My hands were trembling.

I held them together as i bit my lip in anxiousness.

"Calm down, jeez, it's like they're gonna eat you or anything." Selena spoke, her hands on the steering wheel.

"Im sorry, im just..really nervous."I mumbled.

"Yeah, i realized." She replied as she took a look at me.

"Look at you, you look as if you're going to explode right here and now."

"I might as well."

She sighed as she pulled up to a house.

"Oh my God, are we here already?" My eyes widened.

"Im not ready. Selena, im not ready, lets go back home please."

Selena took my hands and held them in hers.

"Sofia. I understand that all of this happened way too fast and you're not prepared for this but .. you can't be scared forever. One way or another, you're gonna have to get this done." Selena explained softly.

I whined a little before closing my eyes and taking a deep breath.

"Okay, im ready."

I wasn't. But i'll be damned if i let my sister meet a rapist in vain for nothing just to find out about my father.

I give her a shaky smile and stepped out the car.

The house itself was.. simple. It was a small house, grey in colour with chipping paint on the wooden brown door and dying plants on the window still. The curtains were visible even from here, beautiful but broken material ruining the delicate details on it.

There was no car parked in front and bin bags were piling up in the corner of the building. My heart broke a little.

This would be the life i'd be living had my parents actually wanted me.

"Nope, nope, i lied im not ready, let's go back." I started as i completely turned my body around around.

"You're not going anywhere, stop being such a pussy."

"You're right. Of course you're right i should just suck it up and get this over wi-"

"AI! Pendeja come back here, im gonna tell mama that you broke her favourite mug i swear to jesus Valeria," the shouting was heard all the way across the street and my eyes widened as i stopped talking.

"Leave me alone, loca! I didn't do anything-" spanish? Were they spanish? My sister grabbed my hand and led us forward. Now standing right in front of the door, the voices were way clearer.

"MAMA!"

"QUE QUIERES?"

"SANTANA SWORE AT ME-" the little girl's voice continued deepening the crack in my heart. They have other children. Other siblings. It was just me they didn't want?

"DIOS MIO, WHAT THE HELL ARE YO-"

Selena rung the doorbell before the woman could finish her sentence.

There was a curse in an older sounding voice and i looked at Selena to see her smiling comfortingly at me. "I'll be there with you." She reminded me and i nodded, knocking on the wooden door.

"We have guests! Shit! No esperaba a nadie! I want this house spotless in 3 seconds i swear to God himself Santana, go get the broom."

I wondered if Santana was the voice of my sister. But then i shook my head. My only sister was Selena

"Ahh mama, it's not even that dirty, just open the damn door."

The door suddenly opened, a short tan girl greeting us.

"H-hello." I greeted, eyes wide as they could go at the sight of her.

"Hi." The girl responded. She had big brown eyes with the prettiest lashes i'd ever seen. Light brown hair down to her waist and curly. So curly it reminded me of my own before i drive a straightener through it every morning.

"Uh- im Sofia." I introduced myself, not sure if I should shake her hand or not, after all she looks like she's 8 years old.

I didn't get the chance to ponder on that because next thing I knew, a new face replaced her.

"Hello! How may i help you?" A woman who looked in about her mid forties said, a slight spanish accent clearly prominent. Oh my Gosh, is it her? I couldn't help thinking.

Ignoring my sweaty palms and frantically beating heart i shot the kind looking woman a smile.

"Um im Sofia Black, this is my sister Selena, we were wondering if this was where Isabella Gomez lives?"

"Who's asking?" The woman laughs nervously. I could tell she was struggling a little bit with her English, but she was so stunning. Her also curly hair was pulled up in an elegant bun and she had green eyes that contrasted her dark hair beautifully. Her lips seemed naturally red and dimples adored her cheeks. I wasn't sure if this was my mother, but if it was, she was incredibly beautiful.

I laughed awkwardly, not knowing how to respond to that.

"Yes, im her. Why, is everything all right?" The woman answered again, seeming concerned.

She was crying.

Not even, sobbing.

I had told her my dad's name and she just suddenly started wailing.

"Oh, excuse me," Isabella apologised in between tears. "I haven't heard that name in seventeen years and I didn't think id ever get the chance to again." She sniffed before grabbing one of the tissues from Selena's offering hand. She mumbled a 'gracias' and wiped away her tears.

"You must be my daughter," She stared at me with adoration almost. "You have his eyes."

