Stepping into my house, I let out a sigh of relief. I was finally in a stress free zone. Although, just as the thought came to mind, April came running at me. She giggled as she ran, her curls bouncing and her feet making little thumping sounds as she ran.

I would have to have one of those.

Just stop thinking about it.

Kinda hard to do that, I mean, you can't just forget the idea of being forced to have a child, now can you?

Oh, hush.

Great, I thought, now my mind is arguing with itself. It's official. I'm going insane.

April tackled my legs, and, if she had weighed more than fifty pounds, I'm sure she would've knocked me over. She's a tough little nugget.

"Sissy! Sissy!" Her small arms wrapped themselves around my legs as she tightly hugged them. "I have so much to tell you! You'll never guess what happened!"

"What? What is it?" I wondered, peering down at her bright green eyes, which were staring right back at me.

She squealed, and with an excited giggle, she let go of me and started twirling around in circles. "I have a boyfriend!" She shouted as she bounced around the room. "And guess what else!"

"What?"

"His name is Michael! When we get married, we'll be twins, Nova! We can live together in a big, purple castle! With pink ponies, and yellow turtles!" She let out a scream. "I'm so excited! I have to tell mommy!" She ran out of the room, shouting 'mommy'.

"Well damn," I muttered. "My sister is getting boys before I even got my own watch . . ."

"Yeah," An all-too-familiar voice spoke. "She's doing better than most of us." Tiana walked out of my kitchen and towards me. "Hey, bestie."

"Tiana!" I beamed. "I missed you so much!" I pulled her into a hug. "How are you? Wait - no. Why are you in my house . . .? Not that I don't want you here! I'm just wondering . . ."

She laughed, "Chill, girly. I was waiting for you to come home so that we could just hang out, like we used to. Your mom and I were just making lunch while we waited."

At the sound of lunch, my stomach grumbled. "Food sounds amazing right now."

"Let's go eat then," She motioned for me to follow her to the kitchen. "We made grilled cheese."

"Yum," I grinned childishly at her before I entered the kitchen. The scent of cheese flew through the air throughout the whole kitchen, making my stomach grumble again.

"Hey, Stranger," my mom greeted with a grin.

"Hola." I chirped, taking a seat at the kitchen table. Tiana brought me a plate and a bowl and placed them in front of me. I looked at the food before me; a grilled cheese sandwich and steaming tomato soup. "Looks great, thanks, mom. Tiana," I nodded before taking a chunk of my sandwich and dunking it into the soup. "How're you?"

She took a knife and cut her sandwich into fours. "I'm alright, been better." She sighed.

I slowly chewed my food as I looked at her with a confused look on my face. "What do you mean?"

She placed her hands in her lap, looking out the window. "You know Travis, right?"

"Yeah..." I trailed off, giving her a skeptical look. "Why?"

"Well, we have this....this thing." She claimed, pursing her lips.

"Thing?" I mumbled.

"Yeah, like we act like we're in a relationship but we aren't . . . he hasn't even like, asked me out or anything so I don't even know." She muttered, taking a bite of her sandwich.

"Hmm," I thought, "Want me to get Michael to talk to him for you?" I wondered, taking a spoonful of soup to my mouth.

"No, that's okay. I'll figure it out myself. So how's the marriage going?"

"Uh, about that," I mumbled, looking towards my mom, who was still paying attention to April and her cooking. "That's actually why I came here . . ."

"Really?" Tiana asked, surprise coming on to her face. "What did he do to you?! Do I have to kick his ass!"

"No," I laughed, "he's actually been pretty nice, and . . . decent."

"Oh."

"Yeah, but uhm," I noticed that my mom was now looking towards me, waiting for me to say what I had to say. "How do I put this . . . uh, I'm having a baby?"

Mom dropped the spatula that was in her hand onto the floor with a loud clang, and her jaw dropped. "What?!"

"Erm, yeah," I smiled at her. Tiana's face was covered with shock. "Surprise."
