"Tell me now or I'm going to be bugging you all day and you know I will. Something is clearly wrong with you and I want to know what it is. Maybe I can help." I said, looking Cody in the eyes, trying to find an emotion of any kind.

We've been sitting at the lunch table for the past 15 minutes and all I've been doing is trying to get Cody to reveal what's wrong with him. He's been drooping around all day. He has dark circles under his saggy eyes and his hair is all messed up from him running his hands through it all day.

"Nothing's wrong with me Kylie. Just leave me alone. I'm gonna be walking home today so don't come looking for me." He said, storming off, dropping his napkins along the way.

"Ugh! That boy is so aggravating! I'm gonna figure out what's bothering him one way or another."

"One way or another I'm gonna find ya I'm gonna getcha getcha getcha getcha." Brooklyn broke out singing a One Direction song.

"This is not the time Brooklyn. Something is wrong with your brother and all you are gonna do about it is sing?!" I shouted, annoyed by her childish ways.

"Calm down. He'll tell us when he's ready. I'm not gonna hound him like our mom. Maybe he has a reason for not telling us. It's none of our business."

"But I want to help." I stated.

"I know you do, but he doesn't want help. If he does, he'll come to you. Don't go to him."

"Fine." I pouted.

I love helping people. It makes me feel wonderful knowing I actually influenced they're happiness. When I can't help someone that needs it, I feel horrible. They need me but I can't seem to do anything about it.

"Hey Kylie, sorry to interrupt your deep thinking, but Future boyfriends ex girlfriend is walking over here."

"Why didn't you just use their names?" I asked, amused by her spy like codes.

"I don't know. It's cooler using codes."

I laughed, taking a bite out of my distasteful chicken sandwich. I watched Loren through the corner of my eye until she reached our table.

"Hey girls. I just wanted to see if I could sit with you. Ezra and his friends are sleazy perverts." She said, pointing to the group of cocky guys.

"Of course." I said, patting the empty seat next to me. "We all know how those annoying guys can be."

"Yeah, I don't see how y'all have put up with 'em for this long. Especially that jerk Austen."

At the mention of his name, I choked on my chicken.

"Oh my gosh! Kylie, are you okay?" Loren asked worriedly, patting my back, trying to help me regain my breath.

"Y-Yeah I'm fine. Just a little thirsty." I said, taking a sip of my iced tea.

"Oh. Okay. You scared me to death." She stated, holding her right hand over her heart.

Brooklyn noticed my discomfort and started asking Loren questions about herself. I zoned out after the 2nd question. I haven't really spoken to Ezra all day which I found odd. He text me this morning but I figured he would have talked to me face to face. I hope he's not trying to ignore me because of Loren. Oh gosh! What of he is? What of he doesn't want Loren to know him and I went on a date? I mean, we did go to the party but she doesn't know we went on a date. What if he wants to start dating her again? She did sit with him for the first part of lunch. He would've normally came over here and said hi to me but he didn't today. Oh no. He thinks our date went horrible. He probably realizes he can get someone way better than me.

Stop worrying about it Kylie. He's just a guy and you only went on one date. Chill out. My inner self said.

I'm right. He's just another guy. It was just one date. But it was an amazing first date. Doesn't that mean anything?

Pulling me out of my thoughts, Loren tapped my shoulder.

"So what do you think?"

"Huh?" I asked, bewildered.

"Brooklyn is gonna come over with you and Ezra tomorrow so we can have a girls day."

I really wanted to hang out with Ezra but I don't wanna be rude.

"Uh... Yeah sounds good." I said, flashing a fake smile.

Just as I was about to put up my tray, Ezra plopped himself right in front of me, pushing Brooklyn to the side which I found a little rude.

"You could have asked her to move nicely." I said, annoyed.

"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning......."Ezra said, slowly looking away from me.

"No. I just thought it was rude of you to just push her to the side like that. She was sitting there first. You had no right to do that." I argued, crossing my arms.

"Well my bad. Brooklyn, I apologize for my rudeness. Will you please forgive me?" He asked, looking at Brooklyn with pleading eyes.

"Of course I will." She smiled.

"Why thank you." He smirked, looking straight at me.

"So, Its gonna be me, you, Adrienne, Brooklyn, Mason, and Ezra hanging out Saturday correct?" Loren asked me.

