I sit staring at the wall in front of the armchair I'm sitting in when I feel one of them kick me. I place a hand over my large tummy and rub it lightly. I lean over the arm of the armchair and pick up the glass of orange juice that Anna brought me a few minutes ago.

I raise the glass to my lips and take a sip. I'm swallowing it when a voice whispers in my ear.

"Do you know what date it is today?"

I shift in my seat to look at William who's sitting on the table next to the armchair. This makes me realize that I really don't remember what date it is.

Shaking my head I reply. "No, I don't."

"Seriously?" He asks, raising an eyebrow.

I shake my head again and he leans forward resting his elbows on his knees. He lifts his head to look at me and like always the loving look in his eyes makes my heart melt. He reaches over and kisses my cheek.

"Happy Birthday."

"What?" I blurt out.

"It's your birthday. 15th June." He replies.

"Oh! I didn't remember that." After a minute I add. "Wait. But last year you..."

"I proposed to you on your birthday which means that it's been a whole year since we got engaged." He smiles at me.

I can't help but smile too. I reach out and pull him to me before pressing my lips to his. His hands move to my back. When we pull away I put my arms around his neck and press my face into his neck.

"I can't believe you actually remembered." I say.

He kisses my head. "How could I forget?"

I pull away and he gets up from the table. "I had plans for lunch."

"I really don't think that I should go out because..." I point to my protruding stomach as an explanation.

"Who said we were going out?" He asks, smirking.

"What do you mean?" I ask, frowning.

He shoves his hands into the pockets of his black corduroy pants. "I was thinking that maybe we could cook something for lunch together."

This surprises me. "We? Do you even know how to cook?"

"No. But you do and I'll help you the best I can. But I really want us to do something together. Consider me desperate. That is if you actually want to do it." He replies.

"I'd love to." I smile at him.

He holds out his hands to me and helps me out of the armchair. Taking my hand he leads the way out of the study with me right behind him. When we get to the kitchen, he holds open the door for me as I step past him into the kitchen.

"Where is everyone?" I ask him.

"I asked the cooks to prepare lunch for everyone else earlier than usual and instructed Anna to make everyone steered clear of the place. By the way she knows that we're here."

By now he's leaning against the counter with his hands in his pockets.

"What do you want to make?" I ask moving towards him.

"What do you want?" He asks. "Actually, wait. Don't answer that because I already know. Pasta."

"You got it right." I laugh. "We could make spaghetti with marinara sauce."

"Marinara sauce?" He asks, confused.

I smile at his confusion. "It's a red sauce made of tomatoes."

"Oh that!" He says nodding his head in understanding.

"Yeah that." I reply walking towards the cupboards which I know hold the cookware is kept. I open the cupboard to realize that the pans I need are on the bottom shelf.

I turn to William for help. "Could you get them out for me? I really can't bend down."

He takes out the ones that instruct him to and then turns to me. "What's next captain?"

"Can you fill one of them with water and put the spaghetti in to boil?" I ask him not sure if he'll be able to do it. But he replies.

"Come on! I'm not that stupid!"

I gather the ingredients needed for the sauce and put the pan on one of the stoves spread out on one side of the kitchen and add the ingredients to it. After stirring them all together I leave cover the pan and leave it to cook on its own.

I look over at William to find him hopelessly standing over the pan looking at me.

"What is it?" I ask.

"I don't know where the spaghetti is." He complains throwing up his hands like a little child who didn't get what he wanted.

"I though you said that you could handle it." I tease him moving towards the shelves where the packets of various things like spaghetti are kept.

"I can handle it, it's just that I don't know where it is." He groans as I hand him the packet.

He lights the stove making me grin and say. "Thank God you know how to light a stove."

"Told you I wasn't stupid." He says as he puts the spaghetti into the pan.

I frown that him. "What are you doing?"

"Putting in the spaghetti just like you asked me to." He replies.

"I said boil the spaghetti. How do you intend to boil it without water?" I ask taking a seat on one of the stools next to the counter opposite from William.

"You're supposed to out in water?" He mutters moving to put in water.

I smirk and tease him again. "And I thought you said that you we're stupid."

After finally doing it right he walks to the fridge and takes out two cans of Diet Coke, one of which he hands me as he sits down next to me.

"Thanks." I say opening the can and taking a sip.

"There is something that we need to discuss." He suddenly says making me look at him.

"What?" I ask taking another sip.

"The Royal Proclamation." He replies, setting down his can on the counter.

I raise an eyebrow. "The what?"

"An announcement to tell the rest of the world about your pregnancy." He replies taking my hand.

"Oh! When do you think we should do it?" I ask him.

"The first week of July which is next month." He replies rubbing my hand.

"Alright." I nod my head.

At the same time I glance at the clock and see that it's time to take the pans off the stove. I stay put as William does what I tell him. I instruct him to put the spaghetti in a dish and then pour the sauce over it.

"Taste it." I say after he's done.

He picks up a fork and scoops some of them onto it.

"Well?" I ask once he's swallowed.

"I didn't know that I was such a great cook." He remarks patting his own shoulder proudly.

We laugh together as I take the fork from him and taste it for myself.

"Mmm." I mumble.

"Mmm what?" He asks.

"You were right, you are a great cook." I comment, smirking.

"Told you so."
