When the driver stopped before a huge black gate with huge initials A R in the middle, I was in shock. In fact I think my mouth had touched the car floor when we entered the posh area, its lands occupied by huge mansions. I had started thinking twice about whether it was a good idea to go for the interview in the first place. My choice of clothes, which had served to give me some confidence now seemed to only add to my paranoia.
Two huge guards wearing black from head to toe with wires on the side of their faces came to stand in front of the gate.
One of them walked towards the left side of the gate where a smaller gate was and a buzz was heard, opening the gate. He stepped out and came towards the driver's window.
"Good afternoon. How can we help you?" He asked the driver who had rolled his window down.
Since I was seated at the back, I moved to the space in the middle which was a dumb move on my part since all I had to do was roll down my window to talk to the guard but as you probably guessed, my head wasn't working properly with all the nerves going haywire.
"Hello. Am here for the nanny interview. I was sent this address to my phone and was told to come here by noon." I explained.
"And may I ask who this man is?" He asked.
"My uber driver."I answered.
"Am sorry ma'am but this is where the driver will have to leave you." He explained, his face remaining emotionless. They seemed more like robots and less human.
"Can't he just drop me real quick?" I asked not wanting to take the short walk to the door.
"Am afraid I can't miss. Orders from above."He replied and he seemed that he wouldn't budge anytime soon.
Sighing, I paid the driver his money and got out thanking him.
I walked to the gate the guard used and was buzzed in.
"You'll have to sign in miss." The other robot stopped me, pointing to a visitors book that I had to sign.
"The heck?! Is this really necessary? Its not like am going to see the president or something.. "I complained.
"Right?" I added after a second but none of them gave away the answer. Sighing, I signed myself in.
The guards curtly nodded at me after I was done and pointed me to the direction I needed to take, telling me to follow the road up the hill.
I checked the time on my wrist watch and noted that I had ten more minutes to noon. I smiled, glad that for once in my life I was on time. Oh how wrong I was..

I had been walking for five minutes and I couldn't still see the front entrance of the house.
My mood had swiftly changed from happy to murder pissed in a span of five minutes. I was tired and had already burned all the calories I had gained from breakfast, my feet ached and as if mother nature was against me, the weather had been cold, gloomy and humid, making my mood far worse and my semi neat hair had somehow managed to tangle and shrink from the weather making me groan out loud in frustration. Taking the hairband out of my hair, I let the curls stick out everywhere, having reached the point where I couldn't really give a shit what my bosses thought about my appearance.

I walked for five more minutes before I finally reached the grand entrance. I was too pissed to even take time to gaze at its beauty and went straight to knocking. I was already late anyway and I had to pretend to actually be happy and smile for God knows how long. I couldn't wait to get back home and into my warm bed.

I knocked again, this time using the golden putter on the door and a few seconds later, an old man with grey hair about six feet in height, dressed in a crisp three piece suit opened the door.
"Good afternoon miss, how can I help you?" He asked in a deep Spanish accented voice.
"Hello Sir. Am here for the nanny interview. Please tell me I haven't walked ten minutes for nothing."I told him, my facade already slipping.
He chuckled before he replied, "This is the right place. Please do come in and I'll lead you to where the interviews are being conducted." He replied politely with a smile that brought a twinkle in his grey eyes.
"Oh thank God!" I exclaimed, making him chuckle again.
"You seem exhausted. Can I get you something to drink? " He offered kindly after he had closed the door and was now leading the way to what had brought me there in the first place.
"A bottle of water would be nice."I said and he nodded telling me to stay right where I was and that he was coming right back.
It was then that I noticed we had stopped at the grand hallway that led to the entrance. A double staircase who's tiles practically glowed at how polished they were filled half the foyer. A huge chandelier with diamond drops that cost all my allowance for four years sat in the middle of the ceiling.
Various painting that looked expensive and exquisite though I wasn't an art freak, lined both sides of the wall and went all the way up the stairs. Just as my eyes looked up the stairs, they clashed with two pair of green eyes looking back at me in curiosity.
Two small figures came into view as the owners of the eyes approached the stair railings. A girl who looked to be nine or ten years and a boy who looked to be a year younger stood by the railing, gazing back at me. They were beautiful. And their similar features gave away that they were siblings. They both had tan skin, dark brown hair that looked black when the sun shone on their heads and they both had light green eyes that I found both enticingly beautiful and eerily scary.
I don't know how long we had the staring contest before the nice old man came back.
On hearing the other set of footsteps, the two children retreated back to where they came from and I caught a glimpse of a challenging glare before they disappeared from my sight completely. For a moment I actually thought I had hallucinated them all together.
"Those kids scare you?" The old man asked, his accent making it hard to understand what he said.
"Not at all. Are they the ones I'll be taking care of?" I asked as he gave me a bottle of water and I said a
"Yes. Adorable little angels they are. They can be naughty though.. "He said as he led the way.
We walked into another hallway and walked for what seemed like ten minutes but was merely a few seconds but the awkward silence between me and the old man was the cause of the time lapse.

