Empty threats are for dreamers. And i fancy myself a realist...

Catalaiya's pov:

Since that day, everything changed. Aziel was home more often and he would join us every day for breakfast and dinner. He even talked to me a couple of times mainly to say good morning, good night and to ask whether i'll be working from home or going to the office.

I also noticed that he was more comfortable swimming in the pool with me sitting on the chair as I paint.

And yes, I did paint. I didn't gawk at him.

Right now I was in my office, reading the last mail of the day. It was already 5:30 pm and Alfred would be here by 6 pm to pick me up. There was a knock on my door and before I could say come in, Nayvee rushed in.

"Mason!" She said breathing hard. Looking at her breathing hard, I knew she ran up here.

The whole week Mason didn't come to the office instead he send bouquets of daisies at the office. It was like 2 bouquets daily and I didn't keep any of them. I asked my employees if they wanted it and they alternatively took one... either to give it to their girlfriend/boyfriend or their moms.

I sighed tiredly, "Where?"

"On the main floor." She replied more calmly.

"Let's go, I need to talk to him," I say and she looked at me unsure.

"Are you sure? He looks like he took four energy drinks at once." She stated.

"I'll eventually have to talk to him. He can't keep doing this." I said as I stood up. I walked to the door, with her following me.

"Why don't you call your husband? I'm scared that Mason will do something to you." Nayvee admitted.

"He won't. There are so many people here plus the security guys would be there too."

We stepped inside the elevator and press the main floor button. A few seconds later the door opened and I was met with a crowd of employees. They made a way in the middle and I was able to see Mason.

He smirked widely as his eyes landed on me.

"Finally!" He says before glaring at the security guys who were holding him. They looked at me and I gave them a nod. They let him go but stayed behind him.

"I'm so glad to see you. These people weren't letting me go inside." He says as he took a few steps forward.

"Yes because they are doing their jobs," I said firmly.

"What jobs? I just wanna see you." He pointed out.

I crossed my arms on my chest, "Why exactly?"

"Can't we talk in private? I don't want other people to hear what I want to say." He asked pointing at the people around us.

"Well if you hadn't created such a scene these people wouldn't be out here looking at you," I stated.

He ignored what I said and continued, "Did you like the flowers I sent?"

"My mom liked them." I heard one of my employees say from the crowd making everyone snicker.

I watched as his smiley face turned into a cold stare. He clenched his jaw, glaring through the crowd.

"What does that mean?" He asked, shifting his eyes on me.

"Why would I keep those flowers?" I asked him.

"Because I sent them!"

"Again, why? The contract we had is invalid now. You have nothing to do here, so why are you wasting your time?" I asked.

He took a few steps forward menacingly.

"It's still valid and I will fucking show you." He stated.

"Go on." The unmistakable deep voice of Aziel echoed through the room. I shift my gaze to the door and there he was standing with an emotionless, cold expression on his face. He was wearing a greyish suit and he looked intimidating right now. One of his hands was buried in his pocket.

I looked at Nayvee and she frantically shook her head no as if telling me that she didn't call Aziel. I know she didn't... she doesn't have his number, even I don't have his number.

Mason chuckled sarcastically, "So you call him for backup?"

Aziel walked closer and stood a few inches away from Mason. Aziel was bigger and taller than Mason, making it easy for him to tower over him.

"I'm giving you only 5 minutes to get out of here alive. If you're still here after those 5 minutes, I can't promise you'll walk out of here." Aziel stated dangerously low.

Everyone stayed quiet, looking at these two. Mason, who was fierce a few seconds ago look like he was ready to get out of here while Aziel remained calm.

"And if I ever see you here or hear from anyone that you came anywhere close to her... just don't forget that I know everything about you and I can easily find you." He added firmly.

My eyes widened slightly.

He just openly threatened him in front of all these people...

Mason glared at him before storming outside. The security guys nodded at Aziel before going back to their work. The people around us started to whisper but that didn't seem to affect him. He walked toward me.

"Hi, I'm Nayvee." Nayvee introduced herself before he spoke. Aziel gave her an acknowledging nod.

He looked at me, "Alfred won't come, so I'll give you a ride home."

"I need to get my stuff from my office," I told him.

"I'll wait here," he says and I nodded.

I turned around and I made my way to the elevator, with Nayvee following me. Once the door closed, Nayvee squealed.

"That was so fucking romantic." She says making me roll my eyes.

"And he's hot." She added.

I know

The door opened and I made my way to my office. I packed all my stuff, grabbed my phone, grabbed my handbag before walking back to the elevator.

On my way, I waved goodbye to Nayvee.

When I walked to the main floor, Aziel was talking on his phone. I slowly made my way to him and stood a few meters away. A few seconds later, he ended the call.

"Let's go."
