They couldn't arrive at the camp fast enough.

Y/n got out of the car almost as soon as it stopped. It was cold, she was tired, she was hungry and thirsty, but she couldn't help the relieved smile that took over her face as she looked over the camp. It was small, people were bustling around and there were fires burning to generate at least a bit of warmth.

They were finally safe.

''They've been planning this for over a year now,'' Harriet explained as they walked down towards the camp. ''This is all for us.''

Sonya looked back at the group. ''You guys are lucky you found us when you did. We're moving out at first light. Where's Vince?''

''Somewhere over there, I think,'' someone answered before they walked away.

''Who's Vince?'' asked Thomas.

''He's the one who decides if you get to stay,'' Harriet answered.

''I thought the Right Arm was supposed to be an army,'' Minho spoke up. Y/n silently nodded in agreement — that's how she remembered it, at least.

''Yeah, we were,'' a voice spoke and everyone stopped. Vince. ''This is all that's left of us.'' A middle aged man walked out from one of the tents, making his way towards the group. ''Lot of good people died getting us this far. Who are they?''

''They're Immunes,'' Harriet answered. ''Caught 'em coming up the mountain.''

''Did you check them?'' Vince asked.

Y/n looked at Brenda, who was in front of her and breathing heavily. She furrowed her eyebrows.

''I know this guy, Aris,'' Harriet pointed at the blond. ''I trust him.''

''Well, I don't. Check 'em.''

Brenda's breathing intensified and Y/n took a step forward, putting a hand on her shoulder. ''Brenda?''

''Hey, boss . . .'' one of the men spoke, looking at Brenda as well.

Brenda suddenly gasped and fell forward, face-first on the ground. ''Brenda!'' Jorge quickly fell down to her side, Y/n following after.

''What's going on?''

''Hey, Brenda, you okay?'' Y/n asked as she looked over the girl's body, trying to find what she was fearing of. Jorge took her in his arms as she started apologizing.

''What's going on with her?'' Vince asked as he kneeled down next to Jorge.

''I don't know. Brenda, are you all right?''

Y/n's eyes fell on her leg, seeing bandages wrapped around it. Vince had noticed it at the same time and slowly pulled them down, revealing a bite. He quickly jumped back and took out his pistol. ''Oh, shit! Crank! We got a Crank!''

''No!''

Everyone started yelling, Thomas standing in front of Brenda and Minho quickly pulling Y/n back, away from the gun and Brenda. Y/n had a hand over her mouth, her eyes never leaving the bite mark.

''This just happened, okay? She's not dangerous yet,'' Thomas tried to reason with Vince.

''You shouldn't have brought her here!'' Vince yelled in Thomas' face.

''I know.''

''We let Cranks in here now, the safe heaven doesn't last a week! Step back!''

''I understand, okay?'' Thomas said, taking a step back. ''I understand. Just listen. Please. Please, okay? I told her that you could help. Okay? There's gotta be something you can do.''

Vince kept his gun pointed at Brenda as she continued gasping for breath on the ground. ''Yeah, there is.'' He took his gun down, cocked it and pointed it back at Brenda. ''I can put her out of her misery.''

''No! No!'' Jorge trashed against the two men holding him, but they were too strong, even for him.

''Vince! That's enough! Let him go,'' a woman spoke as she came over to the group. Y/n's eyes fell on her face and she blinked, the sudden headache returning.

''I can't do this anymore.''

''Please, you have to help us.''

''Please, Mary, we can't keep watching them.''

Y/n's eyes snapped open again and she was breathing heavily. The woman now stood next to Vince, looking at the group. ''She's infected, Doc. There's nothing we can do for her.''

The woman cracked a smile. ''No. But they can.'' She looked at Thomas. ''Hello, Thomas. Y/n.''

''What?'' Thomas asked. ''You know me?''

''You're that woman that helped us before,'' Y/n said as she stepped closer, stopping next to Thomas. ''You're . . . You're Mary, right?''

Mary nodded, looking at Thomas. ''Interesting. They ended up putting you in the Maze as well. Though I must admit, I was worried they'd kill you after what you did.'' Mary was now kneeling next to Brenda, checking her pulse.

''What I did?'' Thomas asked.

Mary looked up at the two again. ''The first time we spoke, you two said you couldn't take it anymore, watching your friends die, one by one. After that not only did you help sneak Y/n into the Maze, but the last time we spoke, you gave me the coordinates to every WICKED compound, trial and lab.''

