I'm peering round the door frame of my bedroom watching the lock on my apartment door wiggle. Is it Alice? It couldn't be Alice.

The lock clicks, the door swings open and Sebastian walks in like he owns the place.

At least Alice would have the respect to knock first.

My eyes widen in anger and my hand flies to my cleavage. I'm literally standing with joggers and a bra on. 'Sebastian,' I snap, coming out of my bedroom to stare at him. 'What the fuck.'

I point my hand to the now closed door.

He shakes his head. 'You shouldn't leave your spare key under your doormat. That's how you get robbed.'

He places the key down gently, leans against the counter, looks me up and down, smirks and says, 'It's nice to see you though.'

I glower at him. 'Sebastian, you can't just walk into my apartment. That's trespassing.'

He raises his eyebrows. 'Go and report me. See what happens.'

I press my hands into tight fists by my side. He can't just saunter into my apartment, unannounced, like he owns the place.

'Anyway, get dressed. We're going out.'

'No. Sebastian, I have to work.'

He waves me away. 'Take the day off.'

'I can't... Sebastian, that's not how it works.'

'I could just call Lucia...' He says, holding up his phone

I glare at him. 'Sebastian, I can't just decide I don't want to show up one day. And you most certainly can't call Lucia and ask her to have the day off for me.'

He blinks at me for a while.

'Why don't you just take Lucia's job.'

I sneer at him. 'I can't just take it. I have to actually work for it, and that requires me actually going into work when she wants me there.'

'So you're going to get Lucia's job by being her personal assistant basically.'

I'm so angry, I can barely breathe properly. He looks down at his phone.

'Sebastian, get out.' I say through gritted teeth.

He holds his hand up to stop me from continuing. 'Excuse me.'

He walks past me, pressing his phone to his ear. I spin around and watch him mummering to someone.

I am still trying to work out who died and gave him a golden crown.

He ends his call, looks up and says, 'Lucia says it's okay.'

He comes up in front of me, brings his hand up and brushes a strand of hair away from my face. 'Get changed.'

He walks back to the counter and leans against it.

My fists are curled so tight, my fingernails are digging into my palm. I let out a frustrated groan and stomp to my room, slamming the door behind me.

I know I look like an angry toddler but right now I have every right to act like one.

Stupid, annoying, irritating, idiotic man. If I could fight him and win, I would. But I'm not stupid enough to put myself in a position where Sebastian will once again win.

So, for now, I'm going to settle with acting like an angry toddler.

'Where are we?' I ask

Sebastian's driven me to a building, with blacked out windows and like six scanners on the front door. He puts his right hand on one and then bends down so that something can scan his eyes. Okay so maybe there are only two scanners, but why?

The door beeps and clicks, he pushes it open and leans against the door, keeping it open.

I cross my arms. 'I asked you a question, Sebastian.'

He looks inside, then looks back at me. 'Headquarters.'

I raise my eyebrows, and once again, my curiosity gets the better of me. I walk past him but he grabs my wrist before I can walk too far away.

'Don't walk off without me understand.'

His voice is firm and so is the grip on my arm.

I nod. 'Okay.'

He pushes off the door and lets it shut behind us. He places his hand on the small of my back and we walk through a bustling hallway. Most of the people here are dressed in business wear and they're not trying their hardest to hide the guns tucked in their holsters. None of them look our way, and the few who do are glared down by Sebastian. And everytime someone comes too close, Sebastian's arm slides further round my waist.

'Uh, Alexis, Sebastian.' Axcel walks up to us with his arms wide open. Then his facial expression changes from happy to confused. 'Why are you guys here?'

'We're not here for you,' Sebastian says to Axcel. 'Get lost.'

'That is so rude.' Axcel shakes his head. 'How dare you.'

'Nuh uh, you can't leave, you have to save me first...I've been kidnapped.' I murmur under my breath.

Axcel laughs, 'Will do princess.'

Sebastian rolls his eyes and sneers 'Fuck off.'

He pushes me forward, so we can out walk Axcel but he keeps up until his phone rings. He pulls it out of his pocket, curses under his breath and drops back without another word.

Two men join either side of us, walking at the same speed, neither of them make eye contact with me. They only nod at Sebastian. The one closest to me passes a file to him before they drop back and it's just me and him left again.

Sebastian tucks the file under his arm.

'Who was that?' I ask

We come up to an elevator and he presses his hand against yet another scanner.

'Just two people who work for me.'

I step into the elevator and slump against the wall. I can feel him staring at me, so I turn to glare at him.

'Why am I here Sebastian?'

'I told you I wanted to show you something.' He smirks at my lack of knowledge and it only angers me more.

The elevator speed slows and a mechanical whirring sounds.

'Authentication please.' A lady says. It sounds awfully like an Alexa does.

Sebastian steps forward and a machine scans his eyes. A loud beep sounds and the doors slide open revealing a fully furnished penthouse. The windows are tinted and there's a huge winding staircase to what I can only imagine is the bedroom.

Sebastian chucks the file on the sofa nearest to us. 'This way.'

He leads me towards an automatic sliding door which opens to show what could only be called a shooting range. On the left there's a wall full of guns and a floor made of foam with shooting blocks in front of it. On the right side there's the same, just with targets and dummies instead of a clear floor. Not only are there guns on the walls but there is a crate of them next to another door, plus oddly shiny ones on each shooting block.

I walk to the left. I watch my shoes make imprints on the foam and Sebastian does too.

'Do you want to take off your shoes?' He asks bracing against one of the blocks.

I blink at him and look around. 'No.' I cross my arms over my chest. 'So...'

I look at him with an expectant facial expression.

He shrugs. 'So?'

I mimic his shrug. 'Is this what you wanted to show me. Your treasure trove of illicit goods?'

He stares at me for a while before standing up straight. 'No.'

He looks away at something on the far wall and I follow his gaze.

I do see him out of the corner of my eye. But Sebastian has inhumanly quick speed. He picks up the gun on the block, points it at me, and shoots it.

It's only the sound of the trigger that makes me spin around, but just as I do the bullet hits my skin and I stumble back.
