I pull on a black dress which hugs my pregnant tummy. I've gotten so used to wearing William's shirts and hoodies that now it seems strange to wear a dress again. I sigh and take a few steps towards the mirror, trying to make myself comfortable.

After a minute I give up and go into the closet to look for something else to wear. In the end I'm wearing a white silk top with black pants and a black coat. At least it's not a dress. I brush my hair and let it hang loose around my shoulders. I'm putting away my make up when William walks into the room.

He had a meeting with some of his advisors, here in the palace. He takes off his tie and tosses it onto the couch before sitting down next to it. I close my make up drawer and turn towards him. He has his eyes close which makes me worry.

"Are you alright?" I ask, making him open his eyes and nod. "Just a little tired."

I heave a sigh of relief. I thought his arm was hurting again. It hurt him a lot two nights ago. There came a point when I though he'd start sobbing like a little child and then I'd have to put him to sleep but he didn't.

I pick up my phone and slide it into my pocket, saying. "I'm ready to go."

He gets up and walks towards the door while I take one last look at myself in the mirror before going after him.

------------------

The driver stops the car outside the glass door of the building's entrance. Will walks around to my side and helps me out. I straighten my top as the doors slide open and we walk in.

The murmur of several people talking at once greets me mixed with a light tune playing from the sound system. I looking around at the people when I feel an arm go around my shoulders.

"Come on. I want you to meet someone."

With this he takes my hand and leads me through the people, stopping here and there at random and greeting some of them. Finally he stops in front of a man about the same age as us.

"Ryan!" William calls out making him turn around and a smile appears on his face.

"William! It's been so long since I last saw you!" With this he envelopes William in a hug.

When they pull away William motions towards me. "This is Cassandra."

"Hi!" I say, holding out my hand which he shakes, saying. "You're nothing like William described you to be."

I turn to my husband with mock surprise on my face. "I would love to hear what you had to say."

"Ryan and I are childhood friends. We grew up together, our fathers were practically brothers. But then he moved to London and we lost contact." William tells me.

"That doesn't answer my question." I say.

Ryan laughs. "When we were...I don't know ten?" William nods and he continues. "We used to imagine what our wives would be like. And he always used to describe his as a Victoria's Secret model."

"What?" I laugh as William's face goes red.

"Come on. I'll introduce to mine." He says walking away.

I smirk at William before following Ryan through the crowd with William right behind me. He stops and I step around him to see that he stopped in front of a couch. A woman in a black dress stands up.

"This is my wife, Amy." He introduces us.

"Hi! I'm Cassandra." I say as we embrace.

"Of course I know who you are. Seriously, everyone does." Then she at once adds. "By the way, congratulations!" She says, yet pulling me in for another hug. She was definitely a hugger.

"Thank you." I say, smiling at her when I hear William ask. "What about you?"

Ryan points at the couch, making me realise that Amy wasn't sitting alone there. In a car seat, there's a little baby!

"A son." Ryan answers William's question.

"Oh my God! He's so cute!" I exclaim, walking forwards towards the seat and sitting down next to it. Amy sits down on its other side.

"How old is he?" I ask her.

"Three months." She replies, rubbing her son's cheek which makes him move his arms in joy.

I sigh. "You're really lucky to have such a lovely son."

She smiles at me from across the baby. "Thank you."

I look up to see that William and Ryan left us and are now standing some distance away holding glasses, laughing at something.

"Would you like something to drink?" Amy asks me.

"Yeah, sure." I nod my head.

She unstraps her son and lifts him out of the seat. He clings to his mother as we walk towards the two men.

"Ryan!" She calls put making him turn around. When he does so she hands him the baby, saying. "You're on father duty."

We leave the three guys and head towards the refreshment table. Amy pours herself some cocktail while I help myself to Coke.

"So, when are you due?" She asks, turning to me.

"Second week of October." I reply.

"Well, only a month left." She says, smiling at me.

"Yeah. It's really unbelievable." I tell her.

She sighs as if reminded of something. "The most surreal feeling is once you're finally done giving birth and get to hold the baby. Trust me, that will be unbelievable."

We both laugh at this as the two men and the baby come up to us.

"I have to sign some paperwork. Do you want to come?" William, asks. I nod my head and we both say goodbye to the other family before walking away.

I slip my hand into his and he laces our fingers together. When we reach his office he holds the door open for me and then closes it after us. He walks to his desk where a file is and opens it. He goes into his work mode as he flips through the pages with full concentration.

I sit down on one of the chairs in front of his desk and look around. After a few minutes, I start feeling sleepy and rub my eyes to try and wake myself.

"Tired?" He asks, making me pull away my hands to see him looking at me.

"A bit." I confess and then add. "It's not really easy to carry around two babies all the time."

He sets down his pen and closes the file before walking over to me. "It's not." He agrees, leaning down and kissing me. I leave one hand on my tummy and the other automatically moves into his hair. He pulls me up from the chair so that I'm leaning against him as we kiss.

After pulling away he kisses my cheek and then my forehead making me sigh.

"Let's go home." He says.

------------------

I tug on William's coat sleeve making him stop.

"What?" He asks.

"Can I drive?" I ask him.

"Are you sure?" He asks and I know what he means but I reassure him. "I'm sure."

He talks to the driver for a minutes before returning to me and handing me the keys. I get in behind the steering wheel and put on my seatbelt, might I add withy great difficulty when William slides in next to me.

"Ready?" He asks, tugging on his seatbelt.

I turn the key in ignition. "Yup!"

I pull out of the parking lot and start driving towards our destination. After a while William asks."We aren't going back to the palace, are we?"

I shake my head, my eyes still on the road. "No."

The rest of the drive passes in silence sigh William looking out of his window and me staring at the road ahead.

"What are we doing here?" William asks when I stop the car and turn off the engine.

"Helping you figure things out." I reply, getting out of the car.

"At the graveyard?" He asks and then realisation dawns on his face. "Oh!"

I take his hand and tug on it making him start walking. When we reach the gates I stop because I don't know where to go from here. With my hand still in his, William leads the way through the rows of graves till we reach one with fresh flowers and a gravestone that says.

Mother to the crown prince and wife to the king.

I sigh at the sight and look at William who instead of looking at the grave is staring up at the sky, which I might add is full of stars and really beautiful.

"Those stars are so pretty." He says and then looks at me. "Just like you."

I look away from the sky and turn my face towards him. "That's what you said..."

"...On our first official date." He completes for me.

I smile and him and then say. "We're not here to go over our dates. I presume you had a question to ask your mother."

"I do." He nods and then adds. "But I can't just get an answer all of a sudden. I need to stay here for a while."

"I can stay if you want." I offer.

"No, go home and get some rest. I asked the driver to pick me up in an hour. You'll be fine. The escort car's waiting for you at the round about." He tells me.

"Okay." I tell him and give him one last kiss before heading back towards the car.

----------------------------

I moment I get back, I change into William's shirt and climb into bed. These days just walking makes me feel like I ran instead of walked. I pull the covers up to my chin and inhale William's scent as I doze off.
