Hailey's POV

I woke up to my front doorbell ringing like crazy. I got up from my couch to go check who it could be, when I seen my best friend at the door, on the inside of the door. She was grabbing two large pizza boxes and a small third one from a delivery boy, thanking him as she closed the door behind her.ย

"Morning, Hail bear," she smiles, walking passed me towards the kitchen table, setting the boxes down. "Are you hungry? I ordered pizza and wings." I didn't answer her, I stayed standing in my spot, staring at my best friend, a little hazy from my sleep still. "What? What's wrong?" She frowned.

I shake my head,"h- how'd you get here Carmen? When did you get here?"

"You eating or not?" She asked, reaching for some plates from the dish rack. I nod and make my way to the table. Carmen walks back over and hands me a plate. "Your boyfriend called me," she stated, opening up one of the pizza boxes. "He told me what happened and didn't want you staying home alone."

"But I'm always alone," I mumble.

She shrugs her shoulders, "he told me to come over, so I came, and I got pizza," she smiled. Carmen grabs a pizza slice and places it on her plate. It's her favorite. Pepperoni, spinach and olives. She opens up the smaller box and I noticed that there's two types of wings inside the box. "I got honey BBQ for you, and Buffalo for me," she smiles again.

"How did you pay for all of this Carmen? I'm sure my dad only left me like twenty bucks."

She grabs her plate and sits down to my left, on my father's chair. "Oh I didn't use your dads money, I used your boyfriends."

"Isaac's?" I clench my eyebrows together.

"Mhm," she takes a small bite from one of her wings. "Eat!" She exclaims, taking another bite. "He left like 60$, oh and he wants you to call him by the way."

I reach for the other pizza box, the one that hasn't been opened yet, and my hearts literally happy. It's pineapple and sausage, my favorite. I smile at Carmen and reach for a slice, "thank you," I tell her.

She gets up from the table and walks over to my fridge, grabbing two cans of Dr. Pepper, "not me, your boo," she smiles, sitting back down and slides a can to me.

"I can't believe he did that, what did he say?"

"Not much," Carmen continues to chew on her food, then takes a drink from her soda. I reach for the box of wings, placing some on my plate. "He asked if we were still gonna go out and if we wanted to borrow his car to get around." He did? "I told him no, that i would most likely just order in, that way we can just relax and he gave me some money." I sigh deeply looking down at my food. "What?" Carmen frowns.

"I wish he would stop wasting money on me, he spent over 400$ yesterday."

Carmen nearly starts chocking on the piece of pizza she was working on, I softly laugh at her and ask if she's alright. She nods, "400$ is a lot of money, Hail bear."

"I know!" I exclaim.

"You never told me what happened, how'd it go? What did you guys do? Where did he take you? You were suppose to come home last night missy!"

I smile at Carmen, chewing on the rest of my wing, "I know I'm sorry," I pout. "We went into the city to have dinner and do a little exploring."

"Please just tell me that you didn't do anything you're gonna regret later."

"I won't regret it," i smile softly. I got a little nervous about telling Carmen what happened with Isaac this morning, but she was my best friend after all, I told Carmen everything, and this was something I couldn't keep to myself, I was dying to tell her.

"Wait, wha-" she shakes her head side to side. "Please tell me that you're kidding, Hail? You didn't.." I shrug my shoulders and smile sheeplessly. "Oh. My. God. Hailey. Please tell me you're joking."

Suddenly I wasn't feeling so confident in telling her, I was actually starting to feel quite the opposite, starting to regret opening my mouth. "I'm not," I murmur.

"W-when? Last night?" Carmen then starts mumbling in Spanish. "He took advantage of you, mami.. I'm gonna fรผcking kill him!"

I immediately start shaking my head, "no! He didn't, Car! It was this morning, when I was fully sober. He didn't even want to, i basically had to convince him to do it."

"You?" She scoffed, arching an eyebrow. "My sweet little Hail bear, had to convince the mobster's son, to sleep with her?"

I nod, smiling bashfully. "I didn't rape him or anything," I chuckled. "He.. was just really careful about the whole thing." I rolled my eyes, "I don't know how many times he asked me if I was sure."

Carmen throws a small smile my way, "he does seem like he's head over heels for you, Hail."

I smile down at my food in front of me, "and I for him." I look up at Carmen softly shaking my head, "I know that we're still getting to know each other, but Car I really like him, like really really like him. I think he could be my one. Isaac makes my anxiety spike up like crazy, but he's also does the opposite. He makes me feel calm and alive all at the same time, like I'm actually normal, like I belong. Like there's nothing wrong with me. Like I don't need to worry about everything, I don't need to overthink everything like I usually do. He makes me want to come out of my comfort zone."

Carmen has her elbow rested on the table, her face in her hand, holding her up against the table. She stays quiet, grinning at me. "What?" I chuckle, taking a bite of my pizza.

"You're falling in love, Hailey Katherine."

I scoff, "I am not."

"And now you're in denial," she rolls her eyes playfully. She makes a hmph little sound. "Who would ever thought a guy like Isaac Matteo would be the one to make you this happy," she smiles. "It warms my heart to see this side of you, mami, to see you grow into the person you've always wanted to be, but it also scares me. We both know where Isaac comes from, what kind of life he lives, Hail, it's not all gonna be sunshine and rainbows, are you really ready for that?"

"You know, that's the thing that I was most afraid of, Car, but he doesn't show me that side of him. The mobster that everyone's scared of. He's just Isaac when we're together. He's just being him. He's funny, always trying to make me laugh. He's caring, sweet, a total gentlemen."

