[Chapter 5 - Riley's Surprise]

- Riley -

I slowly sipped on my dunkin' donuts coffee as my AP chemistry teacher drug on the lesson. I was so tired from staying up late last night talking to my brother. I have my regrets now, but anyone would do it for their cross-country brother.

Today I luckily only had practice, the game was tomorrow. We also had a game on Monday of this week. Kayden hasn't gotten any nicer either.

He deliberately does things to me like trip me, mess up a throw so it hits my body instead of the glove or the net behind me. Coach has noticed as well and has said something to Kayden but it does nothing.

All because I took his position as starting pitcher. Pathetic honestly, but it also reminds me of someone. I remember they used to do things like trip me in the hallway or shove me around some because they liked me.

I shook my head of the thoughts and tried to focus on what my chem teacher was saying, though it was really, really, boring.

The bell rang and I was still slowly getting out of my chair and gathering my things. I wasted half of my time I normally use for walking across the school just getting out of the class. Whinnie stayed behind with me, but she had to drag me along to get us on time to AP English.

Once we got there the coffee was slowly kicking in, when we got seated I noticed one of my teammates, Carson Owens drinking a monster. I leaned forward and tapped his shoulder, he turned around and smiled.

"Hey Seager, what's good?" He asked obviously hyped up. I half smiled at him, "Do you have another monster with you that I can have?"

He smiled and handed me the one on his desk, "I already had one this morning. You can have this one, haven't even taken a sip out of it." I gratefully took the can from him and gave him the biggest smile I could muster, "Thanks, it's been a long night."

He nodded and looked forward in his seat, I took the can and dumped at least half of its contents into my coffee. Whinnie gave me a funny look, "My coffee is strong and isn't working. I need something!" She giggled and nodded before looking forward to our teacher.

By the end of AP English, I walked out with half a can of monster and I felt more awake. When I sat in homeroom I sat in my usual spot, I was first here since my homeroom was next door to my AP English class.

I started to drink my monster while reading some books on wattpad when I felt a chair being pulled up beside me.

"Since when did you drink monster?" A voice I recognized all too well said from my left. I sighed, "Since I asked Carson for it this morning."

I saw his hand's fist and unfist at the mention of the player's name. I shook my head and took another sip. "Why are you sitting here?" I asked blatantly, I mean curiosity did kill the cat. I looked up at him to see him smirk.

"I wanted to change my view from afar, so I got a little closer." He said looking directly at me and placing his hand on my desk. I mean I knew he stared at me, but I didn't know he liked the view.

"Than I guess it's safe to say you like the view," I mumbled but he heard me because his eyes snapped to the side of my head, and I could see his neck get visibly pink. "I was wondering if-" Kayden started but I cut him off.

"If this is another plan to humiliate me or hurt me physically just stop right there. I said it, in the beginning, I will say it again, I'm not afraid to kick your ass. And I ain't taking your shit Walker, so stop trying to make me."

He was silent and his mouth opened and closed like a fish, I gave him a look before I turned back to my book surprised the teacher didn't say anything.

I saw his whole body sag like a sack of potatoes from the corner of my eye. I smirked in victory and continued reading my book.

There were five minutes until the bell rang when the teacher got a phone call. It shocked me honestly because our homeroom teacher never gets phone calls. He looked off into the distance as he answered the phone before his eyes narrowed in on me.

He hung up the phone before announcing that I was called to the office to leave. I was confused, Kayden gave me a confused look and I shrugged my shoulders before walking out. When I got to the front office the bell rang, I signed myself out and the lady at the desk told me my parents called saying my ride was outside.

I was confused but walked out the door, I looked around the parking lot for any sign of my parents when I saw the one thing that made me stop in my tracks.

I dropped my things and started running towards him, I couldn't believe he was here. "Ree-Ree!" I cried out as I jumped into his arms. He caught me with ease and hugged me tight, "Hey Rhy Rhy."

I squeezed him tighter before jumping off of him and punching him in the arm, he winced in pain rubbing the area before giving me a pointed look. "What was that for?" He scowled, I gave him the same look back, "That was for making me miss you!"

He scoffed, "I'm gone two months for training before my games start and you already miss me?" I nodded hugging him again and we both laughed, "Well I missed you too, now I say we have some ice cream to eat and some baseball to play!" He said with a smile.

I got really happy at that, "Here come with me. My bat and glove are in the coaches office, I can grab it and we can go to the field. No one should be out there!" He laughed and followed me as I grabbed my bag I dropped and lead him around the school to the gym entrance.

I knocked on the coaches office and was let is, "Hey coach I came to get my glove and bat, I'm taking some time to do extra practice. Some family came into town and I don't know if I will make practice tonight." I said glancing at Corey who was standing outside.

"Sure thing little missy," Coach said handing me my things. I thanked him and ran out of the office pulling Corey with me as we ran. When we got to the field he admired it before taking off to the pitcher's mound with a baseball he found laying around.

We played for good to an hour, Corey giving me tips to make me better. Overall it was fun, I was bonding with my brother. That was before we were interrupted.

"Well, this sure does answer my question. You are the sister to Corey Seager."

I groaned and saw Corey's look of confusion. I turned around to face Kayden with the handsome smirk he wears. Wait, handsome?

"What do you want Walker." I grit through my teeth. His smirk deepened and I gritted my teeth harder, "Nothing, Princess. Just came to see if I was right."

"Princess?" Corey asks from behind me, I groaned even louder. "Can you just fuck off?" I asked Kayden in a nice tone.

"Riley!" Corey scolded but I rolled my eyes. Kayden found this amusing, I could tell by the look in his eyes. "No, no Princess I can't."

But this time I socked him when he said that, got him right on the cheek. He stumbled back at my hit and I felt my chest heave up and down.

I turned to see Corey making his way towards me, anger written all over his face. I knew this was the end of me.

Hey guys!

Chapter five, thoughts?
