"...a divorce." I finished telling my mom what Mrs. Smith had informed me.

She tsked. "No, no, no. See, that will just not do. I told you, Michael! I told you to pay attention to her! Stop being such an ass and get to know the girl!"

I opened my mouth to respond when she shot me an 'I-dare-you-to-even-try-arguing-with-me' look, making me immediately shut up.

"Now," she started. Gesturing to the door, she added, "Go fix things."

I nodded, leaving her office and heading to the kitchen. I pulled out my phone and scrolled through my contacts until I reached her number. I pressed the call button and waited.

"Hello?" November answered.

"Hey!" I chirped.

"Oh, um. Hello," she responded, awkwardly.

"So I was thinking, and -"

"Hold on, please," she mumbled. She began speaking to someone in the background for a few moments until she returned. "Okay, uh, what's up?"

"Would you like to go on a date with me tonight?" I wondered, nervously picking at my fingernails.

"I'm really not sure about this, Michael," she sighed.

"Come on, please!" I argued. "I promise it'll be fun."

She sighed again, pausing for a minute before she agreed.

"I'll pick you up in," I looked at the time; 5:46. "Say, fifteen minutes?"

"How am I supposed to dress?" She mumbled.

"Casual," I immediately answered. We said our goodbyes and after I went to take a shower.

I picked up my car keys and my cell phone, about to head out the door when it opened and my dad stepped in.

"Hey, dad," I greeted.

"Hi, Mic-" he started.

"Honey! Is that you? Can you come here, please!" Mom called from her office.

He sighed, his gaze landing on me.

"Looks like someone's in trouble," I sang, walking out the door. I got in my car and began the drive to November's house. As I pulled up, she stepped outside wearing black skinny jeans, a white tank top and a black leather jacket with those black and white high top heels.

She looked hot.

"You look great," I conplimented, opening the door for her as she got in the car.

"Thank you, so do you." She played with her fingers. "So, where are we going?"

I smirked, looking over at her. Wouldn't you like to know?" I teased.

She cracked a smile, turning the radio on with low volume.

After ten minutes, we arrived at our destination and she looked as confused as ever.

"Where are we?" She asked, taking in her surroundings.

"You'll see," I got out the car and held her door open for her to get out.

We stepped through the large gates of the zoo and immediately a grin appeared on her face.

"I love the zoo!" She gushed. I took her hand in mine, just noticing that she was sporting her wedding ring. She glanced down at our hands.

The first exhibit we went to had giraffes. I squealed when one leaned over the fence and tried to lick my face. Michael laughed, his hand giving mine a squeeze.

After we spent a good five or ten minutes with the giraffes, we were in the reptile house.

"Ew, that snake looks disgusting," I made a face, tapping on the glass. I felt something light trail up my side, before I felt a small stinging pain. I shrieked. "What the fuck! Is there a snake on me? Ah, get it off!" I flailed around like an idiot. Once I'd noticed Michael, who was hunched over laughing, I hit his arm ad stomped away, huffing. "Not funny," I mumbled, crossing my arms over my chest.

Once Michael had straightened himself up, he jogged to catch up with me before cutting me off and standing in front of me.

"Hey," he uttered softly, "I'm sorry, okay? I shouldn't have done that."

Sighing, I let my shoulders fall with my response. "It's alright."

He grinned and pressed his lips to my forehead, leaving them there for a few seconds before he took my hand and led me through the zoo.

This relationship will be the sure death of me.
