The doorbell sounded, and they waited at the door, in the cloudy day, outside of a house was Marvin pushing the small little bottom, while a carefully Charlotte had him in her arms.

"Gandma! Gandma! Open"

Marvin was calling out loud to his grandmother, and Charlotte put him down, because her boy wasn't a feather.

Slowly she fixed her wine dress, and checked the cake that she had on hand. Everything was in perfect state.

"Ma, gandma not open"

Charlotte get closer to Marvin and smiled to him.

"Want to call her again, little man?"

The boy joyfully nodded and suddenly the door was open. Charlotte turned to see the person in front of then, and she was surprised.

A young woman, with bright eyes was staring at them, her brown eyes and hair were the same like Victor.

"Charlotte, Marvin! Nice to see you!"

Charlotte smiled as the woman carried Marvin on her hands.

"Hello Alina, long time no see"

"I know! and look at Marvin, honey you are so big now"

Alina kissed her nephew as she was entering to the house, followed by Charlotte.

"Come on, Mom! Charlotte and Marvin are here!" 

A woman came to the encounter and as soon she saw them, she ran to hug Marvin.

"Oh my pretty boy, did you miss your Grandma, I missed you so much"

The lady kissed Marvin's cheeks, and hugged him strongly.

"Hello Charlotte, I see that you brougth a cake"

"Oh yes! I bought a tiramisu"

Charlotte followed her mother in law to the kitchen and then Alina took Marvin out of it, leaving them alone.

"So... Can I help you?"

"No need swertheart, I did everything, but you can make me company with a coffee and eat some pastries"

Charlotte sat at the little table and waited for the, taking a strawberry one, she eat it and checked the place around her. Everything was so clean and in order.

"That's are Vic favorite"

His mother told her as she was serving her coffee. Charlotte smiled as she commented; when they were dating, he always gave to her strawberry pastries.

That was now such a bittersweet memory, being eclipsed for the cheating in both parts.

She remained in silence and drank her coffee no without notice the book on the table.

"So... are you reading?"

Her in law turn to her and she smiled sweetly.

"Oh no dear, I'm feeling sentimental, so I decided to see old photographs."

"Why?"

"Well..."

The older woman saw carefully the place, looking for her daughter.

"Alina is pregnant, I'm feeling old, but please, when she anounce it,  act like if you're surprised, got it?"

"Got it"

Charlotte smiled according the reaction of her in law; enjoying this moment, she felt on peace, she felt good, she felt happy.

But curiosity bit her, and she decided to open the album photo; and begun to see the pictures on it.

Victor turn on scene, he was a sweet boy, just like Marvin,  in the old photo, he was with a horse of toy.

Then he was with a little car. Showing off to the camera. She saw many pictures and then a girl appeared, in every photo.

"Who is she?"

Victor's mother took a look and she act like she was trying to remember.

"That was a friend. The sweet thing, the poor thing."

She sat next to Charlotte, and began to watch the photos.

"Victor was her only friend, she came one day and the became friends, he protect her from bullies and promise to be with her"

The woman smiled.

"Young love, but her parents got divorce, and she left the city, she went lost. We never knew about her anymore. Valery was her name, if I am not wrong."

Oh boy. Charlotte was surprised for that and she felt really bad for them.

The time for dinner come, she was feeding Marvin while everyone else was chatting.

She ate a little bit, and she began to peek on her husband. He looked so relaxed, talking with his family.

"Omg! Charlotte went mute with the notice!"

Alina said and they laughed, turning their attention to Charlotte.

"I'm sorry, were you saying?"

"Are you tired?"

Victor asked her, and she smiled. She saw Marvin sleepping and she stood quickly.

"Marvin, I need to take Marvin to bed, can I?"

"Sure darling, you can use Victor's old room"

Charlotte nodded, taking Marvin in her arms with a odd feeling in her chest.
