Chapter 27: Oregano

I didn't know what to do. I was numb.  My feet were fixated to the ground. I didn't expect Leo to do this to me. I knew we weren't in a relationship and he had the right to hook up with anyone or do whatever he wants for that matter. But I felt betrayed, I felt my heart get shatter into pieces.

Somehow I could feel myself regain my strength to move as I couldn't bear to see the sight in front of me anymore. I was about to turn around when I noticed something. Leo wasn't moving and his head was hanging off Serena's shoulder in a weird way. I had a funny feeling that something was wrong but the other part of me wanted to run away from this. I didn't let my emotions take over me, ignoring that, I approached them.

"What the fuck are you doing?" Serena asked looking up at me. "Don't you see I am busy?"

"Get off from him", I barked.

"No I won't", Leo seemed unconscious infact the whole time I have been observing him, he didn't even move an inch. I knew there was something wrong with him.

"If you don't get up I am gonna punch you in the face so hard that you will have a huge dent on your face for the rest of your life", I threatened her with a bitter smile on my face.

She gulped, I could say she was afraid of me since I was giving her my death stare,"Okay geez. I am getting up", she got off him and before Leo's lifeless body could fall forward I held him up. He was heavy but I tried my best to support his frame. Lifting him up I placed his head on the back of the sofa. He was sweating profusely, still unconscious.

"Leo... Leo... please wake up", I said shaking his head.

"Fetch me a glass of water right now!" I barked at Serena.

Timidly she fetched me some water in a plastic cup. I took it from her and started sprinkling water on Leo's face,"Leo Leo Leo wake up!"

He started to stir, "Emma...", he croaked. "I don't feel well".

"Let's get you home then. Please try to get up", his legs were shaking, but he tried to get up, I wrapped my arm around him for support. He was heavy but I persevered. "Can you walk?" I asked him, he nodded and tried to take a step forward but failed.

"Oh my god Emma what happened?" Hailey asked coming up to me. "I thought you got lost on your way".

"I think Leo had something, he is not feeling well. We need to get him out of here. Fetch Derek for me, he can help us carry him to the car", Hailey immediately rushed to fetch Derek.

"Oh god let me help you", Derek took him from me.

"Are to sure you can carry him all the way to the car?"

"Yeah I can", Derek carried Leo outside. 

"Aren't you coming with us?" Hailey asked.

"You guys go. I need to finish up something before we go", I said.

"Don't be late".

I turned around to see Serena already on some other guy, making out with him. Leo didn't reek of alcohol so he wasn't drunk, I knew something was up and Serena was behind this.

I was fuming now. She needed to be taught a lesson. I stomped towards her, I pulled her tearing her away from the guy she was hanging out with.

"Hey what the hell-", she was about to fall but she balanced herself. "What the fuck bitch!" She cried out.

"Did you mix something in Leo's drink?" I asked through gritted teeth.

I was met with silence but I knew the answer very well. I took a drink from the table and poured it over her. The crowd around us roared after seeing the drama unravel. She was too astonished to say anything.

"Next time I wouldn't hesitate putting a dent on that face", with that I walked away from her.

"Take him to his room", I said to Derek. Leo managed to stay conscious throughout the whole ride but he didn't utter a word.

Derek laid him down while I opened his shoes and placed his legs on the bed. Hailey placed a blanket on him.

"Do you think we should take him to the hospital?" I asked.

"I think he will be fine. He just needs to sleep through it".

"Who drugged him?" Hailey asked.

"Serena. One of Jules' minions", I answered.

"It's late. I think you guys should go home". It was almost midnight. Derek and Hailey were still at my place, they were dozing off on my couch.

"Nah we will be fine. We will help you take care of Leo. I think you should go to sleep. You look tired".

"No I will stay up in case Leo needs anything. I think you guys should go home. I can handle him", Leo was asleep but he needed to get the drug out of the system so in case he wakes up feeling nauseous I was staying awake till then.

"Are you sure? We are not leaving you or Leo alone".

After much convincing Derek and Hailey left since they were both tired and was in dire need of sleep.

I was tired too but I decided to stay up, so I took a chair and sat beside Leo's bed to keep an eye on him while I read a book. He wasn't sweating anymore but I think his temperature was a bit high. So I soaked up some towel and placed it on his forehead.

