It's been a week. A banter-filled week. A week of their wonderful friendship. They laughed, played around, they made fun of other people. They even had inside jokes now.

Ella laughed throwing her head back, her knees weak from laughing too much.

"Okay, I know another one. What did one traffic light say to the other?"

She laughed beforehand. "What?"

"Stop looking, I'm changing!" He laughed "One more... How do you make a tissue dance?"

She knew he was going to say something dumb but she still asked. "How?"

He made a smug face and said. "You put a little boogie in it"

"Oh my god, Hunter! You are disgusting!" Her laughs echoed in the vast hallway, causing other students to search for the source.

"What did the ocean say to the shore?" He raised both of his brows in a questioning manner.

"I don't know" she squeaked laughing.

"Nothing... It just waved"

"No more, please... No more" she wiped her tears that came out of her eyes from laughing too much.

The bell rings and they both enter the class side by side. She sat in her assigned seat and Hunter sat beside her. They both were whispering and laughing. The teacher cleared his throat eyeing them and they both shut their mouths instantly.

Leaning close to her ears, Hunter hurriedly said. "Why don't they play poker in the jungle... Too many cheetahs"

Ella muffled her laughter and pinched on his legs under the table, telling him to shut up.

The teacher handed out their test sheets from last week and Ella held her breath. He handed her the paper and nodded at her. "Good job, Ella. Keep up the good work" the teacher appreciated.

Ella's eyes widened when she saw a B plus on her test. Her mouth hung open. "B plus, Hunter, I got a B plus"

Hunter smiled and showed her his test. "A-plus," he said, smugness dripping from his face.

She rolled her eyes. "Show off!" She snorted.

In the last couple of days, she got straight A's or Bs on her tests. She was feeling happier and more confident.

"Now, what about our date? You promised that if you got a good grade in maths. You'll let me take you out" Hunter said

She groaned. "You know, I'd love to. But I'm still grounded."

He shrugged. "Then lie... Tell them you have to work on our project"

Ella sighed. "I don't wanna lie to my parents. We are already in a bad place. I don't want to completely break their trust."

Hunter held her hand. "Then apologize. They love you and I'm sure they will forgive you."

She pursed her lips tightly. "Apologizing for it means, taking the blame for sending those texts, which I didn't. They won't believe me"

"Then make them believe with your actions. I believe that you didn't send those texts and it's been what? A week since we've become friends? They know you better than anyone, you're their daughter. I'm sure if you have a heart to heart with them, they'll believe you" he told her.

Ella thought for a while and then slowly a smile appeared on her face. "Who knew that the bad boy, chain-smoker Hunter Grey is such a softie from the heart"

Hunter's face turned beet red. "What? I have no idea what you are talking about" he said and smiled.

The school ended and Hunter walked her home. Matthew Carter was standing outside his mansion when he saw a guy walking his daughter. With furrowed eyebrows, he tried to recognize him.

Ella's smile fell when her eyes landed on her dad. If it was any other day, she would have jumped in her father's arms. But she was angry with him as he was with her.

"Is that your dad?" Hunter asked

"Yeah" she nodded. "It hurts when he ignores me. We've always been close. I feel like a stranger in my, own house" she opened up to him in a small amount of time. He was easy to talk with. She felt like she could share her deepest, darkest secrets with him with ease.

"Remember what I said. I'll be waiting for your answer. I deserve that date, Ella. I worked hard for your test" he smiled

Smiling, she nodded and waved him goodbye. She approached her father with small steps. "Hi, dad" she squeaked.

As her tiny voice fell on Matthew's ears, his heart swelled with happiness. He longed for a conversation with the apple of his eye but she was too proud to talk to him. "Ellie..." He said

She gulped and averted her gaze. "Can I go out tonight with my friend?"

After almost one and a half months later, she asked her father for something. He couldn't find it in himself to say no to her. "With that guy? The one that dropped you home?" He inquired

Ella looked in the direction from where Hunter left and then glanced at her father. "Yes..." She fumbled with her fingers.

He nodded. "Sure but be back before your curfew"

Ella's face lit up, she wanted to hug her dad but instead, she just nodded happily and walked inside the house.

