"H-ope..."
The name slipped through her lips as the sight of the huge white wolf in front of her. Her eyes were bright gold as she pierced straight into the brown irises. Looking at the brunette she realised they have the typical connection with pain, it caused her to leave and it was pain which brought them back together in front of each other.

For an intense moment they just stare at each other not saying another word. She realised the time and place as she broke the eye contact with the wolf. Standing on her feet. The wolf whine at the lost of her longing stares. The brunette heard the breaking sound of the bones as the wolf starts to shift in her human form. She did not let pass the fact that if the tribrid shift in front of her she would be naked but Hope didn't care about that at the moment. Her only concern was to make her mate feel safe.

For all these past months she tried to move on from the heartbreak. And she did. Which is what she always tell herself when she accepted her rejection. She knew mate bond was implicit, never meant to be broken. She also knew even if she would find someone other than her mate, she would never be able to fully overcome from the heartache she felt every day because of the distance between them. Not only physically but mentally.

She blamed herself for expecting that from the tribrid. She would never have believed in the fact that fates always brought them together. Her long childhood crush on the tribrid was the beginning of it. Hope was always a closed person, never let her guards down to trust anyone. She seemed relieved that she didn't had a mate when she turned 16. The siphoner should've known they are never meant to be. The interaction between them at the night of the talent show was only a heat of the moment and she expected she would have her together forever which she always wanted. Fate's a bitch.

Came to the reality she immediately stand from the ground before the wolf in front of her would shift in her human form. She was hobbling back to the campus as her body was weak because of the pain she went through few minutes ago. She heard a loud growl but didn't turn back. She wasn't ready to face Hope. She was afraid if she would stay she would never be able to fully recover from the rejection. The rejection which was the tribrid's choice. She didn't even consider her mate's feeling or her opinion about them being mates.

She stopped by a hand holding her arms. The touch send sparks through her body as she felt the remaining weakness in of her body reduced. The hold on her arms was firm and soft but strong which cause her to turn around only to meet eyes with the golden ones. She swallow thickly with the different kind of emotions building inside of her. She tried to deny every one of them.

"Jo..."

----------------------------×-------------------------

The tribrid started to shift in front of her. The only thing coming to her mind was holding her mate as close to her that she would calm her. Her wolf was getting out of control as she felt the breaking of her bones and again shifted back to her human form.

She realised as the brunette move past her, trying to get away from her and her wolf didn't like it. She knew Josie would run away from her she expected that behaviour from her. Not that she deserves her forgiveness but she needed her to forgive her. She wanted to talk to her, tell her how miserable she's been these past months without her. She wanted to tell her that she regret rejecting her, that she needed her back in her life. She wanted her mate to be hers only.

She completed her transformation. She turned around to find the brunette few meters away from her. Her wolf growled at the distance between them. She doesn't know what to say to her not that her words could mend her broken heart. She had to try at least. She muttered a quick spell and her clothes appear on her body. She walked fast at her direction as her heart starts to beat in a rhythm.

Her wolf was on surface as she couldn't control it anymore and her eyes glow in her prime, screaming inside her mind. Do not let go of her. She grabbed the brunette by her arms not intend to let her go. She felt the spark as she touched her mate. Her wolf squeals in happiness feeling the mate bond she feared would broken but it wasn't the case. She can feel the bond existed between them and there is nothing else she wanted at that moment but to be near her mate as long as she could.

"Jo..."

--------------------------×-------------------------

The brunette just stand there not saying anything. She was trying very hard not to look at the golden irises who was staring at her. The tears threatening to fall from her eyes
"Don't go..." The tribrid tried to mask her dominance, fight to be back in control. The brunette was still silent. She could see the sincerity in her eyes only if this were the former situation and the tribrid asked her to stay... she would've gave up on anything just to fulfil her request.

Staring deep into her eyes she finally able to regain her control on her wolf. She blinked few times and her eyes turns to blue. Filled with guilt and desperation.

"I'm..." She started but felt like her voice betrayed her at the moment. She has a lot to say but didn't know where to start. She chewed her inner cheek try to form words

"You're in pain... I felt that too" she tried to make the conversation trying not to show her desperation.
"Are you okay?"
The brunette was still silent processing everything the tribrid jut said to her. It was the first time she was alone with her without Lizzie or Sophia near her.

The tribrid's concerns seems like she cared about the girl. The fact that their bond isn't broken made her feel that too. But it didn't bothered her before why now? She was relieved when she rejected the unwanted relationship she was forced by the fate to being the siphoner's mate. So why does she cared even if Josie's in pain? When she was the first person who have hurt her so badly which made her life in vain.

Hope was getting frustrated by not receiving a response from the brunette. But the desperation gets the best of her
"Please say something..." She pleaded which broke Josie from her trance

"What do you want me to say Hope?" Josie snapped at her "Stand here and pretend that what happened few minutes ago wasn't entirely your fault" her voice laced with venom as it was hard for her too. She never really talk much about her and the tribrid's relationship and with good reasons.

