Elliot Rivers walked into the campus of his new college like he was a king. He didn't feel like an outsider, no. He felt normal, happy even. The girls gave him a fleeting glance, just out of pure curiosity. The same curiosity you have when you don't know a person, a curiosity with which you look at a stranger.

The guys, however, were a different story, but Elliot didn't notice that. The guys ignored him, half of them just out of basic indifference, others out of hatred. The football team had told them what had happened, and they didn't like him one bit after that.

Elliot glanced at his phone one more time, waiting to see if she had messaged, but sighed when he saw nothing. Picking up his pace, he walked to his lecture to see his insanely hot lab partner already there before him. He plastered a smirk across his face and strode with confidence, only his lab partner didn't even bother to look up at him, eyes stuck to her phone as she conversed with someone.

He rolled his eyes and took a seat beside her. She'll look, he was sure of it, and when she looks, he knew he would ask her out. She'll reject him, but he'll ask again. One day, she'll say yes, and that day he'll take her out.

But till that day arrives, he would keep asking. Because no matter what, she will say yes. After all, his old lab partner always did.

Aliana.

The name brought a sour taste to his mouth, thinking back to his last encounter with her. His friend had been a racist, he didn't like it very much, but there was also the fact that she deserved it. After all, she deserved it, after everything she had done.

After one grave mistake, she had made.

The ma'am walked in, glancing over all of the students as she discussed the project they're supposed to be doing. Elliot looked over at his partner in question, and out of irritation, she looked back at him. He asked her with a slight movement of his neck if she was done with the project, to which she rolled her eyes and looked back at the ma'am.

"Amanda and Elliot, I would like to talk to you both," the ma'am said, making both of them get up and walk over to the front of the class.

The ma'am looked at both of them and nodded ever so slightly, "Elliot, it has come to my notice that Amanda is finished with her project."

Elliot's face lightened up, and a smile took over his features, "That's amazing!"

The ma'am shook her head in disdain, "She finished hers. You have not done anything. She told me how you told her to complete your part as well."

"She did?" Elliot asked, looking at Amanda from the corner of his eyes to find her looking at the professor.

"Yes. Now, I need your part of the project to be done only by you. I have already reduced your marks by a bit as I do not tolerate such irresponsible behaviour. Get it done by tomorrow."

Elliot looked at his professor in shock. There was no way he was going to be able to do his part all by himself by tomorrow. The professor looked at both her students and smirked internally. It was always fun to put overly smart and disrespectful students in their places, she thought with glee.

She glanced at Amanda Lovell and gave her a barely noticeable nod. Amanda smiled slightly, to which the ma'am responded. The professor had remarked in wonder when Amanda had come to her the day before, telling her about her lab partner who never did any work. To say she was shocked was an understatement when Amanda had told her. Not because she had the utmost confidence in Elliot, no. It was because Amanda out of all people had told her this. All the professors knew that Amanda, no matter what people spoke around her about her, always did her work on time, without a single complaint about any of her past partners. She had detected an underlying reason for her complaint this time, but she decided not to call her out on it. After all, Amanda seemed happier nowadays as compared to a few months ago, so whatever she was doing, she trusted.

Elliot nodded dejectedly after hearing his professor's strict words. He walked away without a word when the ma'am said the class is over and they could leave. He glared at Amanda, but she hardly paid him any mind, walking right past him and removing her phone from her back pocket. He sighed and looked at his watch and remarked that it was lunchtime.

He packed up his stuff and started walking towards the coffee shop in campus, deciding to get a coffee and finding a junior to finish off his project because there was no way he was doing it alone.

He opened the door of the coffee shop and walked in, the aroma of freshly baked bread wafting around the shop. Although not as amazing and inexpensive as the Bakery was, he made do with what was available to him.

Walking up to the counter, he noticed a man and a woman talking animatedly with another employee, and it took Elliot to clear his throat to grab their attention. The man turned around, and upon seeing him, his smile turned into a smirk. The man looked familiar, but Elliot didn't know from where. It didn't help that the man was smirking at him as if he knew something about Elliot, but Elliot just chalked it up to him being delirious.

"Good afternoon. What would you like today?" the man asked him in, what Elliot was sure he was imagining, a mocking tone.

"Could I get a vanilla muffin and a large coffee please?" Elliot said.

"I'm sorry sir. We don't have a vanilla muffin."

Elliot furrowed his eyebrows and glanced at the display of cakes and muffins.

