A few months later

Ava's POV

I stood at the doorsteps as a car pulled up in the driveway. Daniel stepped out of the car and waved enthusiastically. The driver took out his luggage from the trunk as he made his way over. He picked me up and spun me around.

"Daniel!" I screamed as I started to get dizzy. He finally put me down. I slapped his chest. "Why would you do that?"

"Because I missed you, sunshine." he hugged me tightly.

I smiled. "I missed you too," I said.

"C'mon let's go inside," I said.

As we went inside, he asked, "Where is my big brooding brother?"

I shook my head. "He is attending a business call from Italy. It might take a while."

"Aw, man. Why is he working all the time? He could've taken some time off for his little brother." he said pouting.

"He has taken a lot of time off for me. Now he only attends a few calls per week and the rest of the time he is devoted to Alex and me." I said. He grinned wide.

"Look at you.... defending the love of your life," he said. I blushed.

"I'm not defending him. I have classes and then a shift at the café. So, he attends a few calls at that and also looks after Alex. Then we spent time together." I explained.

"Aww look at those cute pink cheeks," he said pinching mine. "Speaking of Alex, where is my little man?"

"There he is," I said pointing at Alex who was playing with his building blocks. Daniel ran towards him and picked him up.

"Hi, little man. I have missed you so much," he said kissing Alex all over his face. Alex giggled at the sudden attention he was receiving. I left them and went to get him some snacks.

Daniel was like a little kid. He liked mozzarella sticks, chicken nuggets, fries and how can I forget, m and ms. Our new staff member Stella helped me take everything out.

By the time I arrived Daniel was showing Alex pictures of his vacation on his phone and he was mesmerized.

"And this lady promised your uncle Daniel to call afterward but you know what she didn't. Instead, she took off with my wallet. But I told the police and they caught her immediately. Now I just only have a little dent in my heart." from the looks of it, Alex didn't understand a single word Daniel had said but he still provided me with all of his attention.

"What are you talking about?" I asked.

"Nothing. Alex and I were having a man to man conversation about girls," he said.

I picked Alex up. "My baby is too young for talking about girls," I said rolling my eyes. "It's nap time now bubba. Let's go." I said to Alex.

"Enjoy the snacks Daniel and tell Stella what you want to drink. I'll come back in a bit."

"All my favorites." he squeaked. "You know me so well. I love you."

I laughed. "Alex, say bye to uncle Daniel." he waved his little hand.

"Bye little man. Ava be back quick I have stories to tell you!." he said.

Alex went down for his nap and I came back to Daniel sipping on an orange-colored drink.

"What are you drinking?" I asked taking a fry from the plate.

"It's a mimosa. I got one for you too. Try it." he said extending my glass. I tipped the glass and drank it. It was sweet, citrusy, and a little fizzy.

"Wow, it's delicious," I said.

"See I told you," he said and I nodded drinking almost all of it.

"Whoa slow down tiger," he said.

"Stella, please get us another round." she nodded. "Ok tell me all your stories."

Normally Daniel is the funniest but today his stories are so funny that I have to clutch my stomach and try not to fall off the couch. I don't remember the count of the rounds of mimosas we had. I stopped counting after the third.

Amadeo's POV

"Gentleman, I think that's all for now. Email me if you face any further issues." with that I cut off the call. I check the time on my watch. Wow. It took a lot longer than I expected.

Daniel must've arrived by now. That annoying ass chipmunk. I made my way through the hallways and saw Stella carrying Alex out of his room. Alex saw me instantly and called out, "Dada!"

"Hey, buddy," I said as I took him from Stella. I kissed his forehead and he hugged my neck.

"Good evening, Mr. Rossi," she said.

"Good evening, Stella. Do you know where ava and my brother are?" I asked

"They are in the living room. Alex woke up and I was just taking him to Miss Ava." I nodded.

"Alright," I said as I went over and Stella followed closely behind.

What I saw next was un-fucking-believable. Some sort of Spanish English music played in the background.

Ava was dancing, shaking her hips to the beat of the music, moving her head from side to side. Daniel was on the couch cheering her.

"Shake what yo mama gave you, sunshine. Woo hoo," said Daniel, and Ava burst out laughing.

What the fuck!

"What is going on here?" I asked incredulously.

They both notice me. Ava runs up to me with a huge grin on her face.

"There you are, Amadeo. I thought you'll take forever," she said extending the ever over the still playing music.

"Daniel, turn off the music," I shouted.

"Ok ok. Relax. Geez! Calm down bro." he said turning it off

"Alex you woke up!" Ava squealed taking Alex from my arm. "You see that! He woke up!" her voice rose to an octave. She kissed his cheeks and spun him around going. Weee

What happened to her? My eyes fell on the champagne glasses on the table that had a bit of orange liquid still in them.

