[Chapter 13 - Just a Break]

- Riley -

I let out an exaggerated sigh as I threw my bag into my jeep after practice. Today coach worked us, especially me to get us ready for our upcoming and final game. With prom, graduation, testing, I've been working my ass off recently.

Kayden has even gotten annoyed with me because I haven't spent much time with him recently but he also understands that I take education very seriously.

"Deep breathes baby, it will be over soon." I hear the soothing voice from behind me as muscular arms wrap around my waist. I leaned back, letting all my weight on the wall behind me and close my eyes sighing.

He kissed the top of my forehead and I smiled. "Let me take you out tonight, it's a Friday night and you need a break from everything." I groaned and turned in his embrace to face him, tell him the same thing I've told him the past two weeks.

"Shh, I know what you're about to say but you need a break. You, Riley Kennedy Seager, are a beautiful, strong, incredibly smart girl who will do fantastic in her final game of baseball, ace her finals, and make it to prom." Kayden spoke caressing my cheek while holding me close.

I sighed and leaned my forehead on his chest, maybe I do need this. "You think?" I asked kind of quietly. I felt him hug me tighter and start to stroke my hair, "I don't think I know princess."

I loved and hated it when he called me princess, it gave me butterflies in my stomach while making me feel too girly. "What is your little head thinking about now?" He asked quietly.

I looked up, stood on my tiptoes and gave him a light peck on the lips. "Just how you calling me princess makes me feel." he smirked at that, "And how does it make you feel princess?"

I rolled my eyes at him, "Well it gives me butterflies in my belly while making me feel way too girly at the same time." I admitted.

He smiled at me, "Well princess, now you know how I feel when I'm around you. Except I get a whole damn zoo with those butterflies." Then he kissed me passionately yet softly as if this was the last time but we all knew better than to assume that.

We were abruptly broken apart by a truck honking its horn. I hid behind Kayden and he turned his body in the direction of the truck, pissed off our moment was ruined.

"Get a room for that!" I heard Brantley call out which caused me to let out a small chuckle. I heard him drive off and Kayden turned around to face me, "Yeah, you should get a room for that." I said smirking.

He had an evil glint in his eyes after I said, "Oh don't worry princess. We will later, now be ready in an hour. Casual dress, and nothing to exposing - we don't want something to happen tonight do we?"

I smiled at his comment knowing fully well what he meant, so when I replied: "And these pants already don't make you wanna?" I knew exactly what I was doing.

I quickly jumped in my jeep and shut the door giggling as Kayden ripped the door open. "You are terrible Riley." He kissed me before closing the door and pointing to his wrist as he walked away. I have an hour to go home and get ready for whatever Kayden has planned for us tonight.

By 6:15 Kayden was ringing my doorbell, so I quickly slipped my white converse on and threw my hair up in a messy bun before opening the door. Well try to open the door, the impatient child decided to let himself in.

"Hey, baby." He casually said walking into my kitchen, I rolled my eyes at him. "I'm not your baby," I said crossing my arms. He laughed grabbing himself a coke before walking back over to me, "Not yet anyway."

I felt my cheeks and neck burn so I kept my head down and cursed myself for putting my hair up. "Now come on Princess we have things to do and places to be." He said guiding me out of the house. I laughed and hopped into his truck, the one I will never get over.

We pulled out of the driveway and he rested his free hand on my thigh while refusing to tell me where he was taking me or planning to do with me. It got on my nerves and made me anxious, I mean I don't think Kayden would hurt me or kill me but a girl never knows!

After almost forty-five minutes he said we arrived at our destination, but by now I couldn't see as he blindfolded me. He left me in his truck for about five minutes while he "finished up". When he came back he helped me out of his truck and I got extremely anxious, it was quiet all around us and there was water nearby.

"Babe you're fine, you don't need to cling onto me for dear life," Kayden said laughing, I let out a breath still not letting go of his arm as he walked me around. He stopped us and untangled from my hold, stepping behind me causing goosebumps to crawl on my skin.

He took the blindfold off and I gasped, he drove me to a field, one that was starting to grow hay but nothing too serious has sprouted yet. He laid down a blanket on the edge by the river and brought out a display of foods, I stared at it in heaven.

I turned to Kayden and hugged him, "Oh my god this is amazing! Where are we?" I asked running over to the blanket. He laughed and sat down across from me. "This is my parent's farm, back corner of the hayfield."

I looked around in awe than back at the food, chocolate-covered strawberries, cut fruits, hershy kisses. Yes, a huge bag of Hersey kisses.

We tore into the food, me trying everything and trying to eat it all at once. The chocolate was the best part though, and there was so much of it too.

Kayden stared at me in awe, I could see it in his eyes and I couldn't help myself when I reached over and pinched his cheeks. He got mad and swatted my hands away, "I'm sorry but the big bad jock of Oakland Hills High is actually just a big softy and I couldn't resist."

He pouted at that and I moved so I was sitting on his lap, arms wrapped around his neck, legs around his waist and I kissed his pouty lips. He responded back immediately kissing me before pulling away, "Good thing I'm your big softy." He said before kissing me again.

I pulled back for some air after a while, "Who said you belonged to me?" I asked teasing him, in reality, I knew I had him wrapped around my itty bitty finger, and I could make him do anything.

The bad, player, jerk jock of Oakland Hills was all mine.

Kayden looked up at the sky and jumped up almost immediately, causing me to fall backward. "Ow!" I cried out rubbing my back.

"Shit, sorry love, I just remembered the second part." He said rushing to me. I gave him a confused look and he just laughed asking me to help back everything up. I went to put the items in the bed and he quickly denied me and ushered me to the cab, where we put the things in the back and hopped in.

We drove around the unfamiliar land until we came across a shed. Kayden seemed to know what he was doing and where he was as he backed up against the barn, stopping about five feet from the wall. He then hopped out and pulled me with him to his bed, where he undid the tailgate and revealed a makeshift bed with blankets and pillows.

I smiled at how cute it was, you could tell a guy threw it together too. I hopped up on the bed of his truck taking my shoes off and he did the same, except he pulled out a mini projector from behind the pillows and set it up on top of the cab.

We ended up cuddling under the stars watching The Kissing Booth, How To Train Your Dragon, I even remember the beginning of Transformers before I fell asleep.

But before I fell asleep I heard the mumbles of Kayden, whispering 'I love you so much baby girl' and kissing my head - and that's when I knew the badass baseball jock was mine.

Hey Guys!

So it's been a while, school started and I just was in a creative slump for a while.

I've decided this book is ending in two chapters (chapter 15), with an epilogue in three chapters (chapter 16). The Players' Love is a short story so obviously it wasn't going to have many chapters. My goal was 20 but it just didn't happen.

The Players' Love is also going to be my first completed book because I just suck at writing books lmao so yeah.

I hope you enjoyed!
