For a spilt second, everything went fuzzy. It as as if the trees were the only source of sound wherelse all other sounds had been drowned within it.

Some would call this the moment of truth but not here, sorry. This was a moment of confusion and pre mature stress

"I think I like you Lilac."

The words kept playing in my head over and over again like a 90's record which is forcing to stay in the modern world.

Was he thinking straight? Or I'm practically deaf? Maybe I was just hallucinating or-

"Are you ok?" He asked, wiping a bit of sweat off my nose.

"Erm...Malachi?" I said his name holding his hand. "You're the president's son."

"It's fine, forget I said anything." He told me turning away until I held his hand one more time and inter locked our fingers.

Did I like him?

I remember the first time we officially met and how he was a major jerk but how he nagged me the next day to accept his apology.

Malachi may be the President's son, but he wasn't an idiot nor was he an arrogant person. He carried himself with respect and that's something I've admired about him.

His light brown eyes were enough to send shivers down ones spine but yet were more than capable of making any one swoon.

To be honest, I could feel myself falling for him. Falling pretty hard as well. He'd been nothing but good and respectful to me after his apology and I've never reciprocated it.

It stung me like a bee that I hadn't shown him that I'm not just some sloppy rich teen owning a multimillion dollar business and the daughter of a tycoon.

I've been hesitant and self enclosed and the more I thought about my behaviour, the more I felt guilty.

Malachi had been looking down at me for the past minute waiting for my response and the moment I looked back at him he smirked.

"You're thinking aren't you Turtle?"

"How would you know?"

"One of my many talents." He said, but this time...his eyes weren't on me. Well, they were but not staring at my soul burning holes into my head. His eyes were down on my lips.

Don't do this Lilac! My subconsiousness was dissuading.

But why not? This isn't the perfect time we all know that, but why not?

Don't do this Lilac! My other self was deterring me.

Ugh! This was like playing a game of choices.

F*ck it.

I pulled his shirt towards me and he happily obliged to the movement. Our lips slammed against each other's and it was divine intermission of time.

It was passionate to say at least. As our lips synced in unison the only thing I breathed in was the masculine cologne filling my nostrils and being pushed into my lungs.

As his lips moved smoothly along mine I couldn't help but smile at between it.

Who would have thought this would be me?

Wait a second.

What was I doing?! This is bad...very, very bad.

Sh*t!

I quickly pulled away from our kiss and looked him in the eye before slowly backing off and running away back to the dorms.

What had I gotten myself into? A web of feelings for someone who is practically every girls dream?

I could sense it from miles away that our little encounter wouldn't produce good results.

𓆉︎𓆉︎𓆉︎𓆉︎

It had been a few hours since our... well, you know and I had been laying on my bed just thinking about the consequences of what would happen if anyone saw us.

I mean come on, we were literally in front of the school's gate. Anyone could have seen.

Tyra wasn't in the dorm when I returned so I assumed she was out and about trying to make herself happy.

Just as I was about to take my laptop out, a heard a knock on the door. Let's face it, no one wants to get up from a hundred percent cozy bed to open a door.

It wasn't Tyra for sure since she had a key so who could it be.

"I'm coming!" I shouted, as the knock became more persistent.

When I finally took the pain to open the door to my suprise, no one was there. As I poked my head out to make sure this wasn't a prank, I noticed a letter.

A black sealed letter.

"I remember this letter." I said to myself picking it up and scanning it and tracing the engraved initials of my name with my nails.

This was the letter I found with my black dress the day we had dinner in the White House.

My heart was beating rapidly at this moment. This is starting to freak me out. It's ten o'clock at night and not even a single student was in the corridor.

Probably this was just some silly prank I thought to myself.

But then again, it's better to make sure it's not.

I slowly walked over to my bed trying to get my head around the letter.

When I sat down I opened it up and suddenly dropped its content.

It was a picture.

A picture that I dare not remember.

It was a picture of me.

Me and my ex to be more precise - Blake Martinez.

I slowly picked it back up eager to take deeper notice of the image.

It was about two to three years ago when we were madly in love and he took me to this fancy restaurant in London.

Good food, I remember.

The picture was captured when we sat at a table and it was the moment he asked me to be his girlfriend and I said yes. A decision I still regret.

But who took this?

We didn't book the restaurant for the night so anyone could have taken it but to send it to me years later had to mean something.

This left me with one solution...

Find Blake.

I sprinted down the stairs probably forgetting to lock the room door then headed up to the staircase which led to the boys dorms.

Deep breathes Lilac. You're just going into the fr*aking boys dormitory!

"Hey!" I called out to a random guy who would be described as a nerd. I'm no stereotype person, but the big glasses and suspenders kind of said it all.

"Sorry, are you-

He paused for a moment then scanned me.

"Oh Miss Manor, right this way." He urged.

Before I could respond, he held my hand and dragged me through numerous sweaty, bulky guys and corridors which reaked until we reached a door with the number "RC4"

As he knocked eagerly on the door, I withdrew my hand from his grip and smacked the back of his head. "Where do you think you're taking me?" I asked.

