Everything was in such a hurry that I couldn't even register when we reached Moretti mansion and hopped on the flight. Gigi had packed our luggage. While Leo was getting his private jet ready. I was about to call him extra but then I realised that a gangster couldn't fly in economy or even in business. Gigi was sitting besides me. She had her eye mask on and had dozed off.

I unfastened my seat belt and tried to find a washroom. God, it was like a world inside this place. A very luxurious world, no less.

Suddenly, I felt someone grab my waist.

"Where do you think you're going?" Leo held my waist and whispered throatily in my ear.

"Trying to find a washroom. Seriously, I expected a private jet to be much smaller. This is like a maze. I walked by a bar. What else is in here."

"Nothing fancy, we just have a magazine, a place to store our ammo." He answered, kissing my neck.

"That's crazy. But did you guys build a washroom?"

Leo laughed. "Yeah, come with me, there's one in the private suite."

Leo led me inside a room which made me forget we were on a damn plane. He gestured towards the bathroom and I made my way.I freshened up and splashed some water on my face. This past twenty four hours had been insane. I'd lost my home and my office. Emily and I still managed to convince our clients that our office was undergoing restoration. Lucky for us, this time most of our weddings were destination weddings. So, no harm was done.

I went to the washroom, splashed my face with water and looked at the mirror. God, what had I gotten myself into? I used to be a normal girl with a normal life. Now, I have a bullet scar on my back and a target on my head. The only drama and excitement in my life used to be a runaway brides and grooms or  nasty in-laws. But now, drama meant guns and cars and mafia. Deep down, I feel afraid that maybe, I might not be able to keep up with Leo.

I walked out of the washroom into the suite where Leo was lying on the bed, reading a book.

"Join me." He said without looking up.

I threw my shoes aside and hopped on the bed. I scooted next to him and he pulled me close, wrapping his hand around me.

"How're you holding up?" He asked.

"I'm good." I said plastering a fake smile. I didn't want him to worry about me.

He turned to face me, keeping his book aside.

"I want us to be able to share everything with each other."

His dark eyes softened and I felt my heart race. Sure he was a feared gangster... more like the feared gangster boss, it was surprising to see his kind side.

"I'm scared. I don't know what will happen. I'm scared that my life has gone upside down. After I saw my house and office destroyed, I felt so helpless that I was unable to do anything to prevent it. I feel so weak and I hate feeling weak."

I let out a sigh and he pulled me close to me.

"What if something bad happens? What if one of our friends get hurt? Or what if I'll loose you?"

Leo gently carassed my hair.

"Whatever happens, I'll protect you." He mumbled and kissed my forehead. "And you know I mean it."

I buried my head in his chest and he cradled me. His warmth was so soothing that I felt all my worries disappear. Whenever he was around, I felt like I could conquer the world. Is this love? Maybe it is. Because I've never met anyone who made me a braver person.

For a moment or two both of us stayed that way. Everything would be fine. I survived getting shot, I think I can handle any thing life throws at me. After what seemed like forever, I finally let him go.

Leo looked at me mischievously.

"I'm still bitter that we were interrupted the last time." He said.

I felt a blush creep my cheeks when I recalled his hot kisses and Nico interrupting us. It was probably  the most awkward moment in  my entire life.

"Someone wants to join the mile high club." I teased. "What happened to the nice and gentlemanly Leo?"

He arched his eyebrow at my comment, "What's that supposed to mean?"

I threw myself on the bed. God, the pillows were so soft. I could stay here forever.

"I always felt you were too uptight, proper and serious. When I first met you, I never imagined you to be so playful."

He rolled on top of me and propped himself up his elbows.

"And, why were you imagining me in playful scenarios?" He asked, his dark eyes glowing with mischief.

"Don't blame me, you're hot. And I have a thing for bad boys who dress well and are gentlemen but wouldn't hesitate to shoot you."

Before I could laugh at my dorky sense of humour, my chain of thoughts was cut off by the feeling of Leo's lips on mine. He tasted sweet with a tinge of bitter, like coffee. Despite how many times we do it, I could never get used to the way his kisses made me feel. He moved his hand to cup my face and I felt the weight of his body on top of me, pinning me. I felt a flush creep up me because of the heat. I don't know but he always seemed to know what I want.

I tugged his collar and pulled him closer. For a moment everything felt so peaceful and perfect. It always does when I'm in his arms.

"Please take your seats. We are landing in Las Vegas shortly." The announcement in flight cut us off.

"Ugh." Leo groaned.

"Looks like we'll have to continue next time."

"In Vegas." He said and kissed me one last time before letting me go.

We hopped out of the bed and rejoined the others outside.
