Y/n's back was pressed against the gray wall of the Maze as Minho had her trapped between his arms, their lunches left on two napkins on the floor, long forgotten. The sun was shining down on them and it was quiet with no Gladers around to disturb them.

''Mmm, Minho.'' Y/n pulled off for a moment. ''I really wanna finish my sandwich.''

''You're always so hungry,'' Minho commented before placing one last peck on her cheek. Then on her neck. Then on her lips. Then he pulled away. ''Fine. We'll continue this later.''

Not that she'd been counting the days, but Y/n was sure she's been with Minho for well over a month now - some Gladers knew due to catching them kissing at different places throughout the glade (Newt had warned them to lock the Mapping Room next time), but they never really announced it, deciding to let people figure it out by themselves.

''Are we checking out that new section Lucas and Ben found?'' asked Y/n in-between bites.

Minho nodded. ''Yeah. It's the last one we haven't checked.''

Both of them remained silent. They knew what that meant. If that new place was blocked as well, it would truly be over. It hadn't hit Y/n as hard yet, even though Minho had warned her they were most likely trapped in the Maze for the rest of their lives. But there were still new parts being found, there was still a silver of hope.

The two took off soon after, their steps echoing off the walls. Minho led the way, following the direction Ben and Lucas had given him and soon enough, they made it to the place.

''It's just like the others.'' Minho sighed as he looked at the tall blades in front of them. ''C'mon, let's check out if there's an exit around.''

There was, of course, no exit. A solid cement wall awaited them, just like in the other seven sections they'd checked out before. Minho stood in front of it, hands on his hips as he looked up. He took a deep breath before dropping his head down and kicking away a stone.

Y/n quietly approached him from the back, putting a hand on his shoulder. ''Minho . . .?''

He remained silent for a moment. Unmoving. Then he abruptly turned around and faced her, his face devout of emotion. ''We should continue running our usual route.''

''Minho . . .'' Biting the inside of her cheek, Y/n watched for a moment as Minho took off, following soon after. The two ran in silence and Y/n wasn't sure what to say to Minho to console him. He's the one who explored the whole maze from scratch, the one who started it full of hope over an year ago. Finding out their - possibly - last exit was just a cement wall they couldn't even climb over must feel like a punch in the face to him.

They ran in silence for the rest of the day and returned to the Glade about ten minutes before the doors closed, being the last ones to arrive back. They went to the Mapping Room and Y/n got to work, drawing the route they'd ran that day, while Minho stood in front of the recreated maze in the middle of the room.

''There really is no way out of here, huh?'' Minho thought out loud, causing Y/n's hand to stop drawing. She looked up from the paper and at Minho, pursing her lips. Standing up, she wrapped her arms around him in a side hug, looking at the model as well.

''I'm sorry, Minho,'' Y/n said as she felt him wrap his own arms around her, bringing her into his chest as he rested his chin on her head.

''It's okay,'' Minho said as he stroke her back, his eyes stuck on the wooden door. ''I'm sorry we won't be able to see the sea.''

''That's alright.'' Y/n asked as she pulled away from him enough to be able to look in his eyes. ''We have each other and that's all that matters, right?''

Minho bit the inside of his cheek - he didn't want to be stuck in the Glade forever. He didn't want Y/n to be there forever, either. He didn't have hope anymore, but at least he had Y/n by his side and that fact made his life at least a little more bearable.

''Yeah.'' Minho nodded, a ghost of a smile on his face. ''You may be annoying at times, but I can live with that.''

''I was trying to be nice here and look what I'm getting in return,'' Y/n scoffed, pinching his side and causing him to yelp. ''If you expect disappointment, then you can never really be disappointed. That's the thoughts we should go into the Maze with.''

''I can't with your pessimistic ass,'' Minho sighed as he pressed a peck on her lips. ''Let's go get something to eat. Or are you expecting disappointment with Fry's cooking as well?"

''Yes, especially if he's making something new,'' Y/n said as she took Minho's hand and led him towards the kitchens.

''Fair. I stayed in the toilet for an hour last time,'' Minho mentioned, grimacing at the memory.

''I know, I was the one who had to run around and look for extra toilet paper, remember?'' Y/n reminded, causing Minho to chuckle.

Suck it up, Minho told himself as he walked after Y/n, holding tightly on her hand. Suck it up, Minho. Don't worry the others. Don't worry Y/n.
