Julius's POV

As much as I didn't want to leave Vera I was eager to get back to work.

I was finally given the go ahead to go back and I was happy I could catch up on the investigation.
Aldonis had sent the footage from that day to my laptop and it was left for me to take a look at it.

I logged into my laptop and opened the video.
I searched for the footage from the hallway camera.

I watched as Vera walked into her room and was soon followed my someone in a black hood.
I adjusted on my seat and stared discreetly at the screen.

Few moments later the person in the black hood rushed out of the room and locked the door from the outside.
He had a bottle of liquid in his hand and he poured it all over the hallway. Lighting a match he threw it and the whole place was engulfed in flames.

Before he ran away I got a glimpse of his face and it made the vein on my head pop

"Lionel"
I spoke when he answered

"Yes boss"

"Go to Cyrus's office and detain him. Go with your men and deploy force if he resists.
When he is in your custody take him to our cell and wait there "

"Okay boss"

I put down the phone and stared at the picture of Vera I had gotten from her mother.
Her smile warmed my heart but it wasn't enough to subside the betrayal and anger I had in me for Cyrus.

'He could have taken my Vera away from me and for that he will die a painful and slow death'
I smiled devilishly and set out for our chambers.

"Boss"

The guards at the entrance bowed as I entered the building.

I put my hand on the scan and walked in once the doors slide open.
I walked through the metal hallway and in to the elevator.

I pushed the last floor button and began my descent down 6 feet

When the doors opened the scent of iron, blood and what I could only assume was the smell of dead bodies filled my nostrils and I felt the bile rise in my throat.

I walked over to the chamber that Lionel stood in front of

"Boss"
He took a curt nod

"Is he inside? "

"Yes boss.
He's tied up and we have done what you asked of us"

I walked in as Lionel opened the metal door for me and the smell of more blood filled my nostrils.

I walked into the dark room, my eyes we're trained on the person who sat slouched, tied to a wooden chair in front of me.

I took a chair and sat in front of him .
Using the dagger I was given I tilted his face up to see various cuts and bruises as blood , other body fluids stained his face.

"You really thought you would get away with this didn't you? "
I laughed sadistically

"You think she is safe?
Then you are a bigger fool than I thought.

Our men will get and kill her and you won't be able to do a thing"

He laughed through his swollen lips and my blood boiled.
I punched him across his face with a knuckle buster,knocking out a few teeth.

"You still have the guts to speak.

I'll give you a chance to talk
Now tell me

Who are you working for Cyrus? "

"Go suck your dick.
I'm never telling you a thing"

"I'll give you two seconds

We can either do this the easy way or the hard way.

Cyrus you know how these things work.

Don't make things hard for yourself"

"She's your weakness and you know as your weakness she won't survive.

She'll be your downfall and everyone knows this.
Even if I or my men don't kill her your other rivals will"

He laughed and I plunged the dagger in to his thigh as his screams echoed all through the cells.

"To you or whoever comes for my Vera I will cut off your balls and feed them to you

That mission will be their last and that I promise you.

Torture him" I spoke to Lionel as I stood walking out.

His ear splitting screams came through the cells as the elevator doors closed.

I was looking forward to seeing Vera.
I wanted to hold her in my arms and protect her from any and everyone that wanted to harm her.

I wanted to wake up to her beautiful face every single morning and see that crimson colour that covered her cheeks anytime she was embraced.

It was 8:00 when I left the office for home.
I greeted Carol goodnight before I left the building

"Speak"

I spoke holding the phone to my ear

"There was an accident sir.
You need to come home

It's Vera"