"Almost correct. I think we should invite Cody. He's never really been invited to do anything and I think he needs more guy friends." I suggested, hoping this would lift Cody's spirits.

"Who's Cody?" Loren asked, taking a bite of her French fry.

"He's my brother but we don't have to invite him. He would just ruin everything."

"Brooklyn Williams! Quit being so mean to your brother. He needs friends just like we do. Give him a chance. He needs to live a little too you know..." I exclaimed.

She is always trying to make her brother out to be such a nerd but if she would give him a chance, he could break out of his shy, awkward shell.

"Fine, but if he becomes Debby downer, I'm gonna say I told ya so."

"Go for it." I said, raising my hands in surrender.

"Alright. So its settled. We're gonna have one heck of a day tomorrow." Loren smiled.

"Yepp." I replied popping the P.

I'm not looking forward to this at all.

********************

The bell for the end of prison, I mean school, rang indicating it's finished for the day. Everyone was yelling and jumping around because the weekend has finally arrived after 5 agonizing days. I jumped in my truck, starting my engine. I was waiting on Brooklyn to get here. She went to go talk to Mr. Jimmy to ask if he's graded their project yet. She's really anxious to figure out what they've made on this horrific project. Well its not too bad; It did bring Ezra and I together......If that's a good thing......

I was startled by a tap on my window. I looked too see who decided to make me practically pee my pants. I saw the eyes that make my stomach swarm with huge dragons. I rolled my eyes and rolled down my window.

"Yes?" I asked.

"I just wanted to know if I could come over tonight? I mean my parents aren't gonna be home and my nanny doesn't keep good company so I thought maybe I could just come over and watch a movie or you k-know whatever you want or I could just stay at h....." I stopped his rambling by kissing him. That's the only thing I knew would shut him up.

"Sounds great. My dad is gonna be out with some of his poker buddies so I'm gonna be all alone. Well Brooklyn will probably want to sleep over. She normally does on Fridays."

"That's perfectly fine with me. As long as I'm with you, the whole house could be crowded."

"So you don't wanna be alone with me?" I asked with my puppy dog eyes.

"I d-do but if that's the only w-way I can be with you, I'll do it any day." He smiled with his cheeks turning a crimson red.

"Aww! How sweet!" I stated, squeezing his cheeks like a grandmother would do to her grandkids.

"Quit it." He said, pushing my hands away.

I laughed and started rolling my window back up before he stopped me by putting his hands on the window, leaving fingerprints.

"Hey! We don't touch the windows!" I shouted, trying to erase the gigantic fingerprints.

"Sorry." He smirked, leaning in closer. "You can shut me up like that every moment of the day." He whispered in my ear, causing shivers to travel my body. "See you tonight." Then he walked away, leaving a smile stretching across my face.

"Why are you smiling like an idiot?" Brooklyn asked as she sat down on the passengers side of my truck, buckling her seat belt.

"Oh no reason."

"Sure."

We drove in silence for the rest of the ride, enjoying the music.

When we got to her house, she told me she would be back over around 7 so I needed to have food ready. That girl is in love with food. That's why we're such great friends.

I parked in the garage and went to unlock my door. I lifted up the doormat but I couldn't find the key. I got a little scared. My dad always leaves the key there before he leaves. I twisted my doorknob and noticed the door was already unlocked. Okay, something is definitely wrong here. The door is always locked. I dug through my purse to see if I could find anything to protect myself. Luckily, I found a pocket knife my dad makes me carry around. Note to self, give thanks to dad for making me bring one of these everywhere. I slowly opened the door and held the knife close to my chest, preparing myself to attack anyone hiding in my house. I walked into the kitchen but I didn't find anyone. I walked to my dads room; No one. Then I cautiously walked towards the living room. I heard the TV on. I put my brave face on and jumped onto the couch, hoping to scare the person.

"Oh. Hey Kylie. I was wondering when you were gonna get home. I hope you don't mind, I let myself in."

The murderous voice caught me off guard. Why was she in my house?

(A/N So who do you think is in her house? Adrienne, Loren, or some other person. Could it be someone from her past? Also, What do you think is bothering Cody? Comment your opinions below! :)

P.S. I graduated high school last Friday! I'm finally done!)
