Something weird happened after Isaac kissed me. It's like every little emotion, and worry that I felt about him suddenly evaporated into thin air. I still knew that he had a short temper. I still knew that Isaac was a dangerous guy. I knew where he came from, but I somehow knew that he wouldn't hurt me. I no longer felt so uncomfortable around him. I still felt shy, but it was a more bubbly girly shy, rather than an unpleasant one.

Isaac didn't kiss me again after that, we didn't have a total make out session at McDonald's if that's what you're thinking. He actually scooted back some and we just talked. We stayed at the restaurant for about forty more minutes talking, mostly about me. Isaac didn't really open up about much, then again I think he was afraid to. He said that he would only tell me the things that I needed to know, he didn't want to ruin the progress he had just done, he didn't want to scare me away.

He told me about his friendship with Angela, apparently the two go way back, and the same goes for his buddy Dion. I had just figured that Dion was some type of body guard because he literally looked like his bodyguard, he was always around Isaac. Apparently Isaac, Angela, and Dion all use to live next door to each other, up until Isaac's father felt like they needed a bigger house and moved into a gated community. I don't see why a family of three would want such a huge house.

Isaac had basically gave me the run on the few basic things that he felt like I needed to know, but there was so much more to him that I wanted to know, but I knew that it was to soon for all of that. I knew that he wasn't ready to tell me, and I exactly wasn't ready to know that side of him either. I told him about Carmen just like he had told me about his two best friends. I was actually pretty surprised when Isaac had mentioned that he remembered having Carmen for a class freshman year. Apparently he had a friend named Frankie who had a major crush on Carmen, but he never actually grew a pair and asked her out.

He asked about my family and what they were like, so I told him how it was only my dad and I because Caleb was away at school, and how my mother was no longer with us, but I didn't really get into details about what had happened. I felt his mood instantly change, and I almost regretted talking about my mom. I didn't want him to get serious on me now, I was loving every bit of conversation we were having.

"So is it your actual birthday today?" I ask him trying to liven up the mood again. "Angela never said what day it actually was, just that your birthday was this weekend."

He shakes his head, "it's tomorrow, but my dad already has this whole thing planned out with the family. I guess that's why Ang and Dion decided to throw their party today. I specifically told them that I didn't want to do anything this year, and what do they do? They throw a fucking party." He says sarcastically and I laugh softly. "One good thing came out of it though.."

"Yeah? And what's that?" I smile, genuinely curious.

He leans his face closer into mine and I think he's gonna kiss me again, but he doesn't. "If they didn't go against what I said, Ang would've never invited you and you would've never of showed up. We wouldn't be sitting here right now." I smile looking up into those dark intense eyes and nod. It's all I can thinking of doing besides kissing him, but then I start to doubt myself so I chicken out. Isaac chuckles along with me when he brings his right arm in front of him, staring at the black Rolex on his wrist. He groans quietly to himself, "although I really don't want to, I should probably get you home before it gets too late."

"Okay," I say softly and start picking up my mess, tossing it onto the food tray. Isaac does the same and see's that there's a nugget left inside of the little box and plops it into his mouth. I giggle at him and he winks at me while standing up, picking up the tray with him. I get out of the booth after him grabbing my bag, and follow closely behind him. He tosses the trash and left over fries, setting the tray on top of the bins and holds the door open for me. I walk passed him softly thanking him, and he walks besides me opening the passenger door for me.

"Such a gentleman," I tell him in a playful tone of voice as I make my way into the BMW. Isaac lets out a breathy laugh through his nose and gently shuts the door after me. I give Isaac my address and he inputs it into his GPS and we take off. It's a total of fifteen to ten minutes to my house from where were at, and the first five minutes of the drive is pretty quiet but my thoughts are pretty loud in my head.

I glance to my left, carefully watching Isaac drive and lip sync to the song that's currently playing. He looked so handsome tonight, I loved seeing him so relaxed and not so tense. I see a small smile start to form on his face, and he gently squeezes my hand. "What?"

