It was in September when we had planned the wedding. I wanted something small, but Johnny wanted something huge.

" Johnny but the money..." I started to say.

"Cupcake it's a wedding!" He protested. Finally we agreed on a church wedding. We'll invite all of our friends.

The day finally came. I woke up, well rested. I was so excited.

I walked to the mirror. My hair was messed up, I was in a tank top and shorts. I didn't care. The wedding wasn't until 12.

I got out of my room and started towards the kitchen. Someone behind me grabbed me and put their hands around my face.

"Johnnycake!" I complained. He just chuckled.

"I have a surprise for you," he said and led me through the hallway. He sat me down in the table. I could smell something good.

He let go. i was staring into a delicious piece of chocolate cake. "Did you make this, Johnny?" I asked.

He nodded. "I know how much you love it, so I learned," he grinned.

I got up and kissed him, "You always know what to do to make a special day even better" I said.

"Eat up," he said as he sat down in front of me.

"You're the reason I'm fat," I said.

"Oh come one," He tapped my stomach, "You don't even got anything there,"

We ate cake and he made me laugh. "You got some cake around your lips," He said as he howled in laughter.

"Well I need help to take it off," I said and fluttered my eyelashes. He laughed even more and came up to me, "Whatever you say Cupcake,"

He kissed me right where the chocolate was. On my lips. I laughed.

I checked my watch. It was 10 o'clock. "We have two hours. Then off to the church," I said. His eyes went wide, "Then we better start getting ready.

I was a little nervous. I had an appointment in the hair salon. I've never been to the hair salon.

The lady was working with another guy. It didn't take her long to notice me, "Hi. I'm Patricia. Do you have an appointment?" She asked sweetly.

"Yes," I responded. She told me sit in the chair next to her.

I sat down and sunk down in my seat. It was real comfortable. Patricia showed me a book of hairstyles.

"So what is this for?" She asked. "A wedding," I told her. Her eyes lit up in excitement, "A wedding?" She sighed dreamily and flipped to the back of the book. There were pictures of girls in wedding dresses with their backs against us so we saw their hair. They were beautiful

I pointed to one for the prettiest ones  The lady smiled and started working on my hair.

By the time she was done, It was about eleven o'clock. I looked at myself in the mirror and gasped. My hair was simply beautiful.

I paid Patricia and as I was heading out the door she said, "I hope he's a good man!" I laughed to myself.

I went to the apartment. My wedding dress was waiting in my bed  It was real pretty. I carefully put it on as if I was dressing with a delicate flower.

I looked at myself in the mirror and spun around in delight. It looked gorgeous!

I left my room and the doorbell rang. I rushed and opened the door to see a bunch of girls outside. They squealed when they saw me.

"You looked soooo adorable," Sandy said.

"That's such a cute wedding dress!" gushed Evie.

"I am so happy for you," Said Cherry as she hugged me.

"We both are," Said Marcia behind me. They were all my bridesmaids.

Behind them was Dally. He had a tuxedo on. It looked like he was a little uncomfortable. He grinned when he saw me.

"You looked pretty," he said. I blushed.

"I'll be taking you down the aisle. Since, you know. Your dad won't..." he said.

"I understand. What better person to do that than Dallas Winston?" I said. He chuckled.

The car is outside we should go," he said. i turned back, "See you guys there" I waved to the girls.

Outside, we went inside a white beautiful car we had rented, thanks to Sodapop's help.

The church was a few blocks away, but my dress was real long and it would get ruined. it was a little itchy, but I wore it because Johnny really liked it.

Dally helped me get out of the car like a true gentlemen. I bothered him about it.

He held out his elbow and I held on to his arm. We entered the church and everyone stood up. I saw Ponyboy and his brothers, Two-bit and Steve were there too. A few friends were there. My grandma was even there. She heard about my wedding and visited me from Miami.

As we were walking down the aisle, Dally whispered in my ear, "Now you take good care of Johnny, ya hear? He's a good kid and has been through a lot. I was the first person he said about the proposal, and I right away I agreed it was about time. He loves you with all his heart," he said and smiled as he let me go.

Johnny was in front of me. He on a tuxedo on and combed back hair. He only put a little grease though. He only did that to look fancy.

He had the most saddest smile I have ever seen. he looked like he was going to cry and laugh at the same time. He held my hand.

He held me hand and said, "You look beautiful. The best thing I've ever seen,"

"You don't look too bad yourself," I replied. He chuckled.

"We are gathered here today, to celebrate the marriage of Cadence Sheldon and Jonathan Cade..." The priest started. I wasn't listening to the rest. I was so lost in Johnny's eyes.

"Do you, Johnny Cade, take Cadence to be your lawful wife, for as long as you both shall live?" The priest asked Johnny.

"I do,"

"And do you, Cadance Sheldon, take Jonathan Cade to be your lawful husband for as long as you both shall live?" he asked me.

"I do," I replied.

The priest shut his book "You may now kiss the bride" he said.

Johnny pulled me real close grabbing my waist, made me lean back a little, and kissed me.

Everyone cheered.

The church bell rang and he pulled me away. We walked down the aisle. Ponyboy was clapping and cheering. Sodapop and Steve were howling like a pair of wolves. I laughed. All the girls were crying a little. Darry and Two-bit were cheering the loudest and clapping. but Dally stood there. Smiling the widest smile I've ever seen on his face.

As we ran down the church steps, I threw my bouquet of flowers behind me. I looked to see who had caught it. Cherry had it in her hands and glanced at Ponyboy, whose ears turned red.

I looked back at Johnny, who smiling a big smile. He looked at me and kissed me once more. He picked me up and carried me, we went down laughing

It was the happiest moment of my life.