Vince was now looking at the two. ''They were our source.''

Y/n looked up at all her friends that were now looking at her and Thomas. She made eye contact with Teresa, who's mouth hung slightly open at the revelation.

''We couldn't have pulled it off without them,'' Mary said and looked back down at Brenda. ''Take her to the tent. Get there guys some warm clothes.'' The two men that used to hold Jorge back picked Brenda up and brought her further into camp. Mary took Thomas along, saying she needed blood from him. She gave Y/n a look before she left, one of pity and sadness.

Y/n wasn't sure what that meant.

The darker it got, the colder it became, so Y/n was thankful for the additional gloves and scarf the Right Arm had given her. She was sitting between Minho's legs, the two along with Frypan and Newt sitting on top of a small hill looking over the camp. Aris was with Sonya and Harriet, Thomas and Brenda were still gone, and Teresa had run off as soon as Thomas had left.

Minho's arms were around her, providing additional warmth. She leaned her head back on his shoulder, feeling at peace for the first time since before Thomas arrived at the Glade. She looked up at Minho as best as she could. ''Can't believe a few days ago we would've been just now coming back from the Maze to go to the Map Room.''

Minho looked down at her as well. ''It's weird how quick life changes.''

Newt turned to look at the two, leaning on his knee. ''The woman said Thomas helped you sneak into the Maze. What did that mean?''

Y/n looked down at her conjoined hand with Minho for a second before looking at Newt. ''I was a mistake in their experiment, apparently. I don't know weather I was ever meant to be put in there with you guys like Teresa, but I remember Thomas and I sneaking in just before they were about to bring another boy in. That same boy ended up arriving a month after me, so I'm guessing I did screw up their plans.''

''That explains the sudden unusual Griever activity. They were trying to take you out,'' Minho thought out-loud.

''I'm guessing so.'' Y/n shrugged. ''They couldn't just walz in and take me without raising suspicion, so I guess once I entered the Maze I made it easier for them.''

Thomas suddenly joined the group, cutting their conversation short as he sat down. Y/n expected he was going to say something about Brenda, but he remained silent, so she didn't ask anything, either.

''I wish Alby could've seen all of this,'' Newt spoke as he overlooked the camp.

''And Winston,'' Frypan added.

''And Chuck,'' Thomas said as he looked down at the small wooden figure Chuck had given him just before he died.

''He'd be proud of you,'' Newt said as Thomas looked at him. ''you know, Tommy.''

Thomas nodded. ''Yeah.''

''Hey, Aris!'' Frypan called out and the blond looked up from where he was sitting around a fire with Sonya and Harriet, giving the Gladers a wave. ''I kinda like that kid.''

''Yeah. I still don't trust him, though,'' Minho admitted.

Y/n scoffed, looking up at him. ''I'm the pessimist in the relationship, remember?'' The Gladers cracked smiles, feeling light for the first time in a while.

After a moment, Y/n put her hands on Minho's knees and stood up, dusting the back of her pants and turning to face the four boys. ''I need to go find Mary, I have something to talk about with her.''

''You want me to come with you?'' Minho asked, but she shook her head, reassured him she would be quick, and made her way down the small hill.

She stuffed her hands inside her jacket's pockets, looking around for Mary. It didn't take long for her to spot her standing near a tent with Vince, the two of them talking about who knew what. She debated if it was okay to interrupt their conversation, but she needed answers.

''I'm so sorry for the interruption,'' Y/n said as soon as she shoot in front of the two adults, who shut up at the sight of her. ''Mary, can we please talk?''

Mary looked at Vince, who nodded and walked inside the tent. The woman turned to Y/n, giving her a warm smile. ''Let's take a walk, shall we?''

They moved away from the tents and started slowly walking around camp. Mary was silent, waiting for Y/n to speak. ''I was put in the Maze, but you already know that.'' Mary nodded. ''And you also know Thomas helped me get in there. Which means I was a mistake in there.''

''Well, you were meant to be in the Maze, just not as early as you entered,'' Mary explained. ''Teresa ended up taking your place, apparently.''

Y/n nodded. ''I guess. But it doesn't make sense. I have these memories coming back to me at random, but that doesn't happen to anyone else. I remember the day Thomas snuck me in, he gave me the serum and everything. I don't understand why I'm the only one who remembers so much. And once we arrived at the WICKED compound after the Maze I started getting even more memories back. None of it makes sense, even Thomas and Teresa don't remember, why am I different?''

