Foxete's POV:

"Absolutely not." I scoff.
"I'm sorry, ma'am..." the maid sighs, "His majesty, Governor Kreko, formally requested that you wear this gown to tonight's ball."
Kreko is trying to get me to wear a golden, sparkly, dress to Illoha's birthday.
"Well he can go-" I get cut off.
"Fox I need your opinion." Illoha barges in holding two dresses.
They're both purple, but one is short with a darker collar and lace trim while the other is longer with a dark purple lace bodice and a silk, lighter purple skirt. Both are beautiful.
"I dunno, Princess." I shrug, "I need to see you wear them first."
She sighs, but nods.
She pauses before leaving, "Are you wearing that dress?" She asks.
"No." I reply.
"Yes." The maid answers.
Illoha frowns, "Do you want to wear the dress?"
I shake my head, "No."
She nods, "Get her a suit." She commands the maid.
"But your highness, we do not have a suit that will... be of a feminine figure." The maid answers timidly.

"Please, find something." She sighs.
The maid nods and scurries away.
"Otso?" I ask the air.
"Wassup." He appears in front of me.
"Do you have a suit that would fit me?" I ask.
He nods, "Brb!"
He disappears and reappears in a second. He's now holding a brown suit.
I smile, "Thanks."

Illoha's POV:

I re-enter the room wearing the long dress.
"Well?" I ask Fox.
I think she forgot how to breathe for a second because she just stares at me.
"Is it that bad?" I ask.
"What?" She snaps out of her stare, "Oh! No! Nonononono!" She laughs awkwardly, "It looks amazing! You look amazing! I just.."
She trails off and I laugh, her face is as red as her hair. She had put her suit on. She's wearing a white turtleneck with a brown suit jacket left hanging open except for the one button on the top. She has matching pants and black boots under them.
"That suits you much better than the disco ball dress." I smile.
She rolls her eyes, "I know right!"

"So, dress. Do you like this one or should I try the other one on?" I ask.
"Which one do you like best?" She smiles.
"I wanna try the shorter one on. My dad prefers this one. It's more traditional." I sigh.
"Try the shorter one then." She leans against the wall, "I'll be out here when you finish changing."
I nod and go back into my room.

Foxete's POV:

I wait up against the wall. Illoha's changing in the bathroom while we wait. I hear a small knock on the door a minute later, so I walk over and open it up. The small maid girl from earlier steps in the room she's holding more dresses.
"The Governor said to bring these to you." She lays them on the bed.
They're awful.
"Uh... no." I smile awkwardly and stare at the shimmering pile of rags before me.
"I thought so." The maid smiles slightly, "Well, I tried." She shrugs and leaves the room.
Illoha walks out a minute later in the shorter cocktail dress. She looks incredible. Even better than the dress before. I can't find words to describe how perfect the dress was for her. She was smiling brightly in it as well which made her look so much more amazing.
"This one is better." I chuckle.
"Yeah, I can tell you like it." She smirks, "You have a grin on your face and stared at me longer than the last one."
"Ah." I can feel my face heating up.
"It is quite rude to stare." Illoha jokes.
"Yeah, but when your girlfriend looks incredible I think it's okay." I cross my arms.

"Okay, you got me there." She giggles.
She kisses my cheek and grabs my hand, "Come on, I can't be late to my own party."

Dex's POV:
Kreko looks furious. Fox walked in with a brown suit on. Next to her was Arie, also in a suit. The icing on the cake? Ru was wearing a skirt. Apparently, he has asked Icey to get him one and she did. Now he "looked like a little girl", which isn't such a bad thing. For the love of the gods man, he's 8. I just smile at the kid as he runs along happily with Damien.
"So..." I walk up to the princess who the party is thrown for and give a small bow as the rest we're doing, "Do I have to address you as your highness?" I joke.
Illoha laughs, "Of course, commoner." She smiles and gives Fox a small wave from across the room.
She seems to be looking at something in the distance. When I enter the party, Josie at my side, I am greeted by classical music. Classic Keekos. Not even good music. Illoha walks in after greeting all the guests.
"Good evening!" She exclaims, "Thank you for attending tonight's ball that my father hosted in honor of my 19th birthday! I wanted to thank him especially for everything tonight, especially with his aid to my crew... The Protectors."
She looks over to where I am. I give her a small nod and she continues.
"With my fathers aid, we will be able to have a chance against Freddy! This is a night not only to celebrate my birthday, but to celebrate the beginnings a new era!" She grins broadly, "Have an amazing night!"
She steps away from the microphone as the music resumes.
"Good job, Illoha." I reassure her as she approaches us.
"Thanks, but have you seen Fox? I didn't see her during my speech." Illoha frowns slightly.
I took around. It's hard not to notice a hybrid. She's the only one here that has ears on the top of her head.
"No clue, but I saw her looking at something earlier, maybe she wandered off?" I suggested.
She thinks about it, "Thanks Dex."
She turns to leave, but suddenly gets bombarded by middle aged women asking about marriage.
"I'll go find her." I whisper.
Illoha nods and I walk off to find Foxete.
Where would she have gone?