Reaching her room, she closed the door and hurriedly texted Hunter.

Ella:

We're on!

βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°
Hunter:

Well, Ms. Carter get ready for the best date of your life!"
βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°

βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°
Ella:

Actually, It'd be my first date. I have never been on a real date before.
βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°

Smiling she stared at the screen and waited for his reply.

βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°
Hunter:

Do you have any idea how honored I am to take your Date Virginity?
βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°

She laughed at his text. Idiotβ€”she muttered to herself.

βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°
Ella:

You are such a dork
βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°

βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°
Hunter:

Only for you, my lady. Only for you.
βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°

βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°
Ella:

Any suggestions on what to wear?

βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°

βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°
Hunter:

Wear something casual. You look good in everything.
βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°

βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°
Ella:

Still, tell me. I don't wanna go to a five-star restaurant in my pajamas.
βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°

βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°
Hunter:

Why? You'll be making a statement.
βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°

βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°
Ella:

No, Hunter, seriously though. Tell me!
βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°

βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°
Hunter:

Fine! Do not wear a dress.
βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°

βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°
Ella:

Why? That's like ultimate date clothing.
βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°

βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°
Hunter:

Just don't!
βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°

βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°

Ella:

Ugh! Fine!
βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°

She squinted her eyes on the screen. Something didn't feel right. She strode to her closet and took out a pink dress. She smirked inwardly.

She showered, dried, and curled her hair. Applied light make-up and wore a pink dress. She paired it with matching heels and a clutch. She gave herself a once-over and smiled smugly.

"You look beautiful, Ella Bella" she mimicked his voice as she glanced at herself in the mirror. Her phone pinged and Hunter's name flashed.

βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°
Hunter:

I'm outside.
βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°

βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°
Ella:

Be right out...
βŠ±β‹… β‹…βŠ°

She skipped down the stairs happily. She opened the door and saw Hunter in casual clothes with a bouquet in his hands.

"You look beautiful, Ella Bella"Β  he murmured mesmerized.

She snorted. "Thank you"

He furrowed his brows. "I told you not a wear a dress"

She flipped her hair over her shoulder. "I listen to no man. I make my own decisions" she sassed.

He laughed. "Well, you are gonna regret not listening to this man" he gestured towards himself.

He unlocked his black Lamborghini and Ella halted in her steps. She glanced at him and meekly shook her head.

"Are you telling me you are gonna walk in those heels?" He asked with wide eyes.

She shifted her weight from one foot to another. "Um... You know... I can't"

"Try it with me. You trust me, don't you?"

"Yeah... Kinda..."

He opened the passenger side door for her. She meekly walked and slid into the passenger seat. She fastened her seatbelt and gripped the leather seats tightly with her nails. She could feel her heartbeat accelerating and her breathing getting shallow. Hunter slid onto his seat and glanced at her. "You okay?"

With her chest heaving up and down, she looked at him, nodding her head. "Hm..."

He started the car and Ella's stomach churned. Before he could start driving. She closed her eyes as her own saliva choked her. "Stop! Stop! Please stop!" She cried out.

Hunter hastily turned the engine off and got out of the car. He walked to her side and unfastened her seatbelt, pulling her out.

She stood there unsettled, her eyes squeezed shut. "Hey! Ella, open your eyes. We can walk... It's okay"

She slowly opened her eyes and saw Hunter's concerned ones. She nodded and bit her lip. Hunter offered her his arm which she gladly took.

They walked in a dimly lit street. "I'm sorry." She mumbled embarrassed.

He laughed. "Are you serious? I used to dream about spending time with you and now that Iβ€”" his words got stuck in his throat as he thought about what he blurted out.

A small sly smile crept on Ella's face. "You used to dream about me, huh?" She felt happy and special. Hunter made her feel desirable again.

"Um... Fuck! I just dug my own grave. Didn't I?" He asked sheepishly.

"No. I think it's cute" she smiled.

"You wouldn't think like that if you knew what I dreamt about," he said under his breath.

"What?" Ella asked

"What?" He cross-questioned, feigning innocence.
