A lie can hide the truth but it can't change the truth...

Aziel's pov:

Leo walked closer to his wife and put his hand on her lower back. I could see the fear in his eyes as he stood beside his family.

"Aziel," he gave me an acknowledging nod.

I guessed his wife didn't know who we were as her eyes widened at the sound of my name. She wasn't at the wedding office, so she didn't see me but I'm sure she heard about me.

"W-would you like to drink anything?" The wife asked us.

"No, we'll be quick." Adam politely denied it.

"How can I help you?" Leo asked cautiously.

"I want to know the reason why you came to me to marry your sister," I said straight forward.

Both the wife and Leo glanced at each other.

"Ok, I'll be right back." He excused himself briefly. The baby started to make some noises and the wife smiled down at her.

"Here," Leo said as he walked into the living room. He handed Carter a file and Carter opened it.

"That's a will..." Carter said confused.

"Yes, read the last paragraph," Leo said and Carter did. As his eyes read the lines, he furrowed his eyebrows.

"That makes no sense, she's alive," Carter said looking at Leo.

Leo nodded, "It was Mason's idea to marry her and kill her for her property. This file was sent by mistake at our office and thankfully I got a hand on it before the arranged marriage."

What?

I took the file from Carter and read the whole thing. If I understood clearly, the guy Mason had already planned all this paper for Catalaiya's death.

Unexplainable death...

"When I found out about this, I did some research on him and I tried to find a solution that can save my sister. That's when I came across your contract with our dad. You were the last solution and I'm sorry for threatening you that day." Leo apologised.

"Does she knows about that?" I inquired and he shook his head no.

"I didn't want to tell her because I know she would be in shock and talking to our parents were useless as they wanted this wedding at any cost," Leo explained.

Now I feel like an asshole.

From the start, I thought that she was here for my money. I didn't realise that she was stuck in this wedding contract as much as I was. I didn't make it easier for her, instead, she had to deal with my cold self.

"Thank you for telling the truth," I say and he nodded.

"Did something happen?" Leo asked curiously.

"I thought she married me for my money, so I wasn't friendly," I said truthfully.

They both frowned.

"She told us that you were nice..." the wife trailed off.

Why would she say that?

"We'll get going," I said as I stood up. Adam and Carter did the same. We made our way to the front door.

"Wait,"

We turned around toward the wife.

"C-can we come over to see her?" She asked making me furrow my eyebrows.

I wasn't that bad...

"Yes, you can," I replied.

"She only asked you because one time I went to drop Catalaiya and your guards didn't let me in," Leo added, behind her.

That was because they didn't know him and because I didn't permit them to let him in.

I'll talk to the guards...

"I assure you, you won't have this problem again," I spoke and they nodded.

We made our way to our car.

"What now?" Adam asked as Carter drove.

"I'll have to apologise to her," I said and they nodded.

----

Once again, I was home. I went into my room, took a shower and put on sweatpants and a white shirt. I walked out of the room and made my way downstairs.

I wanted to see the fishes she got.

I made my way to the guest house. I knocked on the door and Alfred opened it. He greeted me and I greeted him back. I told him that I wanted to see the fish and he walked with me to the pond.

It looks so colourful and lively now.

"That's pretty." I agreed.

"You should see the drawing she made. It looks exactly like this." Alfred added, making me look at him.

"She paints?" I questioned.

I know nothing about her...

"Yeah, her drawings are in her room. You should ask her to show you one day." He replied. I looked around for a few minutes before I excused myself and walked back inside the main house.

"Thalia, can you make me some coffee?" I asked her and she nodded.

Thalia knows her better than me, maybe I should ask her some questions. I stood awkwardly by the counter looking at her working.

"Also, Carter and Adam will join us for dinner," I informed her.

"Ok, I'll make something that you all like." She says and I nodded.

"Thalia, where is her room?" I finally ask. She turned to look at me.

"She's in the second master bedroom." She answered and I nodded. Once she went back to work, I made my way upstairs in her room.

I know I shouldn't go into someone's room without asking but I just wanted to see it. I opened the door and I walked inside.

My eyes landed on her desk by the wall.

Damn, she really went on and decorated this area. Her pen, markers collection were quite fascinating. The colour coordination, the organisation and the cleaningness were on point.

I walked closer and I grabbed a few of her paintings. She drew and painted the pond area, the pool area at night and a few more pictures like flowers, landscape...

Every time that I saw her near the pool, she was drawing and painting the pool area...

I eventually walked out of her room and made my way back downstairs. Adam and Carter were back and they were both laughing and talking with Thalia.

She handed me my coffee and I thanked her.

"She called, she'll be here around 9 pm," Thalia informed me and I nodded.
