The following two days were an actual nightmare. There was no news on y/n whatsoever, I repeatedly called her contacts and dropped by Chris' place as well. When I returned from my visit to his apartment it was already near dinner time again. Seokjin had asked me to join my parents and brother for some food but I first had to speak to Namjoon quickly.

I had something urgent to ask from him.

'Namjoon, did you find anything on y/n? surveillance footage or something?' I asked, because right after she left. That night when we returned from her house to the palace I had asked him if he could ask his contacts for help. Namjoon had some friends at the police station as he used to be an ex cop. Namjoon agreed and even though only two days had passed I was already impatient for an update.

He shook his head in disappointment 'no, there is nothing there. She really knows how to do this. There are no transactions on her bank account which is very uncommon, and her phone is untraceable as well.

I sighed and thanked Namjoon for the efforts and the update. I entered the dining room and was met my six eyes straining my way

'Brother you look a bit worn out' Yeonjun remarked

'Oh really? I wonder why.' I replied sarcastically. I immediately regretted it as Yeonjun looked down, visibly hurt by my harsh reply.

'Son, you should take some rest. Leave it be for a little while okay? I know you must be worried about her but she is a very capable young woman, so she will be safe.' My father as per usual talked to me in a very calm manner.

My mother was standing next to him giving me a soft smile, her eyes looked at me with almost a hint of pity.

'I won't leave it be, I won't ever leave it be, because she is wrong!' I exclaimed. I balled my hands into fists to contain my frustration in some way.

I turned to my parents

'Don't you see? she doesn't add disaster to my life, it's the opposite of that.'

     'but everything in the media?'

'I don't care about that. I know who she really is. The fact the media spreads lies about her doesn't change my view on her. We do not choose our parents. and planting their problems and faults on the children, who they in this case abandoned, is ridiculous.'

'I felt so alone before, I knew a royal life was a lonely life. and sometimes I thought I couldn't do it. becoming a king I mean. ' I continued.

I stared at my father 'I was so jealous that you found someone you can rule with, that makes you stronger. It was that way before y/n. But then I met her and she is smart, and funny and independent. I love everything about her. She made me confident about becoming king.'

'She is my person, and I will not just give up on her until I speak to her face to face. Until I hear her say she doesn't want to be with me anymore. Do you understand!?' I asked them both very sternly.

Mother gave me a sympathetic smile .

'We understand' she eventually let out.

'I am sorry son' my fathers eyes were filled with sorrow, and a hint of guilt. The latter made me anxious for a moment.

       'for what?'

'That she left, and that it makes you feel this way.' he said it in a genuine way, that he really felt for me. It did mean a lot.

       'Me too' my mother added.

After dinner I did follow my parents advice and retreated back to my own chambers. I needed a moment to rest. Since the moment I realized y/n had left I hardly slept and I was constantly busy with finding any hint on her whereabouts.

I looked around my room, all the memories with y/n filled my mind and they seemed to come alive as they were projected across the room.

I wandered aimlessly around what now felt as an empty room, reminiscing about her. The warmth I felt when her head was laying on my chest as we were cuddling on my bed. The fragrance of her hair I could smell so vividly. The sound of her giggles that would always make my heart flutter.

"You, in my imagination
Are so vivid, as if you are right there
But I reach out my hand
And you suddenly disappear"

I sat down on the edge of my bed and buried my face into my hands.

I felt so powerless, so hopeless because I had no clue where she was or even where she could be.

The following day I asked Jimin for Taehyung's address as the both of them had become close friends. I assumed he knew where the guy lived. My guess was right and I soon found myself on the road heading to Taehyung's house.

Maria opened the door, the way her face changed made it pretty clear to me that she knew why I was here.

'Hi Jungkook.. uhm Taehyung isn't here' she indicated

'oh, okay, do you know if y/n visited in the past days?' I asked, trying to sound as calm as possible, not anxious as I was feeling. I didn't want everyone to know that y/n was AWOL  especially considering I wasn't sure she had been here to begin with.

Maria shook her head 'no.' but she diverted her eyes, as if she was nervous. As if she did know something.

'Alright, I will then make my leave again. I came here to check if you or taehyung had seen her or not.'

I slowly moved back towards the car.

This was another futile attempt to find her.

'Jungkook' Maria shouted and I stopped walking

She looked nervously at me, again as if she was in doubt.

'Taehyung is not going to like that I tell you this but she was here, that night of the ball she came her and she talked to him.'

I stared at her, quite confounded by this sudden confession. Not nearly two minutes ago she had said y/n hadn't come here.

'I told tae I would tell you she didn't, I think she asked that of him. I don't know what happened because tae won't tell me anything but I do see how much the two of you love each other.' Maria looked away 'and I know that horrible feeling of not knowing where the person you love is and whether they are alright.'

I opened my mouth to ask her when Taehyung would be present. She smiled and answered even before I asked the question.

'Taehyung will return from his mission the day after tomorrow.'

I nodded gratefully at her.

      'Thank you Maria. '

I went back to the palace. I didn't sit still those two days, I tried Han and Chris again and again. I even tried to figure out if she had spoken to either her mother or father by any chance. Again nobody knew anything.

The hours seemed to pass slower than ever, I needed to talk to Taehyung. I was sure he had more information, perhaps a clue to where she was or why she left.

Finally the day had come and I returned to Taehyungs and Maria's place. After I rang the doorbell, someone opened the door and as soon as he saw me it seemed he understood why I was here.

'Jungkook'

'hey Taehyung'

Authors note: So you may have noticed this chapter is heavily influenced by their new song Film Out which was co-written by Jungkook. I really liked to use Your Eyes Tell in a chapter before so decided to use film out too:).  Are you excited for the Taehyung and Jungkook conversation?