"It's nothing." I smile. He gives me a particular look that says 'yeah, okay'. "You said I could ask you anything and you would answer, right?"

He chuckles, "I did."

"K, You don't have to answer if you don't want to," I tell him, "I'm just curious is all."

"Hailey, just ask."

"Sophomore year, with Mario Bianchi.."

I notice that Isaac immediately tenses up at the name, and Im suddenly regretting this. I really don't want to upset him. "What about him?" He asks softly but I notice the sudden change in his voice.

I pull my hand away from his softly shaking my head, "not him, you. You never came back to school that year, why? Did you get expelled or something?"

Isaac scoffs loudly, "ha, me? Expelled? Funny, Hail." My heart instantly flutters at the nickname. "I was expecting a slightly different question, anything else really, not that." I look down at the floor mat and he continues, "but no, I didn't get expelled. My dad actually pulled me out of school as a punishment I guess."

"A punishment?" I whisper looking back at him.

"Mhm, he was fucking livid with what I had done." He scoffs again, "he said that if I wanted to act like a fücking hooligan, he was gonna treat me like a fücking hooligan. Mind you, my dads a real family guy he's never once laid a hand on my ma or myself, but that evening- he beat the living shit out of me that I landed in the hospital.. I was in so much pain that night, that it hurt to even fücking breathe. My mom cried, and cried, and cried, I didn't know what to do to make her stop. She didn't know what to do to make him stop." He pauses and I reach for his hand, and he gently grips it, "turns out that I had two fractured ribs."

"Oh my God, Isaac."

He brings my hand up to his lips placing a kiss on it, "it's fine, I'm fine." He places it back down on his lap and continues, "I was a minor at the time so the cops had to get involved. I wasn't about to snitch out my own dad though, I told them that I had got jumped by some guys with ski masks over their faces. They obviously bought it because of who I am, and how many enemies my pops actually has. I couldn't really move much without being in pain so my dad pulled me the next day, and I got homeschooled for the rest of the year. It was the grounding of the life time. I wasn't allowed to go anywhere, I wasn't allowed to talk to anyone, no one was allowed to come over, nothing."

Isaac chuckles as he makes a left turn at a light, "my dad had took my phone away so I couldn't talk to anyone, and Angela at one point thought that I had got locked up. Dee had brought her over a few days later because she would not stop crying and blaming herself for what had happened. Pops had actually let her come in to see that I was alive, but after that it was back to isolation. They're the only two, besides my mother that actually know what happened."

And now so did I. I stared at Isaac completely horrified with what he had just told me. I was sadden, how could someone do that to their own child, beat them to an extent of actually physically hurting them. I squeeze Isaac's hand and tell him, "thank you." He tilts his head to the side, not really having a clue as to why I was thanking him. "For telling me," I explain. I pull his hand closer to me, "for trusting me."

He squeezes my hand in return, "you asked, and I answered. I had no reason to lie to you, Hailey, I'll tell you anything you want to know." Anything? "We're here," he says shutting his engine off.

I turn to look out the window and sure enough there's my house. It's completely dark, all the lights are off expect for the one on the porch, my dads probably upstairs in bed by now. The drive home seemed all too short, I actually wish I lived further away so I could spend just a little more time with Isaac, but he was right, it was getting pretty late. I hear Isaac undo his seatbelt and climb out of his luxurious car.

I undo my seatbelt just like he did and open the door, quickly stepping out of the BMW. Isaac's walking around the side of the car when I'm fully out, "you don't have to walk me to the door, Isaac." I say in a rush manner.

He grabs my left hand pulling me towards him, and with his right he shuts the passenger door behind me. "Your dad?"

"Yeah," I nod.

"He's gonna hate me isn't he?"

"Most likely," I tease him and he chuckles. "What time is it?"

Isaac lets go of my hand and fishes his silver iPhone out of his pocket, "12:28."

"It's passed midnight," I smile. "It's your birthday.."

"Well look at that, it is.." he smiles in return.

I take a step closer to him and wrap my arms around his lower back, hugging him. "Happy birthday, KP."