Hope remain silent. Josie was hurt and angry. She has every right to speak to her like that. And this was eating her alive that she was the reason of it.
"I... jus..." The tribrid wanted to say something but the brunette interrupted her
"Don't bother Hope, I will make sure you won't feel that pain again. So you don't have to pretend that you actually care about me being in pain" her words pierced the tribrid in the heart like a burning iron. She may never showed that but she had and have always cared about the brunette. The slight tears were forming in the curve of her eyes but she didn't let it fall. She doesn't want to show her weakness.
"Leave my hand" the brunette demand sternly but the tribrid didn't release her, afraid if she'd do that she would lose her again.
Josie tried to pulled away her hand from her but Hope had a firm held on her strong enough not easily to escape her grip.

The tribrid was staring at the brunette eyes this whole time and the hate and anger from her killed her but more the hurt.
"Let me go" The brunette yelled again.
"Jo..."
"NO... you do not get to call me that" the brunette was losing control over her emotions she buried deep withing her for past ten months.

"Only my friends are allowed to called me by that name"
"I'm your mate" the tribrid whispered but Josie heard her as she was clinging to her body by the tribrid who held her against her own body.
"Mate..." The brunette chuckled a humorous chuckle "Who rejected me the second she get afraid of the consequences of her being a tribrid" Josie pulled away her hand and this time the tribrid let her maintaining some distance between them.
"Or maybe the fact that you never wanted me because you already had a boyfriend... it doesn't matter anymore" She stepped closer to the tribrid "What you did was selfish and unfair and I have to pay the price of being the rejected mate of the almighty tribrid that I have to spell myself to sleep every night because our soul doesn't know the human ways. So no you doesn't get to touch me or talk to me cause I'm not your mate anymore"
The brunette choice of words hurting the tribrid but she had her reasons only if the brunette would listen to her for once. Josie stepped away and turn to move back to the campus but the her mate's voice stopped her.
"You think I wanted this..." The tribrid yelled at her "I never wanted a mate Jo-sie" the brunette turned back to look at her again. The tribrid's eyes were flickering between gold and blue.
"Then you turned sixteen and fate doomed us to be mates. I am cursed even before I was born. Or being a Mikaelson was enough to have numerous enemies on my back" The tribrid came closer to her
"I did the right thing by letting you go cause I didn't want you to get hurt because of me" her voice became lower as her eyes stayed as normal blue.
"And I just want you to be safe because I do care about you"
"You know what's the irony here Hope... that you are only person who hurt me the most" The tears escape her eyes but the brunette blink away her falling tears and turned back to the the school campus. She let her tears fall from her eyes but didn't looked back to took a glance at the tribrid she left behind.

She reached to her room and closed the doors. Lizzie wasn't there and she assumed she would be at the dance. She fell on her knees laying her back at the door, crying. She thought coming back was supposed to be help her case, made her feel relax. She was home but her heart ached at past memories. The conversation between her and the tribrid keep repeating in her head and she hated every bit of it. She hated her mate because she was a coward who let her go because of her own insecurities which was an useless excuse to her. It was her choice and the tribrid took away her choice from her. She didn't only just break her heart but she break her little fairytale where the main characters overcome every problems in their life and get their happy ever after. In Josie's life, she had a sad and tragic story which didn't include the word 'love' but only 'pain'.

--------------------------×------------------------

The tribrid watched her mate walk away from her and she felt like she was losing her only chance to make things right. Her chance to ask for her forgiveness but the brunette wasn't in a mood to listen to her and she couldn't blame her. She blamed her wolf nature to lose control for some moments and snapped at the brunette. She wanted a normal and mature conversation between them but it didn't seem to possible, not for a long time for sure. Her wolf howled as she felt the pain she caused her mate. She felt her heart shattered all over again, her mate was in front of her and she couldn't even embraced her. She asked her not to touch her or talk to her. Seeing her everyday in front of her with someone else whom she laugh with, talk with and embraced them in her physical embrace but the tribrid would not allowed to even talk to her. It would be worst for her. She lived months without her mate and now that she was in front of her she had to pretend as a stranger. It was impossible. The tribrid would never agree to that.
Josie's last words repeated in her head.
"You know what's the irony here Hope... that you are only person who hurt me the most"
She was sure it was the mate bond making her feel vulnerable but it was the same thing which made her feel connected to the brunette. Being able to connect to her and feel her was the most exquisite feeling she felt in a long time.

All she was feeling at the moment was the hurt and pain. She hurted her mate and it was the pain radiated through their bond. She didn't understand it's only been less than 48 hours then why she felt the strong mystical connection to her mate, correction- her rejected mate.

The mate bond doesn't work that fast then what was it that they both being pulled towards each other. Hope has so many questions and unknown to her answers all she could do was felt the burning sensation in her chest. She fell on her knees and break down in the emptiness. Nobody was there to wipe away her tears and made her feel safe. Her parents died years ago and all she wanted and had left was her mate.
Her remains family always cared about her, she knew that but they didn't know what was happening to their beloved neice in past few years as they had lack of communication with the tribrid.

-----------------------------×-------------------------

Lizzie think about her conversation with the tribrid and deep down she knew Hope always had her reasons for the decision she made but her sister instincts were higher than any other lame choices and selfish decision. She went outside to find the tribrid to ask her about her confession of being a tribrid to destroy malivore. She wanted her sister to be happy and Hope was the one who can do that.