"Sorry." He facepalmed himself "I'm Noel he said, this is Da-

Before he could finish his sentence, the door opened only to reveal a half naked Daniel with lipstick smudged on the side of his neck.

"Daniel?!"

"Lilac?!" He exclaimed. "Shit! You shouldn't be here." He said looking around the corridor.

"I prefer to stay here thanks." I told him, pointing at the state he was in causing him to roll his eyes.

"Is there something you need No?" He questioned Noel making him nod his head and walk away.

"Is there something I can help you with?" Daniel asked now turning his attention to me.

For the first time in forever, someone in this school was going to know about the history Blake and I had.

It's a big risk, but for my own reasons, I was willing to take it.

"Have you seen this guy?" I asked pointing to Blake in the picture.

Daniel squinted as if he was particularly blind "Hold on, is that the Royal Glass in London."

At his question, I mentally face palmed myself. I so didn't deserve this torture.

"No idiot!" I snapped, "Him!" I said, pointing to Blake once more. "Where can I find Martinez?"

"Oh...him. Next room, beautiful." Daniel said.

"Don't call me that." I told him stashing the picture into my back pocket and allowing him to shit the door.

Great.

Now it is what it is. No turning back.

As I walked over to the next door, I couldn't help but think about all that happened between Blake and I.

His family ruined us. Ruined me and he did nothing about it.

I know I was mean to him the first day I got here so if he decides to treat me the same, I wouldn't be suprised eve though he had no right to.

Sometimes, I just wish things were different.

Just as I lifted my fist to knock on the door it opened up followed by Blake.

He was just as I remembered; stunning black hair and tattoos which screamed bad boy.

"Lilac?"

"Hi." I greeted, trying to avoid anh potential eye contact.

"I'm sorry, but this isn't really the time. My g-

But before he could finish his sentence a shortish girl with brown hair and glowing brown eyes stepped between us.

"This is Rue." He finally said, snaking his arm around her waist.

I know I shouldn't have been jealous. Wait...it wasn't jealousy. Or maybe it was, but that's besides the point!

It kind of stung seeing that he had already moved on and here I was, mostly lost in my thoughts 24/7 or watching a Netflix series.

I took a sharp breath in then waved at her. Fortunately for me, she mirrored the action.

"Would you mind me taking to Blake for a split second?" I asked, Rue.

"Er...- she looked at him contemplating on the right answer.

Give me a break girl, I don't want him.

To assure her it was alright, Blake lifted her chin up "It's okay, babe."

She nodded and went back inside leaving Blake and I in the corridor.

"So?"

"Remember this?" I enquired, taking out the photograph from my pocket.

He took it from me then scanned it carefully before agreeing he remembered.

"Look, Lilac... I don't think we'll work ou-

"I highly don't doubt that, but that's not why I came here. I found this in front of my door.

"-and what has it got to do with me?" He asked, scanning the photo once more.

"I just wanted to ask if-

"Erh- have you seen this?"

"Seen what?" I asked, snatching it from him and turning the photo round.

It read:

To LMM,

Your every move was being watched from the start. We know about your little secret. Eyes up.

From Anonymous.

How could I have been so stupid? This always happens! There's always a message behind the freaking picture!

"Go in." He said holding his room door open.

"I'm not looking to get on Rue's bad side so I prefer not to." I told him making him roll his eyes at me.

"Rue won't mind. She knows...about us."

"Oh." I whispered before walking into their room...well, his room.

Blake's room was a whole different asthetic; mostly brown to be more specific but it was neat. Surprisingly, it seemed more...luxurious. With a separate sitting room and two beds wherelse mine had a sloppy couch, and a television.

"Rue!" He shouted her name as she emerged from what seemed to be the bathroom clutching a little bag.

No explanation needed here.

"What's up?" She asked, coming over to us.

"Would it be too much of a favour if I asked you to run through the security cameras in the girl's dorm? He asked running his arm down hers comfortingly.

"Er- she started, looked at me then looked back at Blake.

"Not at all..sure."

𓆉︎𓆉︎𓆉︎𓆉︎

As Rue and I sat on the couch, there was some sort of tension between us. I couldn't tell if it was the tension that ex'es feel with the new girl or it was just that normal tension strangers feel with other people.

As she typed whatever rapidly into her computer, I couldn't help but stare.

"So you code?" I asked fiddling with my fingers.

"Not really, I'm more into hacking."

"Interesting." I told her honestly amazed.

Hacking was not an easy thing and there was no denying she knew what she was doing.

"So how did you and Blake handle the m-

I couldn't hear it. I cut her off before she had a chance to finish her sentence.

"I don't mean to sound rude or anything Rue, but I don't think I can talk about that."

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to pry. My bad. I just tend to not have a filter sometimes." She admitted.

"Don't worry, it's fine."

"Ah ha!" She shouted jumping off the couch. "Got him!"