I feel Isaac's deep laugh rumble through his chest as I continue to hug him, he wraps his arms around me embracing me back, "thanks, beautiful." His voice is soft.

I pull away a bit looking up at him, my arms still wrapped around him. "I wish I would've got you something, even if it was something small."

He chuckles softly pulling me back closer to him. Isaac places a hand at the back of my head, laying it against his chest. "I don't need you to get me anything, Summers. Im more than fine with just your company." He smirks and my insides melt.

Something about the way Isaac looked under the moonlight was irresistible, those lips were irresistible.. I decided that I wasn't going to be that pathetic little girl and wait for him to kiss me again. Before I could talk myself out of this again I looked Isaac in the eyes and leaned my body closer into him, locking my lips onto his. I had intended for the kiss to be quick and small, but it only seem to grow as Isaac ran his hands down my back and pulled me in closer to him. I get a good whiff of his expensive cologne and it smells absolutely amazing. He felt absolutely amazing. This felt amazing. Isaac's lips were so soft that I began to wonder if they were naturally soft, or if he took care of them by using chap stick or something. Weird, I know.

Afar from the kiss at McDonald's earlier, this was only my second one in all of my 17 years, but hey I must be doing something right since Isaac is kissing me back. It some how feels natural, like I know what I'm doing. That same warm feeling from earlier is back, but it's intensified. I bring my arms up and wrap them around Isaac's neck as the kiss grows more and more intense than the first one. Isaac ends up pushing me back so that we're now leaning against the side of his car. We stand there for a couple more minutes, kissing.

I, Hailey Summers, was totally making out with the mob bosses son right outside of my house.

I break away from our kiss but keep my arms wrapped around him, "that should count as something small, right?" I smile.

He chuckles and nods while grinning and locks our lips once more, but it's only a quick peck this time. "I'm glad that you decided to come out tonight, Hailey."

"Me too," I say with a smile. "I should probably get going, my dad could be watching."

"Okay," he gives me one last kiss and lets go of me. "I'll text you when I get home?"

I nod, "don't you need my number?"

"Nah," he says smiling. "I still have the paper that you were gonna give to Ric."

He kept it?

"Oh," I smile a bit embarrassed, remembering how upset Isaac was with Patrick that day. "I had only gave it to him incase he got stuck on his math homework," I tell him, trying to explain myself.

"Mhm," he says while smiling, "go before I change my mind and keep you out here all night."

I giggle, "okay." I give Isaac one last kiss, "text me when you get home."

"I will," he tells me and I start walking up my driveway. I turn back around when I'm standing at my front door and see that Isaac is now sitting in his driver seat with the passenger window down. I wave bye signaling to him that it's okay for him to leave now. I see him laugh and shake his head from where I'm standing and then starts his car. He makes a Uturn and i step into my dark home when I see him begin to drive away.

I notice my dad at the bottom of the stairs when I turn on the small lamp in the living room. "Dad.. You're still up, hi."

"You just getting in?" My dad asks as he continues his way into the kitchen.

"Yeah," I tell him walking into the open kitchen as well.

He reaches for a glass from the dish rack and makes his way over to our fridge filling his cup up with some ice and water from the ice maker. "So how was it?" He asks before taking a drink of his water.

"A little nerve racking," I confess. "But I had fun."

"Was that your friend Madison who dropped you off?"

I immediately get an unsettling feeling, was he watching? Did he see me kiss Isaac? "N-no," I say softly as my dad walks over to the kitchen switches and turns off the lights. "It was a different friend." I tell him making my way to the staircase.

He nods, "your friend has a nice car," he adds, turning off the lamp the I had turned on. He didn't see, thank God!

"Yeah," I sigh, moving up the stairs. "He does."

"He?" I hear my dad question behind me. He makes it to the top of the floor as I walk towards my bedroom. "As in a boy drove you home?.. Alone?.. In his car?"

"Dad.." I groan, turning around at my doorway, sending an all to familiar stare at my father.

"I know, I know," he says. "being overprotective, I'm sorry."

I nod while smiling, "night dad."