I was surprised she just got straight to it, no questions asked. But from her face i knew she probably waited a long time for me to reach out to her.

I winded at her comment. I did not want to have the eyes of my sister's rapist's stepdad, but here we were.

"U-uh yeah, i guess so." I smiled awkwardly.

She took both my hands and held them close to her.

"Im so sorry cariño." She dropped my hands and framed my face. "I want you to know I've thought about you for every second of my life since I've made the mistake of letting you go." I bit my tongue to not say something stupid like 'then why did you?' Because honestly, looking around in this house i could tell why she had done it.

They were poor. It stung that she decided to keep the other two daughters that i had seen earlier when i knocked on their door but if anything, she did me a favour. I lived comfortably. They didn't.

The house felt cozy, homely. But from the stone peeking behind the placed rug and the stain on the ceiling i was sure was only growing each day, i could tell they weren't doing too well.

From the corner of my eye, i could see the little girl from earlier tugging at her sister's shirt and rapidly asking questions in what i could only guess was Spanish. They were hispanic. Colombian.

I guess that only meant I was Colombian. It was weird.

"You're all grown up. You look so much like your dad." Isabella whispered.

I adverted my attention back to her.

"About that... My dad..? Who exactly is he, if you don't mind me asking." I asked as i took her hands from my face and held them.

"Ah- he doesnt matter," she changed the subject. "Sorry i keep mentioning him. Hes not in the picture anymore."

She seemed hurt at the mention of him so i knew it 'mattered'. Nonetheless, i dropped the subject. I could tell it made Selena next to me uncomfortable, anyway.

It was 11:00 pm.

Selena and I were ready to leave after rounds and rounds of her crying and thanking me for coming to visit her. She had told me i was her first child when she was only seventeen, she had no choice but give me up since her father would've kicked her out. My dad was a family friend of theirs and took me in.

Two years later, she got married away to another man by her father to cover up the embarrassment she had caused their family. That man had passed away last year, which was why they were now struggling, with barely a money source in herself and her sixteen year old daughter.

My technical half sister. She hadn't made the effort of talking to me today but I couldn't blame her.

I was waiting on the living room couch when the little girl from earlier slid next to me.

"Psst lady." She poked my arm. "Who are you?"

I smiled, finding her quite adorable.

"Im Sofia, its really nice to meet you. What's your name?"

She looked sceptical at first.

"Valeria. Are you my new sister?" She crossed her arms.

"W-well i mean-" i was taken back by the sudden question.

"Because i already have an older sister and she's mean. I don't mind replacing her."

I laughed and lightly pinched her cheek.

"Im not here to replace you sister Valeria, but im sure we could become friends."

With that, the older girl (Santana) lifted herself off the staircase and headed our way, grabbing Valeria's arm and pulling her off the couch from next to me.

"What do you think you're doing?" She hissed at the little girl.

"Uh i was just talking to Sofia."

"Well leave! Don't bother the guest." Santana scolded.

"Hmph fine you old fish." Valeria grumbled, snatching her arm away from her sister's hold.

'See? Mean' she mouthed at me.

"Anyway, mom wants you to have this." Santana handed me a white bag. I looked inside briefly to see some polaroid pictures. Some of them had a baby and I instantly knew they were baby pictures of me. I carefully held the bag in my arms, i couldn't wait to go home and look through them.

"You can leave now." Santana coldly added once i looked up from the bag.

I awkwardly switched from leg to leg.

"Okay. I'll just grab Selena and we'll be out of your hair." I smiled.

"Okay then. I'll see you tomorrow at school, Sofia." She said before turning around.

I frowned.

See you at school.

Does she go to my school?

A/N hi... it's been...a year.

Im really super duper sorry. I promised i would update but im not really feeling it that much anymore.

I feel like the plot is getting boring and nothing is happening, even though i had the whole thing planned out.

It's taking too long. But here, for the readers that i no longer have, a brand new (not really, actually 3 months old) chapter.

I apologise but i don't think anyone is reading this anymore .

Still though, i made a promise to myself to finish this book and idk why it's taking so long.

But anyway. I've been kinda stressed. Moving countries and then going to a new school only to change to a new one just a year later, no time to adjust whatsoever.

But, im working on my new book, which im certain I will publish in a few weeks.

It's a bts fanfic. And im really proud of it.

So hopefully I'll see you all there where my writing is not as cringe and more developed :)
