I sit in the living room working on the budget papers. For the first time I'm deeply engrossed but the sound of the door opening makes me look up.

"Hi!" I greet Helen as she closes the door.

"Hey! I thought I'd find you here." She replies sitting down on a couch across the room. "How far have you gotten with the report?"

I hold up the five pages I read in the past hour. She shakes her head in disapproval. "You need to focus on the task."

"I know but I just can't bring myself to do that." I groan. After a few minutes I add. "Did you get to meet the relatives you were planning to visit?"

At this a smile spreads across her face and she looks up at me. "Yes, I did."

"That's good." I smile back.

I work hard for a few hours till I start feeling hungry and decide to take a quick snack break.

I stroll down to the kitchens and go in. No one gives me any importance and go on doing their work which makes me happy because they listened to what I told them the first time. I walk over to the large refrigerators lining one wall and pull open a random one.

It's piled with vegetables and fruits of all sorts. I go through some shelves till I find something that appeals to me. There is a huge bowl with slices of watermelon. I carry it to a counter and separate some onto another plate and take it back to my work place.

I start and in a matter of minutes I'm done eating. This time I keep working for two hours straight till a nauseous feeling takes over me and a headache erupts inside my head like a volcano. I'm forced to lie down right there on the couch. I close my eyes and almost at once fall asleep.

I have the strangest dream and the funny thing is that what I do in it is something that I had at the back of my mind when I felt sick all of a sudden.

I wake up to the sound of the door opening. I open my eyes to find a housemaid stepping into the room with a broom and duster in hand. She stops abruptly at the sight of me in the room.

"I'm sorry. Ma'am Annabelle said that the room would be empty right now." She apologizes but I stop her by saying. "Don't worry, I was just leaving."

I gather my papers from the floor and walk past her out of the room. The moment I step out my dream comes rushing back to me and instinctively I start walking towards Helen's new office. I'm so lost in my own thoughts that I don't knock and walk straight in.

I look up to find her hurriedly stuffing something into a drawer which makes me realize my mistake and an "oops!" escapes my mouth.

"What do you want?" She asks me.

"Umm...I was thinking of going out for an hour. Though, we don't have to tell William or anything." I explain to her the best I can.

"Of course! I totally understand. Should I get a driver to bring a car?" She gets up and comes to stand in front of me.

"I was thinking that maybe I could drive myself." I word my thought.

"Alright! I'll get your car and an ambulance. Will that do?" She asks, smirking.

"Helen! Please!" I groan.

"Fine. But in case of an accident I'm not the one responsible." She states raising up her hands.

"That's fine." I tell her.

In a matter of minutes Helen gets a driver to bring a white Porsche to the front and she walks me to the car. "I still suggest that you take a driver."

I turn to her and place my hands on her shoulders. "No one is going to blame you in case of an accident. Remember?"

She sighs. "I don't care about the blame. I was just joking about it. It's you I really care about and don't want to watch get hurt."

I give her a warm smile and pull her in for a hug. Her hug gives me comfort and for a moment my nausea doesn't bother me either.

I slide into the driver's seat and she closes the door behind me. I replay Will's words in my head and follow his instructions. In a matter of seconds I've driven out of the palace gates and I take a deep breath to keep myself steady against the nausea and headache.

I drive to my destination which I know isn't far off since I saw it every time I drove past it before. I park the car outside the pharmacy and go in.

There are several attendants but most of them are busy except a girl who's painting her nails on a counter in the corner. I walk to her and ask for what I need. She stares at me for a minute and then asks. "You're Princess Cassandra?"

I lower my voice. "Yes, and can you please keep this a secret?"

She nods and hands me the box, I ask for. I take a deep breath and head towards one of the bathrooms. The moment I close the door I bend over the toilet seat and throw up.

---------------------------

I stop the car in the parking lot and walk towards the building. The last time I visited a hospital was because of my mother. I climb the steps and walk towards the receptionist who is talking on the phone. I wait for her to finish.

"I need to see Doctor Maria." I tell her.

"Do you have an appointment?" She asks, without look up from her phone.

"No." I reply.

"Then you can't because she only sees patients on an appointment." She replies in an irate voice.

I place my hands on the counter and lean forward. "Are you sure that even I need an appointment?"

At this she looks up at me and her phone slips through her fingers and onto her lap. "Princess Cassandra! I am so sorry. I'll notify the doctor right away. Please head to her room, its room three on this floor."

"Thank you." I smile and head off in search of the right room.

After wandering around for a few minutes, I end up outside the right room and knock on the door. A voice calls out. "Come in!"

I open the door and step in to a voice exclaiming. "Cassandra!"

"Aunt Maria!" I walk over to her and she hugs me, saying. "It's been so long since I last saw you. And look at what's happened over that time?"

Maria is not really my aunt. Her husband was dad's closest friend. They were practically brothers, so I grew up calling them aunt and uncle. But he passed away when I was around twelve. So, now she's a widow with no children.

She pats my cheek and asks. "Now, what brings you here?"

--------------------------------

I pace the room as I think over what I'm going to say one last time. It's almost midnight but I can't go to sleep because I'm too hyped about the news I have.

The door opens softly and William steps in. He frowns at seeing me up so late. "I thought you'd be asleep by now."

He sets down his laptop bag as I say. "I know but I just couldn't bring myself to sleep...Because I have something to tell you."

"What was so important that it couldn't wait till tomorrow morning?" He asks and takes a seat on the couch's arm.

I take a deep breath and open my mouth to speak but no sound comes out. I open and close my mouth but nothing happens. In the end I sigh and say.

"Hold on."

I grab a Gap bag from the bed and hand it to him. He looks down and it and asks. "What's this?"

"If I could've explained it, I would've done that before." I reply.

He opens the bag and reaches inside for the single little jumper which has a large orange circle in the center that says, "I love my dad."

He mouths the words and as the meaning becomes clear to him his eyes widen and he keeps staring at the jumper in his hand. For a few minutes he sits as still as a statue and says nothing.

But then he starts to recover. "Cassy...Does this mean that...?"

"I'm pregnant!" I complete for him.

This makes him look up at me with a few tears glistening in his eyes just like mine. But then a smile breaks across his face and he walks over to me. He comes to stand a few feet away from me and asks. "Are you sure?"

I nod my head. "I took a pregnancy test and the results were positive. I even got an ultrasound done."

He shakes his head as if clearing his head. "What's wrong?" I ask suddenly worried.

"Nothing. It's just that...Do you want this?" He asks looking me in the eye.

I nod my head. "Of course I do. What makes you think that I don't?"

"Cassy, you're twenty one and I'm only a year older. I'm just worried about..." He trails off again and I complete for him. "The people."

I take a deep breath and walk up to him. "Tell me something. Do you want this?"

He nods. "Of course. I always imagined what it would be like to have a little family of my own and now I have the chance to experience it."

I take hold of his hands and move closer. "Then don't worry about anyone else. Let them think what they want to. This is what we want, so I don't care what the others think."

He looks at me for a few moments with a new confidence in his eyes and then kneels down in front of me so that he's level with his child which has barely even started development.

He touches his forehead to my flat stomach and I run a hand through his hair. After a minutes he stands up. Kissing my cheek he says. "We're going to be parents!"

This brings the story to it's name "The Royals & The Baby."