''The Swipe is very dependable on the right dose. If Thomas didn't give you enough, it wouldn't work properly,'' Mary explained and then took a sigh. ''When you arrived at the WICKED compound, did you happen to run in a doctor by the name Sanchez?''

Y/n wracked her brain, suddenly remembering her inspecting doctor. ''Yeah. What about her?''

''She's an insider. We rarely hear from her, but she's instructed to reverse the Swipe on kids who used to be major players in WICKED's scheme before they were sent in the Maze, like you, Thomas and Teresa. I guess she only managed to get your memories back before you guys escaped,'' Mary explained and came to a stop, putting a hand on her shoulder. ''You haven't remembered everything, have you?''

''I don't think so.'' Y/n furrowed her eyebrows. Mary's puttying look remained on her face. ''You keep looking at me weird. There's something you're not telling me, isn't there?''

''Y/n—''

''Mary, can you come over here? We've got an emergency!'' someone called out behind them and Mary looked back.

She pursed her lips before looking back at Y/n. ''We'll talk about this later, okay? I'll tell you everything.'' Y/n could do nothing but nod and watch Mary walk away to help whoever needed it, leaving her with more questions than answers.

She decided to make her way back towards her friends, though as she started going up the hill, she noticed Minho already trotting down, watching his feet. ''Minho?''

He finally looked up, almost tripping over a pebble, causing him to run through the last few steps and almost crash into her. ''Sorry. I was coming to look for you.''

''Oh? Did something happen?'' Y/n asked, sudden worry taking over her.

''No, nothing. I just wanted to be alone with you for a bit and relax,'' Minho said as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders, continuing to walk away from the camp. ''We haven't been able to be alone in a while.''

''Yeah, you're right,'' Y/n agreed, wrapping her arm around his waist. ''But now that we're here, we can spend all the time we want together. As long as we do our jobs, I guess. It's going to be like back in the Glade.''

Minho squeezed her shoulder. ''Yeah, I can't wait for that. I wonder where we're going tomorrow.'' Minho looked at her, a gentle and relieved smile on his face. ''What if we're somewhere near the sea? We can finally fulfill that dream, you know.''

''It feels so unreal, I never thought we would actually see the sea,'' Y/n admitted, looking at Minho as well. ''What happens after we see the sea?''

Minho stopped and turned to fully face her, grabbing her face in his hands. They weren't too far from the camp, but they weren't visible to the people walking around. ''Then we find another dream. We live our lives, free and together. I get to spend the rest of my life with the most amazing girl ever. What else could I ask for?''

Y/n smiled. Her stomach fluttered and she felt her cheeks warming up. She leaned in and pressed her lips to his, wrapping her arms around his neck and feeling his fall down to her waist. They moved slow, tender. His lips were chapped and dry, but Y/n craved nothing more at the moment. She pulled away, keeping their faces at an inch distance. ''And I get to spend the rest of my life with the most handsome, sometimes reckless and bravest boy ever. I think I got the better deal out of this.''

''Shut up, you know you're the better looking one in the relationship,'' Minho said as he pressed another kiss to her lips, but Y/n quickly pulled away.

''Well now you're just lying. Have you seen yourself in a mirror? Holy, the things I'd let you do to me,'' Y/n admitted shamelessly, causing Minho to laugh.

''If you just stop fighting me on this I can show you what I can do to you, dumbass,'' Minho said as he pressed a kiss to her neck, causing her to laugh.

''Seriously? Right in front of camp and in the dust?'' Y/n asked as she ran her fingers through his hair, enjoying his touch. ''You want to have ash up your asscrack?''

Minho pulled away, though he still kept her in his arms. ''Great way to ruin the mood, don't you think?''

Y/n gestured back towards camp. ''You see a shower over here? How're you gonna wash your ass after this?''

Minho couldn't help but snort at her words. He leaned his forehead on hers, closing his eyes. ''You're such an idiot.''

''But I'm your idiot,'' Y/n added.

''Yeah, yeah.'' Minho pulled away and pressed a kiss to her forehead before pulling her in for a tight hug. ''I love you so much. You don't understand how thankful I am we managed to make it through everything together.''

Y/n squeezed him tightly, burying her face in his shoulder. ''Me too. I love you so much. I can't wait to spend the rest of our lives together.''

Minho nodded, running a hand through her hair. ''Y/n, will you—''

He was cut off by a huge explosion coming from the camp.