I decided to give the night. If Leo didn't get any better I would take him to the hospital in the morning.

Leo woke up in the middle of the night to vomit. I was glad since the drug was finally out of his system and I was hoping he will be fine now.

After some time i was having a hard time trying to keep my eyes open, I didn't realize I feel asleep on Leo's bed with him beside me. I woke up to the sound of Leo voice but I didn't open my eyes.

I felt his eyes on me staring at me, his arms were touching mine, his body temperature indicated his fever has dropped now. "You took care of me...", he paused sighing, placing his hand on my face. That move surprised me and made my heart beat faster against my chest. I opened my eyes to see Leo staring at me, his face so close that I can see the green flecks in his watery blue eyes.

"You alright now?" I asked quietly. He nodded.

"After all I have done to you... You still took care of me. I don't deserve you Emma. You deserve so much better. I am not a good person Em. I have tried to be mean to you, so that you stay away from me but it didn't work. You have no idea how fucked up I am. I am a bad person. But I can't stay away from you either. I don't know why.... I am so sorry for hurting you. I.. I think-... I", I was speechless. There were so many questions racking in my head. Why would Leo be a bad guy? It's not like he did something to me. Why did he want me to stay away from him?

He groaned in frustration. "That's it. I am gonna say it! I think I-".

"DUDE YOU ARE ALIVE!" Josh hugged Leo from behind interrupting him.

"Dude get off from me! You are too heavy" Leo said sounding irritated. What did Leo want to say? It has been killing me for the past few days.

Josh finally noticed me, sleeping beside Leo he got off from him immediately,"Uhh I will leave you guys to  do whatever you guys were doing", he said awkwardly.

"No no no stay. We weren't upto  anything", I said getting up. "I just fell asleep beside him".

"Thanks for ruining the moment though", Leo mumbled just enough for me to hear.

Josh hung out for awhile. We had breakfast together. Leo was feeling better now. But he was sulking the whole time.

"Dude it looks like you are not happy to see me here. I even brought food for you ", Josh pointed out. Josh brought us breakfast which his mom packed for us.

"I am never happy to see you", Leo answered.

"I don't care. I will always be your Harley Quinn, and you will be my Joker", Josh teased.

I laughed.

"By the way Emma, you are famous now", Josh said taking out his phone,"The clip of you throwing drink at Serena has over 10k views!"

"What? There is a video on that?" I asked shocked.

"Yeah someone recorded that and posted it on instagram".

"Okay what is happening here? Why would Emma throw drink at Serena?"

"You don't know?" Josh asked quirking an eyebrow at Leo,"Serena was the one who drugged you last night to seduce you or something. But from what I have heard it was all Jules's plan", Josh said. Wait it was all Jules's idea? Of course it was. Why didn't I figure that out? Right then everything clicked in my brain. Of course Jules wanted me to be at the party. 

"Drugged me? I thought I just felt really sick. I don't remember anything from last night at the party to be honest. I just know I fell ill at the party and after that Emma helped me get home and she took care of me the whole night ".

"Jules did this just to rile me up. She wanted to make me jealous since she thinks we are dating. So at school she told me how you were cheating on me with other girls. Honestly I didn't give a fuck but I still went to the party since Hailey insisted. I saw Serena on your lap but you were oddly still. You didn't move an inch. I knew something was wrong. I got her off you only to realize you were unconscious. Then Derek helped me carry you to the car. I left the party not before throwing a drink at her to teach her a lesson so that she never does anything like that to anyone ever again".

Leo was shocked to hear this, "I- I dont know what to say Emma. I am sorry you had to go through this. And thank you for everything you have done for me", he sounded grateful.

Josh left early since he promised his mom he would be home for lunch.

I was about to go upstairs to take a shower, when Leo stopped me," Princess?"

"Hmm?" I don't know why but I was starting to like his nickname for me.

"Are you free after five?"

"Yeah. Why?"

"I want to take you somewhere".

"Where?"

"To the hospital".

"Why? Are you alright?" I asked quirking an eyebrow at him. He seemed fine to me but I was still worried.

"No I am fine. I just need you to meet someone".

I was sick the last few days  so I couldn't update. Now that I am well, I would be updating more :)