We finally reached a door and he opened it then gestured for me to enter. Wishing me luck I walked in and he closed the door behind me.
The room looked like a huge corporate office with couches that had already been occupied by fifteen more smartly dressed women. They all turned to look at me when they heard the door close and I suddenly felt all my confidence fade into thin air.
They had all dressed in formal attires, with ninety nine percent of them wearing revealing tops and super short skirts and six inch heels.
Their eyes looked me up and down, most scowling at my attire with disgust while others smirked as if i was no threat to them and that they had already gotten the job.
One woman with brunette hair tied up into a messy bun and was dressed in a light grey trouser suit pairing it with black doll shoes looked at me with a friendly smile and gestured for me to join her on the love seat after moving for me and I instantly liked her.
I went and sat beside her and she instantly began to talk.
"Don't mind them. They are just skunks trying to intimidate you so they have at least a chance at the job." She said lowly just for the two of us in her raspy voice. Her voice sounded like she had a bad flu that caused her voice to sound like that.
"I mean who comes for a nanny interview dressed like that?" I asked scoffing making her snort in laughter.
"Oh they have a reason for dressing like that." She said pushing her glasses up her nose and I got a closer look at her face. She had a slight tan with a few freckles littering the top of her nose and cheeks which made her look adorable. She had a round face with chubby cheeks that made her look like a teenager. She had clear grey eyes that were beautiful and would make you get lost in them the more you looked into them. I noted that despite having dark brunette hair, the roots of her hair were red and so were her eyebrows which gave away that she was a red head and not a brunette. I was tempted to ask her why she had dyed her hair when she had very beautiful red hair. I had always wanted to dye mine red but the last time I dyed my hair I ended up having to shave it all off as my hair kept falling off.

"Why are they dressed like that then?" I asked clearly clueless.
"Cause the guy who's looking for a nanny is smoking hot, young and loaded." She said as if it was common knowledge.
"Oh!That explains it then I guess." I replied.
"Wait, you don't know who am talking about, right?"
I shook my head in answer and her eyes were filled with amusement as she looked at me.
"How do you nor know who your boss will be? Anyway let me fill you in so you can be more prepared.
Alexander Rodriguez... "She said breaking to see if I atleast have a clue who she was reffering to but I was blank.
I wasn't exactly the type of person who knew much about the entertainment industry and high profile celebrity gossip.
"Oh dear. We have a problem. I'll try to summerize it as much as I can. Anyway he's a hotel mogul who also inherited the oil business from his maternal side, since his mother comes from Saudi Arabia. He's super rich like he's on the top five list of richest human on earth and is super young, like thirty. He's wife died a couple of years back so he's been taking care of his kids ever since." She said.
I chuckled cause that wasn't close to a summary but oh well at least I knew what I was getting myself into.
"So why doesn't he have a nanny yet?" I asked.
"He's notorious for firing people whenever he wishes, which scares the shit out of me. And also he just moved to Germany a week ago for business." She replied and I scowled at her reply not liking my would be boss. He sounded like an arrogant jerk and I was hoping we wouldn't cross paths.
"He sounds like a jerk."I voiced out.
"He is. Trust me. But lucky for us he isn't exactly here all the time. In fact I highly doubt he's in there conducting the interviews. Which is funny to us but disappointing for those bimbos." She said laughing lowly as if she had made a joke.
"Am Gina Martinez by the way."She introduced.
"Dhahabu Lanji but people just call me Dee." I said as we shook hands.

We talked some more as more people went into the office and finally she was called in. I wished her all the best to which she smiled confidently at me, winking as she opened the dreaded door.
I liked Gina. She was real and wasn't afraid to voice out her opinions which we had in common. We had even exchanged numbers and promised to stay in touch after the interview.

I sat there, all alone now since I was the last one left and tried to calm my beating heart as I thought happy thoughts while reading a wattpad novel to try and keep my over imaginative mind from going haywire.
After what felt like hours later, Gina walked out with a smile and sat back down beside me, telling me I've been called in next. She gave me a comforting hug and wished me all the best then told me to slay the job interview.
Taking a deep breath that did the opposite of calming my nerves, I opened the door that would eventually change my future.
"Here goes nothing... "I murmured then opened the door with a huge smile.