"I'm happy for you, Hail bear, I really am, and I wish you the best, I'm gonna be here for you regardless, but that is who Isaac is. He's Carmelo's son, he's part of the mafia world whether we like it or not mami. I'm not trying to rain on your parade or anything, but you're a part of his world now, he's bound to slip eventually and you're gonna see him for who he really is."

I smile softly at my best friend, "I already do. That doesn't define who Isaac really is inside. He's a lot more sensitive than he'll ever admit, but he hates what people paint him out to be. The mobster's son.. it was my biggest mistake to begin with, because if I would've chose to believe everything I've heard about him, I sure as hell wouldn't be here with him right now. I know things are bound to get ugly eventually, and I don't know how I'm gonna react, but for now I'm just gonna take it day by day."

Carmen smiles, softly shaking her head. "I am so proud of you. Did you hear what you just said? The old Hailey would've never done, nor said anything like that.. You're slowly changing." She continues to smile.

My eyes immediately glister with tears, "I know, it's a scary feeling," I say with a shaky breath.

Carmen hops off of her chair and walks over to me, wrapping her tan arms around me, "no don't cry, Hail bear, this is a good thing. It's gonna be over whelming at times cause you're not use to it, but you'll be fine mami."

I hug my best friend back, "do- do you think I'm stupid, for doing what I did?" I cry into her chest.

"What?" She pulls apart for a second, then hugs me even tighter. "No of course not, mami! Sure I wish you would've waited a little longer, but I don't think you're stupid, babe. We can swamp sex stories now!!"

"Carmen.." I groan while laughing.

"What?" She giggles and pulls back. "I need to know if Isaac's as much of a freak like they say he is!" I slightly frown at this. I really didn't need to hear about Isaac's past sex stories. "Was it good? Did you enjoy it?" She asked. "Did he make you cum?"

"Ugh, Carmen! Language!!" I shove her off of me.

"What?" She laughs, going back to her seat. "Stop acting like such a virgin still!"ย

"Can you not use that word please! It's so... so vulgar."

Carmen continues to laugh while rolling her eyes, "fine, fine. Did he please your every need? Is that better?"

"You're impossible," I scoff.

"Come on, Hailey! My little girl's a woman now, I need details!"

"Ew, no!"

"Please!!! Give me something, anything!"

"Oh my god, you're so annoying!!" I groan,ย  Carmen and I giggle. "It was good, like really good, better than I would've expected actually. I was so nervous."

"Well of course! It was your first time! Remember how nervous I told you I was when I lost mine?" I nod. "It'll get easier," she says. "You'll grow more confident with each time that it happens, and pretty soon you'll be the one calling the shots." She winks and I snort softly.

"Speaking of shots, guess who I hooked up with last night at the party," Carmen grins.

"Oh god, who?"

"That little hottie that you tutored in the library, what was his name.."

"Ric?!" I blurted out. "You hooked up with Patrick?!"

"There you go," she snaps her fingers, giggling. "I knew it was short for something! He's a really good kisser you know," she grins.

I place my head in my hand, shaking it softly, "gosh, not you too." I sighed. "I guess Angela really was right."

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"Remember that girl I told you about? The one I've been hanging around with at school, Madison?" Carmen nods. "She slept with Ric last weekend too."

Carmen immediately furrows her eyebrows, "I didn't sleep with Ric, Hail, we just made out, a lot." She giggles. "He's gonna have to work a lot harder than that if he wants to get into these pants. I'm not that easy." She smirks.

"Shut up, Carmen, you're not easy."

"I know," she quips. "I'm fun," she winks, her own little definition of tease. Carmen and I both break out into a small fit of laughter. "Hey, we should go watch that new scary movie that just came out, since we didn't go out to eat."

"Yeah," I smile. "Why don't you look up the times, Ima call Isaac real quick, let him know that I'm finally up."

"Oooo invite him and tell him to bring Ric!"

"Oh my God, Car, did I not just finish telling you that Ric is not boyfriend material!"

Carmen grins, "who says I'm looking for a boyfriend.. a girl just wants to have a little fun," she winks.

I chuckle and walk away from the dinning room area and head up to my room to finally get out of this damn dress. I dialed Isaac's number while I was making my way into my bedroom, it immediately went to voicemail so I tried a second time, but just like the first it went straight to voicemail. I sighed and threw my phone onto my bed as I walked over to my dresser. I pulled out a pair of black ripped skinny jeans and put them on under my dress, then took off the damn thing and reached for my black spaghetti strap that was laying on my dresser.

The shirt must have shrunk in the dryer because it was exposing a good inch or inch and a half of my skin, and no matter how much I tugged on it, it wouldn't budge. I let out a small frustrated sigh and decided that I would just throw a hoodie over it, when I realized both of my two favorite hoodies were dirty, and reached for my olive green jacket in my closet instead. After I was fully dressed and comfortable, I threw my chucks on, grabbed my phone and went back down stairs. I tried calling Isaac one more time, but just like the other two calls it went back to the voicemail. His phone was either dead, like always, or he had turned it off because he was probably doing some important and didn't want to get interrupted, either way I left a message this time.

"Uh, it's me," I giggled. "Hi." God I was so pathetic. "I don't know if you're busy doing something, or if your phones dead, again," I chuckled. "Carmen said that you wanted me to call you, so I'm just checking in. Uh, we're probably gonna head out to movies in a bit, so text me when you hear this message. I miss you. Yeah.. k, bye."
