The first day that the raven-haired male met you, you were just another face that simply filled her role in this retched world. A role so irrelevant that he didn’t even take the time to get to know you better, and for what? In his eyes, you were just another girl, irrelevant to his goals. There was nothing that you could provide to help him in any way. Even after seeing you around, you never really caught his attention. You were just so…Normal, someone that he did not want to get to know. Perhaps if he hadn’t been poisoned with the idea of vengeance, perhaps he could have even considered you a friend. You had those qualities, you cared for others and knew when to get involved and when not to.

His perspective only changed a little after the hospital incident, maybe the others were foolish enough to think that he would not find out about that information. Apparently, you were nor that normal girl that he thought you were but that did not change much. Again, you could not provide him with anything to increase his power, so why even think about it?

However, when he finally left the village, he did not expect to find you at Orochimaru’s Hideout. That was when his interest was spiked, if you had been there and had been taken against your will, that only meant that you were far away from being normal. Although there was the lack of friendship between the two of you, he wasn’t completely poisoned to ignore that he was worried. If he wanted to accomplish power, he needed to cut all ties, even if there wasn’t a clear one, and he did. Or at least tried to, but how could he when he had been given the task of training you?

He had been surprised and shocked at your power, it was truly amazing how your body could heal in such a way? To him, those abilities, among others that you gained, made you truly powerful. Perhaps that was the moment when he had seen you as someone worthy of his interest.  From then on, he had planned your role in his vengeance. You would have been a great addition to his team, but you had refused his proposal. Even if he had threatened you, you would have not followed him.

It was obvious that you despised him by the mere fact that his friends had chosen to ‘save ‘him when he had chosen to leave while you had been taken by force. Of course, you had a reason to hate him, and he did not blame you. You had suffered so much, not only physically but mentally, it was shocking that you did not lose your mind. Maybe at some point, and with all the time that you both shared, he grew attached to you. There had been times when he had caught Goro staring at you, a gaze that he knew too well, one that he had seen on Sakura. When whenever he had caught the male, his blood boiled in anger at the mere thought. He refused to acknowledge that feeling as jealousy.

Then, after Itachi was laying on his feet, did he finally realize his big mistake. All that self-hate that began to rotten his being, was cleansed once he found out that you had saved his brother and had given him another opportunity to fix his mistakes. But that did not end there, after that it was as if he had been struck with the realization. It was then that he decided to be honest with himself, even more so when he found out that he wasn’t the only one interested in you. So, unlike him he made sure to declare of how he truly felt about you. Maybe from the beginning he thought of you to simply restore his clan, but when he opened his eyes, he could clearly see his true feelings. Just remembering the feeling of his lips against yours, even now, sent shivers down his spine. That simple action was one of the hardest things that he ever did but it was so worth it.

Then, that time when you disappeared and then appeared in front of him, he had felt elated of the idea that you came to him. However, even if he did not show it, he had been wounded when you had only used him. After he found out that it was not truly you who had used him without hesitation, he felt alive once more.

Now that you, once again, left close to no trace, he knew that he could not just wait until you decided to come back. If he did that, then he might as well forget about you because you would not return. So, without wasting any more time, and even if wounded, he decided to gather some of his things to prepare for his travel. Although his brother was not home, the idea of leaving a note crossed his mind but Itachi would understand.

He exited his home and headed to the exit, ready to leave, but just like when he first left the village, he was stopped. “You’re leaving again.”

The first time, it affected him having to see one of his friend leaving, but now, he did not feel as guilty as before. Maybe it was because now he really had a meaningful goal, one that would change his entire future and for the greater good. “Yes, I have to do this.”

The once girl and now woman glanced at the ground, he could see that her hands had formed fists. “Am I not good enough?”

So, naïve. “When will you realize that there can never anything other friendship between the two of us?” Rather harshly, the male responded but he wasn’t lying.

Tears began to trail down her cheeks refusing to look at him. “But with her you can?”

There was a time of silence before he responded. With you? Definitely. “Yes.” A simple and short answer yet enough to respond any more of her questions.

“Why?” Finally, she finally raised her gaze to look at his calm expression. “You didn’t even know her.” It was silent and yet loud enough for him to realize her desperation.

He didn’t know you? A hint of irritation possessed his being for a minute. “I knew her better than any of you and she knew me better than you.” He had been there with you, he helped train you. Maybe he did not know you as much as Kabuto or even Goro, but he knew you enough to make him finalize that he would not stop his search until he found you.

Sakura believed that he knew him, but did she really? When she was a little girl, all she cared about was like him because others did. That was why she ‘loved’ him, and even after he left she still ‘loved’ him but she knew nothing about him. He had spent years away from him, she knew nothing of him. You did, you came to hate him but then that hate turned to friendship. You were there to see him struggle as he made his way to get stronger, you saw him struggle. You had been there and never judged him, never questioned his goals. They did.

A pained expression crossed her eyes, and she proceeded to clean her tears and s saddened smile tugged at her lips. “I see,” she began, “she must really mean a lot to you. I will not stop you, go and find her, I really hope that you both can be happy.”

With a simple nod, the male turned around and stepped out of the village. He was ready, and the search may not be easy but he won’t stop until he finds you. For once he has something great in his hands and he won’t give up that easily. Maybe you won’t feel that same way the he does feel towards you but he is willing to do anything to change that. Because never in his life did he ever realize that he would love someone as he loves you.
