"I have nothing to wear." I groaned, flopping down on my bed. Mia was in my room, curling her hair for the party. The rest of the week had flown by, with school and my job at the ice cream shop. I wasn't sure if I was more excited or nervous about the party, but there were definitely butterflies in my stomach. I went to plenty of parties over the summer, but my experience at the last one obviously put a damper on the fun.

"Yes, you do." Mia rolled her eyes, walking over to my closet. She opened the double doors and flipped through my rows of hanging clothes, pulling a few item off of their hangers.

"You better hang those back up." I warned her. I always kept my room pristine, and I wanted it to stay that way. Mia was the opposite, and I always had to help her clean her room when I came over. Whereas my clothes were folded and stacked neatly, she kept hers strewn about the floor.

"I know, I know." Mia dismissed me with a quick flick of her hand. She held up a small pile of clothes. "Try these on. They are all cute."

I followed her instructions, trying on the various items she had selected. The party was at the beach tonight, instead of someone's house. I had been to parties like this before, and they were always more fun. I wanted to savor summer while it lasted, and I'm sure everyone else did too.

I finally settled on casual, ripped denim shorts and a pretty cropped top. I put a black bikini underneath just in case.

"Ta-da!" I spun around in the mirror, waiting for Mia's approval. She pursed her lips for a second before bringing me some strappy sandals to wear.

"You look good, Liv."

"You too, M." I told her honestly. She grinned and turned around, showing off the casual mini dress she was wearing. She also had a strappy bikini underneath so that we could swim.

I heard a car honk outside my house. Mia and I grabbed our phones and some lip gloss before running down the stairs. I pulled open the door to see all three boys leaning against Shawn's Range Rover. They all had on bathing suits, and Jacob was shirtless on top. Shawn and Asher both had open shirts on that revealed peaks of their tan abs when the wind blew.

Holy shit.

"Damn, girls!" Jacob called, making me laugh. He had sunglasses on like Asher, but I could tell his eyes were focused on Mia. She giggled at him, flirting slightly. I taught her well.

Asher pulled off his black sunglasses, looking me up and down. I felt his eyes raking over my exposed body and I blushed slightly, wrapping my arms around myself. Asher noticed the gesture and smirked, putting his sunglasses back on and pushing his hair back. He looked good, that was for sure.

"If you're done eye raping each other, I'm ready to go." Shawn's voice broke my out of my reverie, causing me to jump slightly. Shawn just rolled his eyes, walking over to the driver's side and starting the engine. Jacob and Asher fought slightly over who got to sit shotgun, but Jacob won. I hopped in the backseat, sitting between Mia and Asher.

Jacob plugged his phone into the AUX, playing upbeat party music as we all sung along. Shawn put the sunroof up and I savored the summery breeze, watching the sun set over the horizon. The sky was filled with orange and pink, and the breeze felt nice in my hair. I put my hands up, singing along. For tonight at least, I wanted to be carefree and just have fun.

Asher turned to face me, a tiny smile playing on the corners of his lips. I gave him a questioning glance, but he just smirked and continued starting at me. His eyes were covered my his sunglasses, bit I could feel their presence burning into mine. I finally decided to ignore it, turning to chat with Mia.

The drive was short, and we soon arrived at the beach location where everyone was meeting. It was late enough that all of the families had left, and I'm sure the booming music from the speakers had scared anyone else off. The beach was swarming with teenagers from a few of the schools in the area. There were tables set up for beer pong and other drinking games, and I saw a few coolers filled to the brim with beer and other fruity drinks. A large clump had emerged a bit further down the beach for dancing, and I recognized a few of the classic PDA couples grinding in the middle of the crowd. Some groups had stripped down to their bathing suits and were splashing around in the shallow parts of the water, obviously intoxicated. I recognized some people from my school playing truth or dare in a circle, and I planned to join them later.

The sun drifted lower behind the water, and some guys pulled out torches to keep the light at the party. I watched the slim, crescent moon slowly creep into the sky as I sat by the water in a quieter area. Mia had joined some girls from our school by the ping pong tables, where Jacob was currently shotgunning a beer. I noticed Shawn talking to a beautiful girl, and I smiled when i saw him touch her arm. I had to interrogate him about her later.

I heard footsteps behind me, but I didn't turn around. Asher sat down silently, his leg touching mine. He offered me a fruity beer, which I took gratefully. I popped it open and took a sip, savoring the familiar tingle of the drink on my tongue.

We sat in silence for a few minutes, the water lapping around our toes.

I turned to face Asher, examining his profile as he stared at the waves. His jaw was sharp, accentuating his chiseled face. The breeze lifted up his hair, messing it up slightly. I saw his adam's apple bob up and down slightly as he swallowed and turned to face me.

"Enjoying the view?" He asked me, smirking slightly.

He was obviously cocky, and I decided his ego needed to take a hit. "Why are you still wearing sunglasses, weirdo?" I asked him, laughing. The sun had set a while ago, and it was pitch black now.

"They look cool." He muttered, his cheeks turning slightly pink. I laughed again and plucked the glasses from his face, pushing them back on my head.

"They look better on me, anyway." I teased him, trying to mimic his cocky smirk. I probably failed miserably, but Asher agreed with me anyway.

"You're right. But I'm going to need them back." He said, trying to grab them off my face. I pushed myself off the sand, stepping away a few feet to protect them.