He could clearly see a vanilla muffin.

"But I can see one right there," Elliot said, making the girl beside the man behind the counter smile sweetly.

Only, the smile was sickly sweet and not even a bit genuine.

"I'm sorry but that's not for you," she said, making Elliot's head get hot with anger.

"What do you fucking mean? I'm your customer!"

"But you're an asshole first," Maverick Wright, standing behind the counter said cheekily.

"Excuse me?" Elliot spits out as if he couldn't believe his ears.

"You heard him right," Madhura replied from beside Maverick, smiling at the man who dared to cross her sister.

Nobody crossed Aliana except her siblings, and she will make sure everyone knows this.

"What the fuck is going on?" Elliot exclaimed as he glanced around the café, hoping one of the customers would realise something is wrong.

Except, when everyone turned around, all he saw was red.

Because the only table occupied in the entire café was staring at him, more like smirking at him and he recognised quite a few people in the group.

"Oh look! Everyone's here!" Elliot exclaimed sarcastically as he glared at Nathan, Eli, Noah Jackson, who was his roommate and, Elliot had to take a double-take, Oliver Jackson?

"Yep. We just had to come to meet you," Nathan said, smirking at Elliot.

"Where's your little girlfriend?" Elliot smirked back at Nathan.

Nathan smiled back wider and leaned back in his chair, "Nowhere you should know about."

"Oh? Is she hiding with shame? Or did she get scared I would make her do something she wouldn't appreciate?"

Elliot saw with satisfaction as Nathan's jaw ticked with anger, his palm curling into two angry fists.

"Again, where she is, is none of your business."

"Oh well, I have no other work to do then," Elliot remarked as he lowered himself down on one of the million empty chairs.

But as soon as he said that, their smiles grew wider as they all looked at each other.

"I wouldn't be too sure about that buddy," Maverick said, walking around the counter and leaning against it.

"Why? Did you send Amanda to snitch on me again to other teachers? Real mature guys," Elliot laughed.

"You would want to check your phone," Eli said, a mischievous look in his eyes.

And that is when Elliot fetched his phone from his pocket and unlocked it to a flood of notifications.

"Leaked my nudes?" Elliot said, trying to make a joke of the situation, undermining them all.

"What would they even do?" thought Elliot as he opened his Twitter app.

And he was finally met with a thread about himself.

Elliot Rivers is a monster who no one should have the curse of encountering. Recalling countless nightmares he has put people through, a few people from his past have finally spoken up. From his friends constantly disrespecting people of colour and sexual orientation to girls recalling countless horrors of dates he fooled them into, he has quite the mask on. In this thread, I have numerous people unmasking this monster for everyone to see. Elliot Rivers, I hope for your sake that you never come face to face with me.

His eyes widened when they read who had written this tweet.

The one person he had been avoiding ever since he was transferred to this college.

Mia Davis.

"What the fuck?" he mumbled as he scrolled through a long thread about himself, reading off a few comments where angry bystanders stood up in defence of the people who wrote the tweets in the thread.

"Well, you see Elliot, it's never a good idea to screw around with people," Nathan said, looking at him.

Elliot raised his head and stood up, and even then, Nathan towered a few inches over him, both in height and power.

"And you messed with the wrong person when you thought you could trouble Aliana. She's too good to say anything against you, but she has a solid wall of family and friends behind her. So, you better not show your face to us again."

Elliot's face was red in anger and embarrassment as he glared with pure hatred towards the people who had anger written on their faces as well. With one last glare at everyone, he stormed out of the café and out were a few people glanced over at him with hate.

Everyone had read the thread.

He speed-walked to reach his apartment, sure that Noah wasn't going to come back anytime soon, and on the way, he passed by the Bakery and paused, looking beyond the glass doors with white boiling rage.

"This isn't over," Elliot says to himself, "Elliot Rivers doesn't bow down after humiliation. I'm not going to go down this easy."

And time would tell that this was, in fact, the truth.

Well well well. Look who decided to get something up. I have always wanted to do this chapter in third person, and writing in third person always excites me. I don't even know why. This chapter was meant to be short, kind of like a late interlude. it's different, I needed to do this.

Anywhooo, question?

Q. What is something you would do if a person is acting like an asshole/ bitch to your close friend?

Anyway, tell me if you like the chapter! I don't expect anything obviously, but just a few votes and comments never kill someone hahaha. I'll talk to you all next week! Ciao!

Love,

Anya <3
