Naruto's POV

"Mom, I'm back!" I called. I took off my shoes and ran into living rom. "Mom?" I found her sleeping on the couch as her arm was hanging off the couch with a book in her hand. I smiled at her, then took the book from her hand and placed it on the shelf.

I got a throw blanket from the coffee table and placed it over her before kissing her forehead. A soft breeze blew through the room, making me turn around. A window was open, so I walked over to it and closed.

"Weird. This window wasn't open when I walked in. So, how did it open on its own?" I mumbled. I turned around and gasped when I saw Gaara by her side. "Gaara?! What are you doing here?" I asked, sound a bit defensive.

"I have no quarrel with you, Naruto Uzumaki. I just came here to see my Nanny." He said, looking at Mom. "Oh... Well, you could've just used the front door." I mumbled.

"If my father hadn't fired my Nanny, then she wouldn't have left me all those years ago," He said, quietly. He reached towards her and gently ran his fingers through her hair. "Don't worry, Naruto. I no longer hold a grudge against you," He said, looking at me.

"But... I wish I could understand why she was forced to leave me in the first place. Maybe one day, I'll get my answer."

He took a step away from Mom and disappeared with his sand around him. The moment he left, a brock was thrown through the window. I protectively hugged Mom to shield her from the glass, then ran over to the window.

"Hey, what the hell is your problem?!" I yelled at the kids who were running away. They laughed as they did, making me frown at them. I walked back over to Mom to make sure she was okay as she was waking up. "What was that noise?" She asked as she sat up while rubbing her eyes.

"Are you okay, Mom?" I asked. She removed her hands from her eyes and looked at me. "Naruto? When did you get back?" Mom asked. "Just a few minutes ago." I answered. "Oh," She looked towards the broken window. "What happened to the window?"

"Some rotten kids threw this brick at the window!"

"What? You're not hurt, are you?"

"No, I'm fine."

"Hmm... That's the second time that's happened. I'll have to have a talk with their parents about this. Naruto, could you get the broom and dustpan for me?"

"Yeah, sure."

I obeyed and got them to her. "Thank you." Mom kissed my head, then began sweeping up the broken glass. "Mom, how come this keeps happening?" I asked. "Oh, it's my fault. Most of the villagers are convinced that I'm some kind of devil for adopting you." She explained.

"A devil?" I repeated. "Yes. Because you're the host of the Nine-Tailed Fox, and because I adopted you, they're convinced that I'm a woman with the brain of a devil. Because they despise you, they despise me, too. But it doesn't bother me. To be honest, I couldn't care less of what they think of me. As long as they don't hurt you, that's all that matters to me." Mom explained with a smile.

'With a heart as kind as Mom's, I honestly can't see anyone hating her.' I thought as I watched her sweep up the mess.

Haru's POV

The next day, Naruto went out to hand out -or go on a date, I should say- with Hinata. As for me, I was walking to the house of one of the kids who threw the brick through the window. But when I got there, nobody would answer the door when I knocked, so I left a note about the incident.

I did that for the kids. Im getting the feeling it was the same kids who through the rock through the window the first time, and the during the tomato incident.

As I was walking back, I was suddenly pulled into an alley and pinned against the wall. Before I had a chance to say something, soft lips were pressed against mine. I giggled into the kiss when I saw that it was Kakashi and placed my hands on the sides of his face, kissing him back.

Kakashi had one hand placed on the wall, near my head, and the his other hand was around my waist. We kissed for a minute before breaking away for air. I stared into his eyes, then smiled. "That was an unexpected greeting." I mentioned.

"You think so?" Kakashi asked, in which I giggled at his reply.

"Kakashi!"

Kakashi turned around to be greeted with Might Guy. "I challenge to a race! From this starting point!" He said, pointing at him. "First to get to the top of the Hokage Mountain is the winner! What do you say?"

"Guy, now's really not a good time." Kakashi said. Guy hummed in curiosity before averting his gaze to me. "Well, well! And who's this little lady?" Guy asked. I deadpanned. "Guy, it's me. Haru. Remember? We took Sasuke back to the village together when he was injured?" I said.

"We did?" He asked. "Yes." I confirmed. "Ah, yes! I remember! Haru no Hana! Naruto's mother!" Guy announced. "You didn't have to say it out loud, Guy." I said. I had no idea Guy had a bad memory.

"Nice to see you again. Anyway, Kakashi. What do you say? A little race?" Guy proposed. "No, thanks. Maybe some other time." Kakashi denied. "Hmm.... All right! Another time then!" Guy said before jogging off.

"He's certainly full of energy today. Wonder that the occasion is?" I wondered. "Beats me. You wanna take a walk with me?" Kakashi asked. "Sure, I'd love to." I said. He took my hand and we went on our walk.

As we walked together, we came across Asuma and Kurenai. "Hey, you two." Kurenai greeted. "Yo." Kakashi said as I waved at them. "What this? You guys on a date?" Asuma asked. "Well..." Kakashi trailed off as he scratched the back of his head.

"Kakashi asked me to walk with him, so I obliged." I explained. Kurenai hummed in curiosity before snapping her fingers. "I've got it! You guys are going out!" She said. Kakashi and I both blushed at her comment as we looked away in embarrassment.

"Kakashi, you sly dog." Asuma teased. "We've gotta go!" Kakashi said, quickly. He took my hand and we quickly walked past them. "Have fun on your date, you two!" Kurenai called, making me blush a deep shade of red.

We walked until we were out of sight. "Something tells me it won't be long until a rumor of us gets out." I mentioned. "I don't doubt it," He agreed. "Haru, there's something I wanna show you."

"Okay. Lead the way." I said. We started walking again until we were in the woods. "What are we doing here?" I asked. "This place... This is where we first met." He said. "Where we first met?" I repeated. "I don't understand."

"Don't you remember? It was after I fought Orochimaru. You found me in the woods, wounded. I was rude to you, but you saved me." Kakashi explained. "In the woods?" I asked.

I closed my eyes and concentrated, trying to remember. Yes, I remember helping someone in the woods. That was after Setzoku revived me to carry out my duty.