Asher chased after me, laughing. He caught me within second, grabbing the sunglasses.

I thought he was done, but he surprised me by grabbing my waist and throwing me over his shoulder.

"Why don't we go for a swim?" He asked pulling his shirt off with one hand while somehow holding me with the other. I didn't even have time to admire his strong abs before he was walking again, holding me over his shoulder while he walked deeper into the water.

I wacked his back, struggling to get out of his iron grip. "Put me down! Asher! Are you crazy?"

He just laughed, the vibrations reverberating through his shoulders. He came to a stop in the waist deep water, his shoulder muscles clenching.

"Asher! There are sharks. We could die." I tried to reason with him, holding my legs up to protect them from the water.

"I'm still wearing my clothes. I can't get wet." I pleaded with Asher over his laughter.

"You can just take them off. I'm more than fine with that." Asher muttered, a smile in his voice. I smacked him on the back. Horny ass.

"Are you ready?" He asked me, his voice slightly deeper than usual. A big breeze settled over us, making the water seem chillier than usual.

He didn't wait for me to answer. I tried to grip Asher's waist to save me, but it didn't work. He grabbed my waist again, using his bulging muscles to throw me into the water. I felt the cool water slip over me, ruining my curled hair and making my denim shorts stiff and uncomfortable. I slowly rose above the surface, pushing my wet hair out of my face. Asher was a few feet away, grinning widely.

I glared at him before trudging away towards shore. He chuckled and followed, his long strides matching mine easily. He ducked his head under the water, swimming around for a minute before he continued after me.

"I'm sorry, Olivia." I felt his wrist reach out and encircle mine, turning me around to face him. His hair was wet, dripping slowly onto his forehead and down his taut stomach muscles. His teeth gleamed in the night, their pearly whiteness contrasting against the dark sky and water.

His smile grew, distracting me from my drool-session. "Checking me out again, Olivia? I know I'm irresistible and all, but hands to yourself."

I scoffed at him and turned around, trudging away again. I reached the shore, peeling off my soaked clothes. I adjusted my black bikini, making sure it hadn't shifted.

I heard Asher's intake of breath and smirked to myself, reading to give him a taste of his own medicine. I turned to face him, flipping my hair over my shoulder and grinning at him. His eyes raked over my body again. I watched him bite his plump lower lip, pulling it into his mouth slightly. He ran a hand through his wet hair, obviously at a loss for words.

"Olivia..." He murmured, raising his eyes up to meet mine.

I walked towards him and he instinctively put his hands around my waist, pulling me closer. I smirked up at him from between my lashes, putting my hand on his chest. He sucked in another breath and looked down at me, his green eyes storming indecipherably.

"I know I'm irresistible, but hands to yourself" I quoted him, pushing off his chest and walking away. His jaw dropped as I traipsed away up the beach. When I looked over my shoulder, he was still standing by the edge of the water and staring at me. I gave him a little wave, the beer in my veins giving me a slight confidence boost.

I walked over to Mia, who was dancing with Jacob and Shawn. Jacob offered me another drink, and I accepted quickly, gulping down the cool liquid.

"Who's up for some truth or dare?" Jacob asked, gesturing for us to sit down.

I looked at Mia, and we both smiled excitedly.

"I need to drink some more for that." Mia giggled, sitting a few feet away from Jacob. He scooted over subtly so that he was closer to her. She beamed over at me, and I sent her a small thumbs-up.

Shawn arrived with four small cups of colorful jello. "I can help you with that. Shots, anyone?"

We all grabbed one, slurping down the fruity jello. I was glad that the taste wasn't as biting as regular alcohol was.

I sat down next to Mia, and Asher emerged and sat on my other side. He stared at me, but I avoided his eyes. I wasn't worried about awkwardness from our moment by the ocean earlier, but I didn't want to talk about it either.

A few other people that I recognized from school sat down, completing the circle. The party was getting crowded, and more people were joining every second.

Shawn went first, daring Jacob to give everyone a show. Jacob had no shame, standing up in the middle and giving a funny dance for the circle. He slowly took his shirt off, exaggerating the movement, before trying (and failing) to twerk. I was almost in tears by the time it was over, Jacob finished by tossing his shirt to Shawn and blowing him a kiss.

Jacob was up after that, and he dared a girl from the circle to jump in the ocean. She rolled her eyes, stripping down to a bathing suit and running towards the water. When she came back, she asked Mia, who chose truth and had to relive the story of her first kiss to the group. She had only had one, in ninth grade. It had gone awfully, and the whole group cracked up at her dramatic storytelling.

More rounds went by, with a variety of questions asked and crazy dares done. Jacob was fearless, and he and Shawn seemed to be in a competition of who would do the craziest thing. Mia and I cracked up, drinking more beers every round. By the time I was asked again, my mind was definitely hazy.

My friend Bella had joined us a few rounds ago, and it was her turn. "Olivia, truth or dare?" She asked me.

"Dare!" I exclaimed, giggling at nothing. Asher laughed along with me; he had drunk even more than I had. Jacob cheered— he didn't like when we chose truth. It was a "chicken move" in his words.

Bella looked around the circle, thinking about what to dare me. I saw Jacob lean over and whisper something to her, smirking at me. She nodded her head and sat up a little, turning to face me.

"I dare you to kiss Asher."