"Stella what did you serve them?" I asked.

She was about to answer me when Daniel interrupted, "We had a couple of mimosas. Ava loved them."

"You gave her alcohol?"

"It's just a mimosa. She just a wee bit tipsy that's it," he said

I pinched my eyebrows taking a deep breath. "She isn't tipsy. She is drunk!" I said.

"Pfft you can't get drunk on mimosas bro," he said laughing.

"You can when you have a zero-tolerance. She never had a drink before." I said.

His face paled. He stuttered out his next words. "You are lying."

I place my palm on my forehead in agitation. "Nah you're just messing with me," he said.

"Stella, please take Alex for a bath. And maybe watching him for the rest of the night till I sort this mess out." I said quickly. She nodded and took Alex from Ava who was still hugging her.

"Aww bye my baby," she said.

"Bye-bye, mama"

Ava came bouncing around to us and hugged me suddenly.

"I missed you," she said. My anger melted away. I kissed her head.

"I wanna dance with you," she said poking her finger in my chest.

"Amore.."

"I wanna dance with you," she said again.

"Clock strikes upon the hour and the sun begins to fade" she started to sing as she detached away from me.

"Still enough time to figure out, how to chase my blues away" she continued.

"I've done alright up 'til now. It's the light of day that shows me how
And when the night falls"

"Loneliness calls," Daniel joins in. Somebody kill me. Ava and Daniel put their arms around each other, singing and dancing in sync.

With that, both of them burst out laughing and hugging.

"Daniel" Ava whined. "Your brother doesn't love me. He doesn't want to dance with me," she said pouting.

"Tesoro.." I began "It's okay, sunshine. I'm here. I will dance with you all my life." he said and Ava hugged him tighter.

"Those bitches in Vegas don't deserve you. You are too good for them," she said. My eyebrows rose up to my forehead. I let out a chuckle. Drunk Ava swears duly noted.

"Only you understand me, Ava. Perhaps I should marry you," he said wiggling his eyebrows.

"Hey!" I said pulling her away from him.

"No thank you I love your brother very much," she said she stood on her tiptoes to kiss my cheek. I smirked at her and Daniel.

"Yeah. Yeah, I get it," he said waving his hand dismissively.

Ava yawned. "Let's get you to bed, Tesoro."

"But you are very comfy," she said. I sighed. I tugged her again against her numerous protests. She twirled around and danced along the hallways and I watched her. She has never been so carefree. It's refreshing. Then pushed open the door to my room.

"Ava that isn't your room," I called out but it was of no use. She sat on the bed and started taking her slippers off. She stood up abruptly and kicked them off in frustration. I covered my mouth with my palm and hid my smile. She came towards me and tugged my hand.

"C'mere". I followed along with her. She made me sit down on the bed and climbed atop me. Straddling me. She placed her hands on my chest and said, "Hi!"

"Hi," I said too laughing. she traced my face with her fingers and pushed the hair away from my forehead. She placed her lips on mine and kissed me. I grabbed onto her waist holding her against me. She sucked on my lower lip and explored the inside of my mouth. I was surprised at her sudden boldness but it was soon gone as I reciprocated and lost myself in her. She pulled away breathlessly and looked at me with her eyes hooded.

"What was that for?" I asked. She shook her head.

"I love you."

I smiled at her. "I love you too, amore."

"Maybe I should get you drunk more often," I said teasingly. She blushed and hid her head in my neck. I laughed. She pushed us on the bed and I landed on my back with her on top of me. I rolled us over so her back was on the bed.

"We need to get you to bed, Tesoro," I said touching her face.

"But it's so comfy here," she said. I shook my head.

"Fine. Let me tuck you in then. You can sleep here tonight."

"What about you?" she asked.

"I'll take one of the guest rooms."

"No," she said shaking her head.

"Then I can sleep in your room." I offered.

"No."

"I don't like my room," she said scowling.

"Why didn't you say before? I would re-do your room whenever you want. What don't you like about it?"

"It's not that."

"Then what is it?"

"I don't like it because you are not in it."

"What?"

"I want to share a room with you. Sleep in the same bed. I sleep well in your arms."

"Tesoro."

"If you don't want to, it's okay. I can go back," she said trying to get up.

I pushed her back on the bed and kissed her. "You are not going anywhere," I said.

"I would love to share a room with you, Tesoro. Why didn't you say this before?"

"I don't know."

"Don't be afraid to voice out what you want. I'm all yours, any way you want me."

She snuggled closer to my chest and I kissed her forehead.

"Would you like to start that tonight?" I asked. I could feel her smile against my chest. She nodded.

"Goodnight, Tesoro."

"Goodnight."
