2 months later

Ugh. I groan as I slip down my chair in math class. Today is the last day of school before we go onto winter break, and it's only first period. As a matter of fact, this class began about 5 minutes ago, meaning there are still 45 more minutes left of class.

I sigh as I tune out the teacher and turn my attention to Haley. She shoots me a sympathetic smile, before her eyes light up with an idea. She tears out a page of her notebook, before scribbling out something, then slipping me the note.

I look down, to read,

Sleepover tonight?

I look over at her and give her a weird look. Why can't she just text? Texting is way easier to hide from the teacher compared to passing a note back and forth.

She motions for me to write. I roll my eyes, and write back,

Sure. What are the plans?

I hand it back to her, as she grins. I turn my attention back towards the teacher, who is lecturing us about how to stay safe during the holidays. When she was about to get into the whole speech about drugs, the sheet of paper slid back onto my desk. I looked down to see a rather long paragraph waiting to be read.

Yay! Okay, so right after school, we go shopping. I'll drive. Then after that, we can go back to your house and bake something. IDK what tho. And dude, I have this new TV series we have to binge on Netflix. Oh! When we go shopping we need to get candy and stuff. Yes yes yes, Mia. This'll be great! You good with this?

I smile, and in return I write,

Sounds good! I'll find something good to try today. I'm excited!

I hand her the sheet back, and she reads it. She shoots me a large smile, then bounces in her seat. She puts the sheet of paper back into her folder. I tune back into the teacher's speech now about a personal horror story of a bikini wax she got last year. I quickly tune that out before zoning out on the brick wall.

The bell suddenly awoke me from my dead state of mind, causing me to jump. I quickly gather my things before wandering out of the classroom. Haley and I separate in the hallway, and I continue on my mission to my locker.

Once I arrive, I put in my combination and glance up. I see Leo coming towards me and I instantly smile, feeling butterflies in my stomach. My feelings for Leo have developed, as we have been hanging out more in school.

"Hey cupcake," Leo says with a smile. He gave me this nickname a few weeks ago because I baked him a (freaking awesome) cupcake for his birthday. Ever since then he's called me cupcake, and it literally makes my heart race every time he calls me it.

"Hey," I smile in return.

"So, how are you doing on this last day before break?" He says as I grab my books for my next class.

I groan, causing him to laugh.

"Not good?" He asks.

"Not good." I respond.

"Well, only a few more periods and you'll be free. It'll be here before you know it."

"How can you be such an optimist in a time like this?" I ask, gesturing around. Outside is gloomy, and the students inside replicate it. They all look like zombies.

"I don't know, but you shouldn't be complaining because I got you this!" He exclaims as he pulls a travel mug out from behind him.

I gasp, as I widen my eyes in excitement.

"Yup. It's hot chocolate, because I know how much you adore it,"

"No fricking way!" I say as I give him a huge hug, I feel him tense the slightest at my touch, but I decide to ignore it. "Thank you, my guardian angel," I mumble into his chest.

"Only for you, my darling," he says in an accent. I pull away and scrunch up my nose.

"Don't call me your darling, that's like what my grandma calls me," I say as he chuckles.

"Duly noted."

I sit down at the lunch table in between Leo and Haley.

"Hey, guys," I greet as everyone mutters a form of hello in response.

I began taking out my lunch, when I glance forward and see Logan making out with Sarah. I shake my head and begin to eat my lunch. Most of the student body has forgotten about me and Logan. Logan and I have both moved on, and I am proud to say I have no more feelings for him.

As I continue to eat my Nutella sandwich, Logan comes over and sits between Joey and Alex. We all exchange hellos and go back to what we were doing before. All the boys and Haley eventually forgave Logan. He is able to sit with us again, on one condition: no Sarah. He happily obliged, and our group is finally back to normal.

"So, is your day going better?" Leo asks as he turns to me.

"Oh yes, thank you again, Leo." I smile.

"I'm glad. Only 2 more periods."

"Thank God." I mumble.

"Yeah! 2 more periods before we go shopping!" Haley exclaims.

"Oh, you girls are going shopping today?" Ryan chimes in.

"Yup, you don't have to wait for me after school, I'm going with Haley," I add, Ryan nodding in response.

"Haley, if you love me buy me a jamba juice," Joey pleads, looking at Haley with big eyes.

"I love you Joey, but no jamba juice for you."

Joey gasps, "Haley! After all I've done for you, you won't buy me some juice!"

"Correct, sorry hun. It's a me and Mia day." Haley replies as she pats his head.

Joey shakes his head and pouts in response.

"If it makes you feel better Joe, I'll get jamba juice with you," Alex says with a wink.

"Oh yes please," Joey smirks back.

"Let's make that three," Logan adds, putting his arms around both of them.

"Okay, what the fuck is happening?" Haley asks.

"Sorry, babe. You've been replaced." Joey says, causing her to gasp. "Yes, you heard me. I'm going on a date with my two lovers to get me some Jamba juice."

"Oh my God. Are you in middle school?" Haley laughs, rolling her eyes.

"I honestly wouldn't be that surprised," Ryan added, causing the table to laugh.

The final bell finally rang dismissing us from torture. I was speed walking to my locker, when Leo joined in on my race to my locker.

"Wow, someone's in a hurry," he stated as he speed walked with me.

"Yup, I've wanted to leave since last week." I stated. I've actually never been this urgent to go home for break. It must be an acute case of senioritis.

"I see," he said before pausing, "So, do you remember a while back when we went to Olive Garden?"

I instantly remembered. That was when we had that creepy waiter, and we kissed! I felt my cheeks flush at the memory. "Of course, why?"

He smiles, "well. Remember how you said you would like to do it again?"

"Yeah," I answered, feeling like I know where this is going.

"Are you free tomorrow night for dinner?" Leo said quickly, looking very nervous.

"Yes, I am," I grin. Is this a date? Oh my God, did Leo just ask me out?

"Great! I'll pick you up at 7, and I promise you, no weird waiters," he smiles back down, relief washing over his features.

"Sweet." I reply, unable to control the wide smile on my face.

"Alright, I'm going to head to the training room. Have fun shopping with Haley," He said as he begins to leave.

"Will do. Bye, Leo." I smile as I watch him leave.

"Bye, cupcake." He shouted over his shoulder.

I look down at my locker and can't remember my combination. My mind is clouded with happiness. I glance back up to look for Leo, and spot him turning the corner, punching his fist in the air to himself. I laugh to myself, before trying to find Haley to help me open my locker.
