"Ugh... Huh?" I slowly opened my eyes to find myself in a hospital room with Naruto asleep by my side. His head rested in his arms while he sat in a chair. I gave a small smile and lifted my hand, gently stroking his hair.

Naruto's eyes opened and lifted his head, looking at me. "Mom...? Mom!" Naruto sat up fully. "Oh my gosh! I can't believe it! You're actually awake! The doctors said, you'd still be unconscious for the next few days!"

"How long have I been unconscious for?" I asked, sitting up. I winced in pain, but proceeded to sit up. "For nearly a week!" Naruto answered. "I see..." I said, softly. "Gaara... What about him? Is he okay? What happened to him?"

"He's gonna be fine. His siblings came by and took him back to his village. Do you remember anything?"

"Um... I remember finding you in the woods, then I heard Gaara yelling. Everything after that... is a total blur."

"Mom... A tree fell on you, nearly crushing you to death. We were just lucky enough to get you here in time. But after the attack... the old man... the Hokage... He's dead, Mom."

My eyes softened in sadness. "Lord Third..." I whispered. I quickly wiped my eyes before the tears could fall and hugged Naruto's head to my chest. "Mom? Are you okay?" Naruto asked, his voice slightly muffled from the hug.

"I'm fine. I'm just happy... that I didn't lose you, too." I said. Naruto hugged me back and a doctor walked in. "Miss Haru, I'm glad to see that you're awake. Tell me, how are you feeling?" He asked. "A little dizzy, and my stomach hurts a bit." I answered.

"I'm not surprised. The state you were in was pretty critical. We were just barely able to revive you." The doctor explained. "So, I've heard," I replied. "How long will I be staying here?"

"Just a few more days. We wanna run some tests to make sure you don't have any internal damage." He answered. "Sounds understandable," I mumbled. "But..." I looked at Naruto, then back at the doctor.

"I'm not sure if I feel comfortable staying here while Naruto is home alone." I said. "Oh, don't worry about that, Mom. Just focus on getting better." Naruto said. "Are you sure?" I asked. "Absolutely! Believe it!" Naruto smiled. I smiled back and kissed his forehead.

"Okay. But as soon as I'm better, I promise we'll do something fun together." I said. "Awesome!" Naruto cheered.

The next day, I was given medicine to ease the pain in my head and stomach. The medicine was strong and made me sleep in times when I didn't want to sleep.

At some times, I'd pretend to take the medicine by hiding the pill under my tongue, then spit it out later just so I'd stay awake for when Naruto came to visit me.

I didn't really eat any of the food I was given because I didn't have that much of an appetite. I wasn't being picky or anything. I just didn't feel like eating.

To pass the time, I usually gazed out the window and watched the clouds float by. As I was doing that, the medicine was taking effect and making me drowsy. Finally, I fell asleep.

I don't know how long I slept for, but I woke up when the nurse brought me my dinner. Her name was Ange and she's the sweetest nurse I've had. "Here's your food, Haru." She said as she set the tray on the table next to me.

"Could you take it back please? I'm not hungry right now." I apologized. "But you haven't eaten all day. You have to eat something, Haru. It's not healthy to starve yourself like this." Ange mentioned.

"I'm sorry to worry you, Ange. I feel so guilty having you go through all this trouble for me." I said, sincerely. "Oh, it's not trouble at all." She smiled.

"Ange."

"Yes?"

"I can't help but notice that you brought in a bouquet of flowers."

"Oh, yes. You see, a man came by earlier today and dropped these off for you."

"A man?"

"Yes. He wanted to give them to you in person, but you were already asleep."

"Are you sure you haven't mistaken this man for a younger boy?"

"I'm sure. In fact, it was from Kakashi Hatake."

"Kakashi?"

I stared off into space, thinking why Kakashi would bring me flowers. Perhaps he's just trying to he nice.

"Haru?" Ange said. "Hmm? Oh, I'm sorry. I must've spaced out." I apologized. "That's okay. I know this isn't any of my business, but are you and Kakashi dating by any chance?" Ange asked.

"Hmm? Of course not. He's only trying to be nice." I said. "I think he's trying to be more than nice," Ange chuckled. "But all joking aside, you should at least try and eat something."

She waved goodbye, then left the room. I looked out the window as the sun was going down. "The sky... is so orange." I whispered.

(Time skip)

A week past and I was feeling much better. I was getting my appetite back and my wounds have healed quite nicely. My doctor said that I could go home tomorrow. "Haru, you have a visitor." Ange informed.

She stepped aside and Kakashi entered the room. "Hello, Kakashi." I greeted. "Hey, Haru. How are you feeling?" He asked. "Much better. Thank you for the flowers. They're quite lovely." I mentioned. "Don't mention it." He replied.

"How's Squad 7 doing, considering after everything that's happened?"

"They're holding up."

I noticed that Kakashi was staring at me a bit strangely. "Is something on your mind, Kakashi? You seem a little troubled." I noticed. Kakashi didn't answer as he stared at me. "Kakashi?" I asked. "Oh, sorry. I was just thinking to myself." He said.

"Oh? What were you thinking about?"

"Well..." Kakashi sighed. "Haru, who are you?"

I giggled at his question. "What kind of silly question is that? I'm Haru no Hana."

"No... I mean, what's your real name?" He said.

"I already told you. It's Haru no Hana." I repeated.

"No, you're not." He said, sternly.

"Huh? What are you talking about? Of course I am. What makes you think I'm not who I say I am?

"Because..." Kakashi trailed off as he averted his gaze from me. "Because what? You can tell me." I said. Kakashi hesitantly returned his gaze to mine, but he had a serious look on his face.

"I'm asking you this because the real Haru no Hana died years ago."
