|Nova Smith-Kingston|

I took small steps in my heels, wincing at each one. I was just barely a mile away from their house by now. Navigating my way back to my house actually was a lot harder than I thought it'd be. From the corner of my eye, I saw a car pull up on the side of the road and ignored it as it slowly followed me. The window to the drivers side rolled down, revealing Michael in his tired state.

"Nova," he sighed, "please, I'm sorry. You know that I'd never do anything to hurt you."

"I did know that." I sniffed. "Not so sure about that anymore . . ."

I heard him let out a frustrated groan. I stopped in my tracks and turned to face the car.

"You know, your mom told me that you had cancer, but I didn't believe her. Want to know why?" I placed my hands on my hips.

"Not really," he muttered.

"Vows, Michael, vows! You swore to always be honest with me no matter what! I didn't think you would lie to me, Michael." I held in tears as I spoke the next part, "I think we're done here, Michael."

"What do you mean?" I heard the squeal of the car tires as he slammed on the brakes.The door slammed shut as he hopped out of the car and jogged towards me.

"This whole . . . this whole thing that we have! It's pointless! We aren't meant for each other! Admit it, Michael, we're two completely different people."

"No," he placed his hands on my shoulders, "no, no, November. I don't believe anything you just said because . . . because, I really like you, and . . . and yeah, sure, I messed up. But, fact is, I've never actually liked a girl before. It's kind of scary, I usually just use them for . . . well, that's beside the point." He sighed, running his hands over his face. "Whatever, if you want to go, you can go. I tried, but it seems that every thing that I care about gets taken from me."

I looked him in the eyes, placing a kiss on his cheek before I turned and started walking away from him. I continued walking, almost pausing when I heard him say:

"Let me at least give you a ride home!"

I sighed, raising my head high and continuing to walk away. I heard him shout curse words before the engine of his car roared as he sped away. I stopped walking eventually, and sat on the cold concrete, thinking about what I just did.

You'll be fine. You're strong, you know he can move on.

Him moving on is the last thing that I want!

Pulling out my phone, I dialed Tiana's phone number and waited for her to come get me.

~~~~~
I stepped into my house and kicked off my heels. Tiana followed after, going towards the kitchen. I went to the kitchen with her and opened the freezer. I pulled out a tub of ice cream and a spoon and didn't hesitate to start enjoying the chocolatey goodness.
"So," Tiana pulled out a spoon of her own, "wanna tell me what happened?"
I narrowed my eyes with my response, "not really."
She pouted, "why? Cause if you do tell me, then I will have a valid reason to tell the police so that they don't arrest me for murder."
I glanced up at her, not phased at all by what she said, and then went back to eating a giant spoonful of ice cream. "I just," I murmured, my mouth full of ice cream, "I don't know why it happened or what caused my reaction, I guess I just had too much faith in the guy, ya know?"
"Sure," she chirped, giving me a side hug.
~~~~~

I woke up to the sound of the doorbell ringing. I rolled over on my bed and looked at the time on my alarm clock.

3:48 am.

I grumbled, standing up and making my way out of my room, down the stairs, and to the front door. I looked through the peephole, and saw a man that looked to be delivering something. I twisted the doorknob and pulled the door open. The guy rubbed his eyes, the bouquet of flowers in his hands wobbling.

"Delivery for a, uh, November Smith?" He yawned.

"That's me . . ." I mumbled, reaching out to take the flowers.

"Boyfriend?" He smirked.

I snorted, "it's complicated."

I took in this boys appearance. He looked tired, very, but he had an adorable smile, dimples tight on his cheeks, and he had scruffy dark brown hair and brown eyes. He was adorable.

"Well," he chuckled, "I get it. Just broke up with my girlfriend of five years."

"Ahh," I shrugged, "that's no fun."

He shrugged back. "It was for the best, we both knew it was right."

"Hm, okay." I agreed. I read the notecard on the flowers and noticed that it said 'i'm sorry :) <3' I threw the card behind me and sighed.

The guy laughed, "wow, it really is complicated!"

"Yeah," I laughed back. "Well, considering it's four in the morning and I need my beauty sleep, I should hit the hay now."

"Trust me, you don't need any beauty sleep." He winked, walking away.

I laughed, "wait, what's your name?"

"I'm the flower guy!" He shouted, before he got into his car and drove away.

I shut the door, and leaned on it. Smelling the flowers, I muttered, "the flower guy . . ."
