girl's wrist and pulled her behind me, protectively standing in front of her.

"What the hell?!" He exclaimed as he cupped his jaw.

I slapped him across the face.

"Why you-!"

I cut him off with another slap, putting more power into my swing. Maybe I was going too easy on him.

"What do you think -!"

I cut him off with another slap. Since he wasn't getting the message I decided to spell it out for him. "Apologize to her," I snarled at the man.

"I haven't done anything to her, you bitch!" He growled back at me.

I scoffed. "Don't make me repeat myself," I warned him clenching my jaw. "Apologize to her. Now."

He quickly grabbed my hair by the root, pulling my head back to face the ceiling. I poked the inside of my cheek with my tongue. "Really?" I asked exasperatedly. Quickly I kicked him in the balls. He let out a groan and bent over. When he bent over from the pain, I punched his ribs, hard, making him let go of my hair completely.

"You chose a wrong day to act like human trash," I said as I kicked him in the chest, causing him to fall backward into a table. I grabbed his collar and punched him repeatedly in the face. "Apologize to her. Now!"

"Sorry!" He gasped after I landed a few good punches on his face. But I didn't stop.

"Y/N-ah! He said 'sorry'," Minho said in a very firm voice as he grabbed my right arm, stopping me from throwing any more punches. Ripping me away from the sorry excuse for a human being.

"Yeah, but he didn't mean it," I snarled as I tried charging at him again. But Minho was gripping onto my arm very firmly. I noticed that my other arm was being held by someone rather tightly as well. I turned to my left and saw that Seokjin was grabbing onto my arm. For some reason, my anger disappeared quickly as if someone poured water on a burning flame.

"Fine," I sighed. "Did you call-?"

"He's on his way," Minho responded quickly.

I groaned. Sure, I missed Sihyuk, since he was a father-figure in my life, but I didn't want to see him in these circumstances a day after I was released from prison. I huffed as I shook free from Minho and Seokjin's grasp. I returned to the table where Hyojung was waiting for me. I looked at Hyojung's lap. Seunghee was still in her animal form. She was still shivering.

If I ever get my hands on the people who hurt Seunghee, I was going to kill them. That was a promise.
