"Oh my gosh!! Kylie, you have to see this video!!" Brooklyn yelled, causing me to jump in terror.

Like I said, I hate being scared.

"What video?" I asked, confused.

"It's a video from the party at Michael's. It's supposed to be a video of some stupid guys taking shots, but there's something to the right of them that you have to see."

Interested in the video, I scooted closer to her so I could see. She started the short video, and what I saw made me feel like a complete idiot. I can't believe this. They were both telling the truth and I didn't even bother giving them a chance to explain. I just automatically assumed he cheated on me since I've been cheated on before.

I. Am. An. Idiot.

I ran over to his table and kissed him with all of my might. I don't care about everyone's eyes on us. I'm stupid and I need him to forgive me. I need to apologize to not only him, but also to Loren. She tried telling me, but I just ignored her.

Once we pulled apart, we kept looking into each others eyes. He was lost in mine and I was lost in his. It's like time was standing still. I knew that I had to apologize for my idiotic ways, but right now, I don't wanna ruin the moment.

"What was that for?" He asked.

"Umm.....Just felt like doing it. I hope you don't mind but that's gonna happen quite often if we're together." I smirked, playing with his hair.

"I sure hope so."

Instead of replying, I just kissed him again. I was sitting in his lap. His hands were around my waist, pulling my body closer to his. My hands were in his hair, playing with the soft strands. I could feel the need and want in the way he kissed me. His tongue was roaming my mouth. His rough lips molded perfectly with mine.

"Guys..... I know we're all friends now, but can you please stop the PDA? It's a little awkward." Austen suggested, making a disgusted face.

"Oh C'mon! It's not like you don't do it all the time." I stated, still playing with Ezra's hair.

"Yeah, but I don't try to make babies in the middle of the cafeteria." He stated.

I busted out laughing, Ezra soon following me. We couldn't control our laughter. I was holding on to my stomach while Ezra was trying to regain his breath. Everyone was looking at us like we were crazy, but I don't mind. My life is finally turning itself around and it all started when Ezra walked into my life.

"I've gotta go back over there with Brooklyn. We have some business to take care of. I'll see you later babe." I stated, kissing him softly on the lips.

When I got up, I felt a hand squeeze my butt. I turned around and Ezra was just smirking.

What a douche.

I sat down next to Brooklyn and I started telling her everything that went down yesterday after school.

"So your dad is in love with a woman named Mary and you hate her? Have you even met her?" She asked.

"No. I don't exactly hate her, but it's just hard getting used to the fact that my dad is seeing another woman besides my mom. I hate that he's moving on. Maybe, just maybe, she will help repair the damage my moms death caused. I know she would want my dad happy and Mary may be his ticket to happiness. I'm just gonna have to get over myself and give her a chance, give them a chance. After all, Ezra has helped me. Mary might be his Ezra." I stated, proud of myself for maturing.

If you would have asked me a few months ago if I would be okay with my dad dating again, I would laugh in your face and then probably slap some sense into you. I've matured a lot here in the last few months.

"Wow. You're finally growing into the woman your mom would want you to be. I'm proud of you for realizing all of that. Ezra is indeed helping you. He is the best thing that's happened to you. Which brings us back to the main topic, how did you and Ezra end up back together?" She asked.

"Well after my dad dropped that bomb on me, I got pissed and left. I called Ezra because I needed him to comfort me. I needed him to tell me everything was gonna be okay. I needed him to hold me in his strong arms. But mostly, I just needed him. So I stayed the night at his house. We cuddled and talked all night. He's the one that helped me figure things out with my dad. I need him in my life. I can't see a future without him in it. When I picture my kids, I picture him playing catch with them in our back yard. I picture him tucking them in at night, kissing their foreheads before he turns out the light and shuts the door. He is my everything. I know I shouldn't depend on him, but I can't help it. I love him so much." I said, feeling my heart smile.

I really do love him.

"I'm glad you found someone that makes you happy. You need that. You need to be happy." She smiled.

"Now it's your turn. Why were you so mad this morning missy?"

"You remember how Luke and I were kind of all up on each other at Michael's party?" She asked, bringing back so many memories.

Whoever this Michael guy is, he sure knows how to make memories.

"Yeah......" I replied, a little confused.

"Well, his girlfriend found out. She dumped him. She was so pissed. She threw things at him and even kicked him where the sun don't shine."

"So did she tell her dad to fire his parents?" I asked, really concerned for the boy.

"No she didn't. Instead, she hacked his Facebook and Instagram and posted nacked pictures he sent to her. His parents found them and now he's not allowed to leave his house. He even has to do his school work over the Internet. His parents are so disappointed in him. They might send him to an all boys private school 3 states over. I may never get the chance to actually date him. I want him Kylie. He's my Ezra. He makes me happy. He brings out the best in me. He even helped me deal with my parents. We're starting to get along better so maybe now I won't have to go to bootcamp. I just need Luke. I-I'm really falling hard for him." She said, shocking me.

"I had no idea y'all were that serious. I was too caught up in my drama to help you with yours. I've been a terrible friend. I'm so sorry." I apologized, grabbing her hand.

