'Thoughts'

It all started small, with decorated vases falling and even some silver wares.

Then, it slowly escalated to doors closing and opening by themselves.

Items that had been placed in their original location were unexpectedly relocated from their previous spot and are sometimes missing.

It became so worrying that even Deruth had started to consider asking for help from priests and even exorcists.

However, there seemed to be one thing they did notice, the ghost seemed to particularly target the count for some reason.

So rumors started to spread that the count might have angered someone or something.

Well, at first they thought it was someone playing a prank, but with the unexplained... paranormal activities, they started to doubt it. And who would even dare to prank the Lord of their territory? You're practically asking to be banished or, worse yet, executed.

Deruth, of course, didn't want these rumors to spread throughout his territory as it might cause some panic, so he asked for the assistance of one of his trusted servants.

And who does he ask for help?

Of course, it's the trusted servant, Deputy Butler Hans.

"Count-nim, may you elaborate on the things that have been happening around you?" asked the very serious butler.

"I have been getting bad luck wherever I go," Deruth said slowly.

"Oh, can you share some of it? " questioned the butler, who, for some reason, had changed from his butler attire to the appearance of a detective holding a notepad in one hand and a ... magnifying glass in the other.

'Where did he get those?'

"Uh... When I would open a door, a bucket of water would suddenly fall on me. When I asked Ron to investigate, he said that he didn't see anyone do it. There are also times when I feel as if someone is... following me down the hallway..."

"No, it is more like... someone is watching me. " Deruth couldn't help but shiver at that thought, and those were the tamest of the weird things that happened to him this past week.

Hans positioned himself in a thinking post as he looked at the notes he had taken, "Hmmm... Count... I believe you might have angered a spirit. "

"Maybe? However, why are they do- " As Deruth was about to sit down, his chair broke and he ungracefully fell down the floor.

"..."

"..."

Hans, who suddenly was wearing a priest outfit.

'Seriously, where did he get those?!'

He watched as the young butler quietly took out some holy water from... somewhere and started to use it to bless around the room.

"May you find peace and forgive this sinful soul."

"..." Deruth could only watch Hans do his... whatever that is.

"Hallelujah! Forgive and forget. "

Hans took out a bucket that contained more holly water.

'Where did he-okay, I give up' Deruth quickly ignored his thoughts, not wanting to give himself more headaches, and just accepted that the bucket was maybe just lying down in his office... for some reason. Yup, that might be where Hans got it.

As that was happening, they suddenly heard someone knock at the door before it was suddenly opened.

And it just happened that when it opened, that...

Hans "accidentally" tripped, making the bucket fly towards the person at the door.

"Father, you cal-"

*Crash*

"..."

"..."

"..."

In the now silent room, the only thing that could be heard was the dripping sound of the holy water as it soaked the oldest young master of the Henituse family, who had his hair covering his eyes.

"Ah... Count-nim... I think I can see the evil spirit now. He has been cleansed. " Hans said, with a fake smile on his face. If you look closely, you can see that his eyes were trembling along with his hands, which were still holding the bucket.

'You think?'

"Hello evil spirit, have you heard of our lord and savior Jesus Christ?" asked a very listless Hans, who looked like he had given up on life.

"..."

'I think I should do something about this...'

"Ehem, Cale I believe you should... Get dry first. "

"Yes... father, I will do that... And Hans? "

"Hm? What is it sinned one-"

A deadly glare that would have dug Hans six feet underground was aimed at him, making him quickly shut his mouth.

Hans faked a cough, "I-I mean, yes, young master-nim?"

"Ron seems to need some help with... his new recipe for a lemon tea."

Hans couldn't help but shiver, but he had to be strong...

He had the right to refuse. After all!

"Young Master I-"

When Hans saw that Cale, for some reason, suddenly had the bucket he was holding a while ago, he knew...

That in that very moment...

He fucked up.

"I will be right over to him, of course."

He practically ran towards the door, not wanting to wait to see if Cale would really throw the bucket at him. Bottles are fine, but buckets? No thanks.

That was the day that Hans vowed to never test Cale's patience ever again.

"My poor taste... buds... Aigoo..."

"Hm? Hans, you didn't like my new recipe? "

Hans shivered as he stared at the benignly smiling, viscous butler in front of him.

"U-uh no Sir- I mean Ron. It tasted good, so good that my taste buds felt like they were in heaven. "

'Literally...'

"Hoo~ I'm glad to hear that. Here, have some more. "

The servants who were watching this could only look at Hans with pity.

"Poor Hans"

A little glowing orb who was watching everything unfold couldn't help but giggle. Before quickly vanishing, the vicious butler threw a knife right at the tree it was hiding in before fleeing.

'Hmm... the little bunny seems to keep on attracting... troublesome things'

"Eep." He turned back to look at Hans, who was suddenly shivering and feigning ignorance of what he had just seen.

'Hoo~ the little bunny noticed me throwing that? very interesting indeed. '

Bonus:

"So how was it?" asked Violan, who was sitting on their bed reading a book.

"It... somewhat helped?"

"Oh, isn't it great? Hans truly is talented," complemented Violan, who put her book away as Deruth got under the covers.

"He truly is," he agreed before turning off the light.

"Goodnight."

"Goodnight, dear."

"..."

'Wait... now that I think about it... wasn't the bucket Hans was holding the one that... fell on me? '

"..."

'Hmm... no, it might be my imagination'

Unbeknown to Deruth.

Hans, who was able to get the bucket back, quickly discarded it, not wanting to be a primary suspect in that one accident where he forgot that he left the bucket at the top of the entrance door.

Why did he put the bucket there? He wasn't sure either.

It might be someone trying to make Hans suffer.
