I knock on Sebastian's front door and it swings open as I do so.

So much for state of the art security.

Sebastian said he had a day off and he wanted to see me. So I said okay, when and where? And he told me to just meet me in his house...which looks very empty right now.

But it would, him and Axcel can't take up a huge mansion by themselves, can they?

I walk further down the hallway, so I can go and sit in the kitchen.

Then I hear a voice, Axcel's voice. It seems like he's talking to himself, but as I get closer to the door I realise he's on the phone to someone.

'Evie, you can't expect him to do that. He's only a child.' He says in a hushed tone.

Even though there's no one in the house, it seems like he wants to keep this conversation a secret.

His back is facing me, so I don't have to hide to listen to whatever is going on.

This is probably an invasion of privacy... but it could also be classed as innocent curiosity.

He lets out an exasperated groan and runs his hand through his hair. 'Yeah but I'm doing everything I can Evie. There's literally nothing more I can do.'

I guess this Evie girl says something rude on the other side of the phone because then Axcel snaps, 'You don't even let me see him.'

Then he spins around, like he's about to pace the length of the kitchen, and our eyes lock.

He stares at me for a second before looking away quickly. He sighs and says, 'Eve I have to go. I'll call you back okay?'

He takes the phone away from his ear and looks at me again.

He doesn't look in a good enough way for me to enquire about the call, so I keep my mouth shut.

'Are you looking for Sebastian?' He asks, pushing his phone into his back pocket.

I nod. 'Yeah, he told me to meet him here.'

'Well he's not here right now, but you could wait for him. I have to go, so you'll be here by yourself, is that okay?'

'Sure yeah.' I say.

He goes to leave and I move to the side to let him walk past the doorway. But as he's going, he gives me one last glance and I notice how upset he is. Whatever that call was, it hurt him and it feels mean to not even ask if he's alright.

'Axcel.' I say. He stops and he turns around to face me, with his hands in his pockets. 'Are you okay?'

His jaw twitches. 'Yeah.' He says quietly, before turning back around and walking off.

I've realised that I can't sit still for more than five minutes. It's not like I didn't try to keep my bum on my seat for longer, it's just that my sense of curiosity is alot stronger than my will power

I'm sitting, upstairs, behind Sebastian's desk. I have no idea what he does with two offices, but it seems he makes use of this one at least. His desk is covered in files and there's a computer at the end that flashes on when I wiggle the mouse.

The bookcase at the far side of the room is covered in books and there's a super comfortable sofa facing it on the other side of the room.

I already know it's comfortable because I tested it out.

My phone buzzes on the desk and I pick it up to see who it is.

I click on the notification and it's none other than Alice. God knows what she's been up to till now.

When we going shopping bitch.

When are you free? I reply.

Alexis, you know I don't do anything useful with my life. I'm free any day...except for tomorrow.

I raise my eyebrows.

What are you doing tomorrow? I text back.

None of your beeswax.

Now answer my question. When are we going shopping for your spare room?? I made a pinterest board and everythinggg.

Smh what would you do without me Alexis Camden.

I roll my eyes.

We can go the day after tomorrow then. I reply.

Oooo sounds good! She says.

I switch off my phone.

What would I do without Alice? Probably live a sane life.

Boring.... But sane.

Sebastian's office door opens and I look up to see him walking in.

'What are you doing in here?' He asks.

I shrug. 'I got bored downstairs. Snooping is quite fun.'

He walks up to the desk, places his hands down flat on the surface and then leans on his arms.

'I bet. But let's refrain from snooping around my stuff.'

I lean forward. 'Who's Evie?'

If Sebastain knows anything about her, he doesn't show it. All he does is shrug.

'One of Axcel's friends. Why?'

'I was just wondering.' I say.

'Where'd you hear her name?'

'Axcel.' I say.

Sebastian's eyes narrow, he takes in a breath and then changes the subject. 'I'm having a party tomorrow.'

'Are you asking to be your plus one?'

'Not necessarily.' He says with a smirk.

'I think I'll come with you. I haven't got anything better to do.'

He rolls his eyes. 'It's not a good idea, but fine.'

My phone buzzes again and I pick it up.

Another notification from Alice. I click on it.

I'm making a new nickname for you cause Lexi is boring af anddddd we are going shopping in my NEW car.

I roll my eyes and switch back off my phone. First off, Alice spends too much money.

Second, no one asked anyone to start calling me Lexi. They just took it upon themselves. They could just call me the name on my birth certificate.

'I'm hungry.' I say.

Sebastian is standing halfway across the room with his head in a file.

He looks up. 'That's nice.'

I put my hands together like I'm about to pray and say. 'Please make me food.'

He blinks at me.

I smile.

He sighs and throws the file onto the sofa behind him. 'Fine.'

I stand up and clap my hands together 'Yay.'

'Do you not know how to cook Alexis?'

'I do... I'd just prefer you to cook for me.'

I walk over to him and sling my arms over his shoulder. He slides his hands around my waist.

'I think I'm just a better cook than you.' He says quietly.

I nod. 'You are a better cook than me.'
