Dex's POV:

I walk into the workshop in hopes of finding Foxete. The moment I open the door, I get a full blast of music. It's loud and obnoxious, like Fox. I see Keori and Fox working opposite sides of the room. Keori is working on a suit, while Foxete is working on some sort of code. Fox notices me and turns the music down.
"How come I couldn't hear the music until I opened the door?" I ask Fox.
"I made all the rooms soundproof." She sighs, "Request of the crew."
"How?" I look up at the ceiling.
"I can literally teleport and you're shocked that I can make walls soundproof?" She snorts.
I roll my eyes, "Whatcha working on Keori?" I turn to look at her. She dyed her hair, it's a darker pink now.
"Davis's suit." She says bluntly, not looking up.
"Ah, cool." I turn back to Foxete, "Meeting upstairs in 5, both of you should be there."
They both give me a thumbs up and I walk out of the room, closing the door behind me.
And the music stopped...??
I walk upstairs to command, Keeva, Illoha, Kat, Kip, Icey, Jake, and Lexi all are waiting.
"Hey guys." I nod as I close the door behind me, locking it.
"Don't Keori and Fox need to come up here? Why'd you lock it?" Jake asks.
"Fox can teleport." I reply, though Illoha shook her head, "I just want to protect this place from unwanted visitors."
"Where's Mal?" I ask Illoha.
"In the med-bay with Melenee and Zeon." She responds.
5 minutes later, we hear a knock at the door.
"It's Fox and Keori, open up." Fox states.

I open the door, "Why did you just teleport?" I ask her.
"And make Keori sick?" She laughs, then stands by Illoha.
"Alright, now that we have everyone, let's start talking about the plan to go to Eldon." I start off.
"Foxete, Keori, and myself will be going on this mission." Keeva proposes, "Foxete can get us in and out quickly, Keori has her tech skills, and I can protect them from harm if we need."
I look at everyone, "Any problems there?"
Everyone stays quiet for a moment, but just as I'm about to speak again, Fox interrupts.
"Icantteleport." She says so quickly I didn't catch what she says.
"Could you repeat that?" I ask.
She sighs, "I... can't use any of my... abilities." She looks me dead in the eyes.
"So..." I start.
"I'm just a hybrid girl with daggers." She smiles sourly.
I scoff, "How long?"
"Dunno, maybe a month? I've felt a lack of power for quite a bit." She confesses.
"Ok, so you can't teleport us?" Keeva groans.
"Er... yeah." She bows her head.
"You decide to tell us this now?" I face palm.
"When else would this come up?!" She snaps back, "Oh yeah, sorry, by the way, I'm useless now."
"Talk like a grown up or join the kids downstairs." I snap back.
"I am acting like a grown up. What? Am I not allowed to be sarcastic?" She crosses her arms.
"Ok, I can't deal with this. Illoha, kindly escort your girlfriend into the med-bay so that you can figure out what's wrong with her sparkly features." Keeva instructs.
Foxete pouts, but she doesn't resist too much as Illoha drags her out of the room muttering, it's one thing after another.
We all stare at each other.
"Ideas?" I ask.
"We can't get in and out without Fox unless we want to make this a suicide mission, of which, we will not be doing." Keeva crosses her arms.
"Why not?" Davis asks, "I'd volunteer Dex."
Arie and Jake cough to hide their laughter, but Puppet decides to butt in at this exact moment with a fit of laughter.
"Davis." Keeva's voice is serious, "Not helping."
"Alright, so if Fox can't teleport, we can't do anything?" Ophelia asks.
Keori nods, "That's what it sounds like."
"She's fine." Davis interjects.
"What?" Keeva asks.
"Foxete. She'll be fine. She's distracted by her emotions. She bottled them up too much in order to help everyone." Davis explains, "I believe her abilities are based off of emotion. Imagine it this way; She's like a machine, if it overheats..."
"It'll burst." I finish his sentence.
"So, she's burnt out." Keeva looks back at the doorway, "I wonder for how long."
"Until she will stop caring so much about those stupid animatronics." Davis scoffs.
"Hey!" Keori snaps.
"Apologies Keori, I forgot how attached you are to Foxy." He sighs, "Foxete must get over her grief of, well, everything so that she can function again. I believe this meeting is over."
Everyone begins to file out.
"Everyone, go, Dex and Jake stay." Davis commands.
I stay back and wait for everyone else to leave.
"You know why she's like this." He states.
"No, we don't. Fox isn't the emotional type." I chuckle.
"Oh but she is." He hesitates.
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"Dex, think about it, she doesn't show her emotions to us, but she is emotional, I've seen her. When she gets upset, she's a complete wreck." Jake sighs.
"Who could she still be mourning?" I ask.
"She barely had time to mourn Acron, she had to fix Bonnie." Jake explains, "She couldn't mourn over her friends that died on the ship because everyone else was turning to her for leadership."
"My point is... she just a child." Davis sighs, "She's a child who can't cope with all of this, so she buries it and it makes a mental block."
"So, what should we do about it?" Jake asks.
"Talk to her." Davis suggests.
"That's why Illoha's here." I state.
"Do you honestly think Fox tells Illoha all her problems?" Davis snaps.
"Why would she tell us?" I groan.
"Because I've been watching her interact with you and it looks like she trusts you two most on this ship to open up to, in fact, you both are the only ones she's opened up to other than Illoha Shayma." Davis stays quiet for a moment.
"She won't tell me, she'll talk to Jake." I sigh, "See you later."
I walk out of the room.
This kid seriously needs therapy.