"It's okay. You were having a hard time. It's understandable. I finally found someone worth fighting for but I'm losing the war. His parents are winning and I can't compete against them. I've tried reasoning with them over and over again, but they don't seem to care. I haven't talked to him in so long. I only got to talk to him last night because he snuck his phone. I need your help Kylie. I need you to help me get Luke back."

"Okay. I will. We are gonna get his parents to set him free. They can't be too harsh, right? Have you spoken to them in person or just over the phone?" I asked, ready to help my best friend get her man back.

"No. I'm too afraid to go to his house. They'll probably just slam the door in my face. You know how much I hate rejection."

"Yeah I do, but you have to try. How about we go over there after school? We can drop Cody off and then go demand his freedom. We can even start a riot if you'd like." I joked, trying to lighten up the mood.

It worked. She started laughing. I hate seeing her so down. I'd rather her be smiling and talking her head off. She deserves to be happy and Luke is her happiness just like Ezra is mine and possibly Mary is my dads.

*★*★*★*★*★*★*★*★*★*★*★*★*

We talked to his parents and they let him come see Brooklyn. She was so happy. I love seeing her smile like that. Luke was smiling just as big as her. I know they both care about each other. It's evident in the way they look into each others eyes. They're so cute together. I ship em. Bruke. It's cute. It fits them.

I gave them their space and just decided to chill in my truck. Ezra was sending me funny pictures of him self. He was sticking out his tongue and crossing his eyes in one. In another, he was putting his hand on his hip like a girl. He can be so childish sometimes. I sent a few back. I took a picture of my arm and told him it was my butt. He called me and told me I was insane and I shouldn't be sexting, although he kind of enjoyed it. When I told him it was just my arm, he stopped talking and just started making weird noises. I eventually just hung up and he text me saying that I'm really mean and I should apologize. I just laughed and told him to get over it. I love how our relationship is. We're so comfortable with each other.

Turns out, Lukes parents gave him his phone back, but he still has to stay in his house all the time. He gets to go to school, but that's it. No hanging out with friends or dates with Brooklyn, but she doesn't care. She finally gets to talk to him like a girlfriend should. Yes, he asked her to be his girlfriend. They've actually been talking for a little over a month so it's about dang time they make it official. Brooklyn can't get rid of her smile. I find it pretty dang adorable. Oh how cute puppy love is.

After I dropped her off, I went home ready to apologize to my dad, but he wasn't home. He has to work a little late tonight so he's not gonna be home until after 8. I gotta admit, I was disappointed. When I'm ready to finally have this conversation, he's not here. He's at work. He might as well just pack all of his stuff and move into his office. He's there all the time already.

I ordered in some pizza and now I'm trying to find a good movie to watch. I'm in the mood for a good sappy romance film. I've watched The Notebook, Dear John, A Walk to Remember, Message in a Bottle, and Safe Haven a hundred times but I've only seen The Lucky One twice so The Lucky one it is! Man I love his books. He is an amazing author. You know you're good when most of your books have been made into movies. I started the movie and got comfortable on the couch. When the pizza came, I answered the door in tears. I was close to the end when the dad was drowning. I know he was a mean man, but it was still a very sad part. The pizza delivery guy asked if I needed company and of course I just yelled at him and slammed the door. Why do delivery guys always try to hit on me?

Half a pizza and a trash can full of tissues later, my dad comes walking through the door with a grocery bag and a huge smile.

"Hey dad. What's in the bag?"

"Vanilla ice cream, chocolate chips, m&m's, and a bottle of coke."

He only brings chocolate chips when he has good news......

"What's going on?" I asked.

"I got promoted!!! I get to work regular hours from 8 to 5 and I get paid more!!!! Now I can spend more time with Mary!!! Isn't this great??" He asked excitedly.

He gets to spend more time with Mary? What about me, his daughter?

"So it's all gonna be about Mary now? What about me dad? I never get to see you!! Now when you get the time, you're gonna spend all of it with Mary?!? I can't believe this!!! I miss you, dad!! Why can't you understand that?!?" I exclaimed, feeling hurt.

"I-I'm sorry. I didn't know you felt like that. I won't spend all of my time with Mary. I promise. I'll be with you whenever you need me." He said with a sincere expression.

"I need you dad. I miss mom so much. I need you to help with with this. Ezra's been helping me a lot, but he doesn't understand the pain I'm going through. You do. When she passed away, you left me alone. You started working all day and night. I needed you and you just left me by myself. Please, help me now." I said, feeling a few tears streaming down my face.

"I will sweety. I know I haven't been how a father should be, but I promise that will all change. I'll break up with Mary. I don't want her around if you don't want her to be."

"No, don't break up with her. I know you need someone to hold in your arms and to kiss whenever you please. I know you need someone to love. Mom would want you to be happy and Mary seems to do just that. I will give her a chance if you promise to make room for me. I need you back in my life." I said, watching as his facial features soften.

"I'm not gonna make room for you. I'll make room for Mary. You are my number one. Your mom is second and then Mary will be last. She will never be more important than my family. I may be dating her, but that won't change a thing. Your mom will always be in my heart. She will always be my one and only true love. No one will ever replace her. She's irreplaceable." He said, making a smile stretch across my face.

I have my dad back.
