Two-bit: Shows your son how to pickpocket in stores, and avoid security guards while doing it. 

Steve: Teaches your daughter when she's sixteen how to drive, and then how to change her own tire so that she wouldn't need a man to do it for her.

Ponyboy: Teaches your daughter how to read and write.

Darry: Helps with teaching your child how to do all the basics like tie their own shoes, pick out their clothes, comb their hair, talk, walk, brush teeth and everything else.

Soda: Teaches your son how to sweet talk girls, and flirt with them. Also how to comb his hair all nice. 

Johnny: He is a bit awkward around your child because you were so young when you had them, and it freaks him out because he has a huge crush on you. The idea that you've done 'it' makes him weak.