When she move past to the dance area, she felt the presence of Sebastian being near her. She knew what she felt for the other vampire was somehow not fair to her relationship with her mate but they were in a open relationship, she could chose whoever she want to be with and besides it was all her misunderstanding. She was hallucinating a centuries old vampire as her boyfriend who didn't exist. The thing with her and MG. It was always complicated. What more complicated was that he hid the fact that he knew the reason of her sister being away from her all those months. He lied to her and she didn't know if she would forget that easily. She would forgive him but not very soon.

She looked around but didn't find her hallucinating mystery man. She let pass those uncertain emotions and went outside only to find the tribrid falling on her knees as she grabbed her chest and the silent tears were escaping her eyes.

"Hope Andrea Mikaelson..." She called her name like she called her many times before. The tribrid looked up to find the blonde twin in front of her. She immediately wipe out her tears as she tried to wipe her sadness with it. Lizzie offers her hand to help her and the tribrid didn't argue but take her hand and stand up.
"What are you doing here Lizzie?" The tribrid asked her voiced was heavy.
"I was having an episode... I think' Lizzie replied while she took away her hand.
"But what are you doing here. definitely wolf doesn't eat grass. So... what happened?" Lizzie asked the tribrid.
"It's nothi..." Lizzie glared at her that says 'I want you tell me the truth' The tribrid sighed
"Josie and I got into an argument... okay" She finally said it.
"What... I told you to stay away from her Hope" Lizzie exclaimed
"And I told you I can't do that" the tribrid replied and moved past the blonde but Lizzie grabbed her hand
"Look I know you guys are mates and you feel the need to be near her and all but you hurted her so bad" She said to the tribrid. Hope just looked at her
"And as much as I hate to admit it but she needs you as well. She needs to move on and she can't do that if you guys won't solve your issues. So it's your only chance Mikaelson- make it up to her" She added
The tribrid noticed the genuine concern in her eyes as she nodded at her
"Thanks Lizzie"

"But first we need to know what's the deal about my sister's new saccubus friend" They both glanced at each other as an idea dropped in her mind and definitely an evil one.

Sophia wake up next day in the bed with Jed. Who was still asleep. She satisfied her desire but her urge to go back to the phoenix boy wasn't deprived. She still felt that she should go check on him, talk to him and be in his company.

She removed the covers from her body as she was naked underneath it. She went to the bathroom and took a long shower. All she could think about the certain someone, his curly dark hair. His deep piercing eyes, his lips as he smile at her or the blush on his face when she made a comment. She didn't understand what was happening to her. She has slept with the numerous people in her life but never have she felt about this way for someone in particular.

She came back in her undergarments but Jed wasn't there. He probably left when she was in shower. The night with the wolf boy was reminiscing only if she didn't have thought about the other person. Her charms on him were probably wear off by now. He had no reason to stay and he might be familiar with the concept of being in charms of a saccubus, which was enough for him to leave the blonde girl's room right after he was awake.
She put on her outfit for the day but her thoughts were carried away with some uncertain emotions she never felt before.

She had a guess, call it a hunch but she knew what that might be. She didn't know if her doubts were true what she would do. She had to find out to confirm her doubt.

Finding a witch in a school full of supernaturals wasn't a very hard task. She charmed a witch and made her do the spell which would confirm or deny her objection.

And what she found terrified her not because she didn't wanted it because she didn't know if she'd able to control her hunger. What would happen if Josie found out the truth, she was the only friend the saccubus had in a very long time. She couldn't hide this very important information about her life from her.

She find the brunette at common room, she was reading a book when she approached her.
"Soph, I didn't see you since yesterday" the brunette said with a smile although she had seen her with the phoenix boy yesterday. Sophia noticed the dark circles under her eyes
"Were you crying cause I can see that you didn't sleep well last night" she replied taking seat on the chair near the brunette "You didn't take your meds" She concluded
"I'm actually reading about it" She show the saccubus the journal she was holding which belonged to her dead uncle Luke.
"Well tell me about it sweetheart" Sophia smirked at her. Josie looked at her skeptically
"I will but first tell me do you have something you didn't tell me yet?" She asked the saccubus
"It nothing babe" Sophia grab her hand tried to kissed her palm but Josie pulled away.
"Really??? Cause I have an interesting meeting with Jed this morning half naked right outside your room" Josie said her and Sophia chocked on her saliva. She didn't follow Josie's rule
"It was just one time... I will listen to you from now on okay" She tried to grab Josie's hand again but Josie didn't let her. She was mad at her.
"No Soph, you always said the same thing every time and look where it got us" She refers to the people who's after Sophia because of some unknown reason she didn't know.
"I know and I'm sorry that I put you in my mess too" She said in a low voice.
"Sometimes I feel like you know everything about me but I don't know anything about you" The brunette said in despair. The saccubus sighed
"You're my only friend Jossete Saltzman in a very long time and I never meant harm to you" Sophia said holding the brunette's hand.
"I know Soph that's why we have to figure out who is after all this attacks" the brunette
